Is it just me or did Hickman drop a pretentious story with very little if any road building with the intent of making the cosmic entities more accessible and not doing that intent at all?

Only cause he was cut short. The series got cancelled at 8 issues
I didn't like this at all. The story was not engaging or interesting.
Hickman stories take 40+ issues to complete. GODS got cut at 8. I'm sad over it. At least we still have Ultimate Spiderman.
