I spent 150 days in her on the northern North Atlantic, starting in Ålesund Norway sailing west north of the Faroe Island then south between Iceland and Faroe west of Scotland and Ireland arriving at Horta Azores after 78 days then to Porto Santo then returning to Horta then to Ireland. Now a new boat is under building.
Can't wait to see your new vessel Sven....
It's incredible that you can fit your giant balls in that little boat!
When you sail so much, you are playing a numbers game with nature. Eventually you will meet a rogue wave with your name written on it. Is your boat capable of surviving a freak wave?
@@jimj2683 Read up on some of Sven's work where he explains it all. He's much safer than you may think.
A good Sailing ship to carry cargo and train young people for a low carbon and sustainable future.
Thank you.
Thank you Sven for this unpolished video of sailing. This is what everyone needs to see when contemplating spending time at sea. Have a great weekend.
Sven, you are a inspiration. I plan on leaving the comfortable velvet handcuffs of modern life soon. I’ll loose $$$ stepping of the merry-go-round early but no $$$ can replace the dream of at least attempting a Circumnavigation of our planet on a small sailboat.
Aye! Just bought myself a 32 feet longkeeler and house is for sale. Mine is a 70's luxury yacht compared to Sven's. Go small, go now!
@@7times7seas Lin and Larry....
Surprisingly, Interesting - Powerful - Engaging for a video that is simple/rough/real. . . . . . Thank You very much !!!
Can anyone imagine a way to live closer to the force of Mother Nature than this? Waw!!!
Love and respect you Sven Yrvind. Truely a life well lived.
You’re a rare breed ! A free man ! BRAVO 👏🏼 !
A TRUE sailor, inspiration and guideline to a beautiful life without the today's all visible fake-ness and staging.
Good luck captain fair winds and safe travels 👏.... Greetings and love send from the Spanish coast line.
Love the pilot whales! Guiding you on your way. Thanks for sharing. Its always a treat to watch!
Sven your an amazing man ... I am inspired by you an your vessel! What a nice visit from the Pilot Whales... It's always a nice visitation... Thanks for sharing your life and wisdom of travels with us... Grateful ✌🏼💗😊❣️
Thanks for your video. I'll show it to some friends who stated that any sailboat smaller than 30' should not be considered seaworthy. Go with the wind you sea-hermit you. 😉
A small boat well concieved is much much more seaworthy than big ones.
Big boats attract big forces.
A wise man said " big boats attract big forces" you Sir, are a genuine master of the waves with salt coursing through your veins.
Sven glad your save Happy sailing your an inspiration to many..
Highest respect Sven! All the best in your passage!
You are an icon of sailing, keep it up!
G,day Yrvind, hope you're well. I've many thousand hours of sea time on many different vessels. Your vessels are brilliant designs, you remind me of an Albatross. I get a very real sense of the elements aboard your vessel, the greater sense being of a great confidence and definite security. The way she rides easily over the top of the seas and rising swell, excellent. Very exciting adventures you know. All the best regards from here on the West Coast side of Australia 🌏 Batavia Coast 🙏🖖🤟 . P.S, Thor Heyerdahl must have felt very certain in the presence of your accomplishments.
Pure gold Sven! Big hug from a brazilian guy!
So amazing voyage around the world ⛵️ 🌎 Bravo . I am extremely impressed. Absolutely remarkable the greatest sailor all the time .Good luck
About time you went again too
Good luck for you Sven! Come back home safe from your journey!! ⛵️🛟👍
Wonderful to see Sven. You have done it again - you are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing!
I absolutely love this video
Much Admiration Much Obliged! Smooth Sailing 😍❤️
Great to see you are well and enjoying the freedom on the ocean.
Thanks for keeping on out there, I love sharing your adventures. I live in the desert and get to the oceans occasionally. Fair winds to you skipper.
Much respect and admiration from the states.
Love this you and your kindred spirits be well thank you 😊
Nice to see that you are still at it, I lived the other side of the road, you were building a boat on the second floor in a house, early 1980:s Hagen Göteborg
Wonderful. Thanks much. Love to see you underway.
Dude you're A TOTAL BEAST! 🦣
Hello Sven, I was just watching a Sam Holmes video of him in, I think it was, South Hampton England at a boat show. He said there's all kinds of options for electric outboards. By the time you leave on your "ice cream" trip there may be something that will work for you.
Great vid, thanks for sharing 😊👍
Thank you Sven!!
My greatest respect!
Hope to be like Sven when I'm old 🥰☺️
You need to start like Sven when you young.
This is REAL freedom!
Great action
In Dutch we call that a "stoere man" and stoer means brave, not large. A ship is as good as the crew is, so, this skipper is doing pretty well.
I like these sea videos, I hope you're gonna make them with your new boat too?
if only we could convince him to get starlink or something similar to upload whille he is on the way.
@@akcarlos 10k a month for the boat version he would rather build boats with that kind of money lol
@@raymondmarsland4328 that sounds much more expensive than I have seen, where do you see that pricing?
