This has to be the best mailbag I have seen yet, the fact that someone has thought of your wife / partner and not you is awesome !!. Love to see some turn up for your little boy too. Whilst it may be a electronics blog you give us we never forget that you are a family man too and it is nice to see the human non critical side of you now and again when you let your son out to play on your best kit :) , mine just used to hide all my snap on tools in my back garden and drive me nuts looking for a spanner or such whilst they sat giggling.
@9:40 "Take it Apart!!" This would make an excellent "Tear Down" !! AND Please show how you can interface it too, this would be a great application for precision placements etc.
There is a project which takes advantage of cheap digital calipers to make a very decent DRO using an old PC...it's called YADRO (Yet Another Digital Readout).
Yes at high frequencys even a little bit of inductance can create a large impedance and let noise form, most With most PCB manufacturers visas are free anyway.
Lastly I'd like to point out that you can actually see the LCD on the caliper that it's broken even in the bag BEFORE the multimeter hits, and the multimeter didn't even hit the LCD so I don't know if troll or bad eye sight
I use the same Multimeter. It does really weird things when measuring mains. F.e the battery low indicator on the display shows up instantly. I've also tried to measure the DC voltage over the filter cap of a SMPS, which is about 410VDC, just for fun. The multimeter didn't explode, but you can hear sizzling noise from the inside. Of course the display jumped up and down like crazy. It will never meet it's spec of handling 600V :) Greetings from Austria
We have a saying here, goes something like this ... "We're not rich enough to be able to afford to buy cheaply." In the long run, cheap stuff, while being continuously replaced, will cost you way more.
That multimeter looks exactly like the one I bought here in germany. I would never use it to measure something like mains voltage but it's quite exact. CU
Bonjour à Sylvain et tous les fans de Belgique, Louvain-la-Neuve en particulier :D (Hello to Sylvain and all fans from Belgium, Louvain-la-Neuve in particular)
Yeah, unfortunately those digital calipers are basically shit. They tend to build up quite a deviation as you slide them along, when the battery is going flat it reads nonsense and after a while they just die on you for no apparent reason. Had three of those and after a while I decided to buy a proper one with an adjustable analog dial :)
We had to stop calling flip flops (formerly thongs) thongs because a select few started calling g strings thongs. And we didn't want those type people to get confused about what we were talking about.
it's not certified for use measuring goods for trade. in other words, it's not legal to use it at your shop to charge customers by weight. unless you're a druggie, of course ;)
Something tells me someone has ordered stuff for you previously and had it direct delivered then forgot to change the address for his next order. My guess is he won't own up to it though :)
A G-string is only one type of thong (check a fashion encyclopedia, there are at least5 types of women's thongs, and 4 types on men's). And what you call a thong we call a flip-flop.
5:25 you can clearly see the watch says REMDTE CONTROL ..lol! They even made a typo on the watch..terrible..they probably thought the capital D sort of looked like an O so they just put it in because nobody really knows english over there and just matched up the symbols. Probably used google translate and typed what they thought the letters looked like. It'd be like trying to match up chinese symbols. Just awful.
It's written on the mail bag... lingerie! I got the exact multimeter from ebay..still working as charm! I think that fellow sent you cause they are defective. check the balance and lingerie!
wow, its really great that the chinese can sell watches for 2 bucks cuz theyre paying virtually nothing to the employees who actually build them, while coupling their weak currency to the strong usd/euro. i am REALLY amazed by that. what a successful country!

...Was anyone else thinking "sex toy" as Dave unwrapped the second package?!
Yes :)
Jonathan Peden LOL yes!
Jonathan Peden yep
Jonathan Peden Most definitely!
I bought a bunch of male to male BNC couplers for an experiment I was going. They work well and only add about .5 inches to the distance.
As another Oklahoma viewer I have to say. Dave that's an image of the Golden Driller
So awesome to see that on this video.
Greetings, Dave, also from Oklahoma. I'm an EE from Stillwater,OK. Love your vids. Keep up the great work!
Blast from the past. 👍😁
I have to admit that I was a bit freaked out when opening the 2nd Pkg 😲
They also don't have an analog fallback for when the display fails. So as soon as they're broken they are useless.

Hahah, someone will send you a pink rabbit vibe next time! That should make a hilarious teardown.

someone forgot to change the delivery address
This is probably the very first episode of the Troll Mondays series!
hey they multimeter is the same one as my robotics class at school uses
something for the wife instead of your son. someone was kind. awe Dave!