@@akcarlos Thats for bigger boats with more money, even with money they are to big.
@@SvenYrvindExlex the star link system itself is actually pretty compact I have it on my house and by the looks of the maritime starlink it looks to be about the same size
Amazing!
You deserved a cask of Guiness after that voyage!
Is the new boat a larger version of present craft? May it carry you safely wherever you decide to go.
Go raibh mhaith agat as Eireann.
What is the purpose of the knotted ropes hanging from the ends of the booms?
I really enjoy these "At Sea" videos. They're about the only place you can get an idea of what it feels like to be in the open ocean in a very small boat.
Have a look for Roger Taylor sailing junk Mingming on tube. Sails the northern latitudes in a 20' boat no engine.
I think maybe I use them for reefing
10.38-10.40 wow!
Sven, vore mycket trevligare om du använde en "dead cat" (Lurvig socka) på micken... ;)
Jäkligt jobbigt att lyssna på annars :)
Calm Seas
There is no microphone
@@SvenYrvindExlex Jag hör ju dig ;)
Skämt åsido Sven, men trä en socka över michålet eller om du har en extern micutgång så köp en billig mic typ MOVO VXR10 eller liknande ;)
(ca 380:-skr)
Blir lite "next level" :)
Lycka till!!
Think about being in an empty spa bath with the cover on floating 1000 of miles from land & hours and hours away from help. Oh and no AC in the heat or heater in the cold other than one blanket and 2 sleeping bags is all he had. Superman is real
que locura hay que tener para hacer esto te felicito
That is Peachtree PEACEFUL ✌ THANKS YOUR
To 😎
GO SVEN !!!!
it is great.
True Capitano!
what a champion
Loved the video! However, I'm full of suggesetions for other people.
First, put a shirt on so you don't drive the girls crazy.
Second, I've love to hear you talk for 10, 20, even 30 minutes and recount some of your time at sea and at the various ports you've been to. Forget any editing. Just talk.
Sven doesn’t need a fancy boat to impress people. Like me, he just takes his shirt off and watches all the jaws drop 😂
Just wondered if you ever really suffered from sea sickness being constantly thrown around.
I do not even notice that the boat is mowing when at sea.
Now watching the video tells me that there is waves out there and that they nove the boat.
The first few days one gets tired becouse the body is not used to the movements but it soon adapts.
Sven ...Do you still use your Bris sextant for celestial navigation on these micro sailing trips ? You are looking good out there :)
Those were some nasty looking hatch cover battens. How many times did you bump them with your head or your back. Looks by your compass that the boat held course pretty well. Thanks for posting your open sea video. I haven't seen it before and it's very interesting. When you first saw the Pilot Whales did you think they were Orcas?
I newer bumpt.
It is fascinating watching how the boat keeps such a good course with no windwane or autopilot just by balancing the sails.
Its a bit like magic, like as if the boat did have her own spirit.
😎 IS THAT A CANVAS SAIL?.... GOOD IDEA & TOUGH MATERIAL. A 65 FOOTER IS LOST WITHOUT THEIR RIPPED $20,000 SAIL THAT NEEDS A PROFESSIONAL MACHINE SEWING REPAIR.
Love this video
When you go to sleep , who takes over the Watch? Also when the wind died down , How do you motors?
I have a sixt sense for sleep.
There is no motor.
When the wind stop the boat stop, no problem.
@@SvenYrvindExlex Jesus you have balls.
@@SvenYrvindExlex when the wind stops, the boat stops. No problem. < She echoes to herself.

How do you handle the moisture build up inside your vessel?
It was a problem and a lesson.
There where a few thermal bridges for and aft and condensed water was dripping all the time causing mildew.
The lesson is learnt, this boat will take care of the problems elimating the thermal bridges with better insulation.
@@SvenYrvindExlex Collected condensed water should be good for drinking.
Den gamle och havet i ett nötskal. 😁👍
WOW!
👏🏻
Badassery!
It would be fun to have an underwater video camera on a pole you could turn in every direction to watch the visitors, keep a list of all the different species. Was the huge volcano in the beginning Jan Mayen? Pilot whales dive deep for squid.
It was Pico Azores after 78 days from Ålesund Norway.
But why?
More volg pleaase
😁🤘
One question! WHY?
If you have to ask you will never understand.
@@SvenYrvindExlex It is because!
Why not🏴☠️
@@journeymanadventure The love for the ocean!
Q (from a journalist) : Why do you climb mountains ? A : Because they are here ! The answer is from George Mallory (who died while climbing the Everest mountain). Self explanatory, I guess...
I could have sworn I heard a pilot whale say your name.
Me the sea & I

Bad video sir
Blasphemy
Extraña forma de vivir!
Our ancestors would have found his life style very normal whereas your life style like sitting in offices ,starring at screens and being surrounded by man made stuff very weird I guess.