Surprised the gag gifts didn't happen earlier lol ...
The description on China package is "Mop Cloth"
LMAO. This happened to me as well. I got EXACTLY the same package from an unknown person in china after ordering some electronics from china.
I think the china scrap is for tear downs.
Haha and a matching G-Banger !!!
In the US we don't call those rubber sandals thongs - we call those flip flops. That should really drive you crazy.
I saw the Japanese currency sign on the mail cover.

for your mrs Dave ... hahaha. made my day.

One Hung Low send that cloth to Dave to piss him off even more!

Oh Dave, I'm not sure any explaination to Mrs EEVBlog will be believed! Caution is suggested...
This watch would be very usefull in the school :)
Multimeter review time!
We want a teardown of the G-string !!!!!
It was only a matter of time.
The calipers have a USB port - Google it!
The scales are not accurate enough to measure items (such as precious metals) for sale.
We had to stop calling flip flops (formerly thongs) thongs because a select few started calling g strings thongs. And we didn't want those type people to get confused about what we were talking about.
Like a true engineer: "...like a little black mini skirt dressy kind of thing" :-D
And BTW, a flip-flop being called a thong - Yeah, I know. I've been to the beach. I'm not from Idaho!
This dummy load is an Open Drain Hardware :P
Thought for a moment that the second long China package was going to be a ladies electrical bedroom accessory. You're still PG-rated, Dave.
Question: aren't these items you receive via mailbag supposed to be disassembled and analyzed? Or just gifts?
The neuroelectronics starter kit.
use the watch for teardown tues
They should have included the lube with the intimate apparel, eh?
There are things, and then there are poorly made things.
hey mate I can't find Munaut.S Pulse Generator anywhere, do you have anyother recommendation?
Well, I was going to finish my 68k SBC and send you a prototype .. but I think I'll just send some crazy Japanese underwear now.
although Dave has already experience in neuroelectronics :D

So...did you wear it to make rest of the video?
Hey Dave, it's made 2012 and not 2002 ^^
14:03
Is your mailbag still in operation? I would like to send you a kit I designed.
Drop ship chinese junk to Dave, why didn't I think of it myself. Awesome! (although I have those calipers and they have served me well)
The first item to open was hilarious :P haha are you sure you didn't request it Dave :P
Feels.... really.... really cheap.. haha lol
LOL you need to suprice the miss,s
No one's forcing you to watch and certainly no one's forcing you to post spiteful comments..
Looks like it's already smashed from my angle. xD
please, don't

***** And in NZ we call them by their proper name: Jandals!
情趣内衣,哈哈~~

Weird set of tags...

actually this watch is a nice idea if it would be better :D
Not a very good gift taker huh!?
Funny shit!
"No, is not a thong. No. You Yanks have it wrong... Thongs are what you wear on your feet. This is a G-String." Awesome :)
Explain that to your wife Dave !
Could this be the start of viewers sending gag gifts to you? >:)
Hahahaha!
lol same voteage meter as got
It's written on the mail bag... lingerie!
I got the exact multimeter from ebay..still working as charm! I think that fellow sent you cause they are defective. check the balance and lingerie!
the lingerie probably costs more than the other electronics the guy from china sent :)
The chinese yuan uses the same symbol.
As well as cutting pretty much every safety and health regulation that would protect those same workers...
wow, its really great that the chinese can sell watches for 2 bucks cuz theyre paying virtually nothing to the employees who actually build them, while coupling their weak currency to the strong usd/euro. i am REALLY amazed by that. what a successful country!
Watch: 5€ at deal extreme ;)
Your going to get lodes of joke stuff now :P
lolololol
Yes, if you're americahn...

My Copier exploded and i inhaled alot of toner, and i am still aluh.dsfjoiveroioeigrehigeirugrehoigeugrhoegiruheerguiegiou
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AT START!!!!!!!!!!!!
waitwait 0:20的情趣内衣是什么鬼哈哈哈//...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Yes, I know. But a thong is also a piece of undergarment for a chick. Lingerie wise, it is VERY different from a g-string!
Lold
Dude, you need to brush up on your lingerie knowledge. Yes, that is a g-string, a thong is a totally different thing (more fabric)
