I was laughing so hard when I saw the Wun Hung-Lo tear down :P
*****
thats a "bad" knife
Barnacules Nerdgasm I was laughing too when I saw someone who has a channel that I subscribed.I bet that you are Mr.Wong and you come here to see Dave's reaction :) Even if you are not; Who prepared this joke is absolutely genius.
Barnacules Nerdgasm "Qualitty" is number 1 priority! Bahahaha :)
Me to lol
Barnacules Nerdgasm the Chinese is funny as hell too
Daaaaaaaaaaave ! Whoever really sent you that Wun-Hang-Low package deserves an honorable special mention in your next video. That was fabulous !
Here is what my dictionary says about the Chinese characters btw.
It's written with traditional characters.
戴夫 Dave
信箱 PO Box
奧地利 Australia
臭狗屎 Smelly dog shit
不使用安全 No use of safety
未通過認證 Not passed certification
有毒廢料 Poisonous/toxic waste
我們不關心質量止盈 We don't care about quality only profit
戴夫是真棒非常趣 Dave is really super interesting!
大聲笑 Cashinnate(?)
I hope a native speaker can correct me :)
It's awesome!
Also, check the address 58:06
I'm a native Chinese speaker. Your translations are good, except theese:
奧地利 is Austria (not Australia)
大聲笑 means LOL :)
Patrik Lindahl that's genius, the person who sent it is clearly a viewer and hilarious.
gfx2006 大聲笑
it is kind of weird how much we like these mailbag videos... its pretty much like a poor kid watching his neighbors open presents on Christmas morning through the window... knowing he's not getting a damn thing. and ENJOYING IT 0_o
The same with the films, porn, and books. It's because it's easier seeing it than doing it.
fantastic mailbag, the one hour time was brilliant, the quality was superior, the special guest openers were a welcome surprise, and the final segment was pure hilarity. thnx.
A bit of clarification on the role of the antenna on the back of the PenPad. The hybrid chip on the flat flex is the wireless communication device that is used to connect to the USPS mail truck docking system that works on a 2.4 GHz system, encryped using a special (i think 256-bit encryption) connection using WiFi, and the mail truck in turn uses the internet connection provided by one of the major US carriers to reach to a server somewhere. Hope this helps. Btw, in the mail van the dock is for 2 PenPads.
Alex Mano Thanks for the info on that, makes sense.
EEVblog You welcome
Love the high framerate - not experiencing any blurriness or issues due to the 50fps like others are, so I don't know what's up with their situation. I'd say stick with the HFR :D
nicknack125 Yes, I don't know what people are on about with a 50fps video on a 60fps monitor. Looks fine to me.
EEVblog When 50 fps is shown on 60 fps panel, every 5th frame is shown double time, so it causes some minor microjudder. It's mostly fine of course.
It probably depends on individual monitors. Both of mine work fine, but maybe some cheaper ones with slower response times will have issues.
What I meant is that you can't directly display 50 fps on 60 fps panel, as 50 isn't a factor of 60. So every fifth frame will be shown for 33.3 ms while others will be 16.6 ms. Hey, it's not really perceivable, but technically there's this minor judder.
jonskunator Yes, and this is very noticeable unfortunately...
I argue the case for having dynamic sync like I described in another comment. The GPU might send a region to the monitor that has changed just in time.
5:08 one little side note.. the method of detecting ionizing radiation (e.g. Gieger counter or scintillation counter) determines what sort of radiation you're going to detect. For instance, GM is not suitable for detecting gamma-rays and x-rays due to the low efficiency
After view of video, I am agree that Wun Hung Low product is very best. I go fully recommend to people I meet. Very good qualitty.
Love the way that D9, R12, R13 have been raised from the board for airflow, so essential for cooling
Hi Dave. In the MAVO-35 multimeter, the transformer is used for AC current measurement. It is a curent transformer and the different windings are for the different ranges. Sorry for my english! Like your blog and youtube videos. Best to you and family.
That multimeter recall in me so many memories...
This looks sooo much smooth on my TV! thanks Dave!
Also notice Wun Hung-Lo sent the letter to Austria, not Australia. I'm going to assume it's a joke, because no one would call out a cold solder joint.
I'm really curious what the writing says now. Any translators here?
I lost it at that part. Too funny.
I realized it was a joke as soon as the letter reading got to "assembry line." Would have been even funnier if more Chinglish had been used. Overall, the English was far better than that found in the vast majority of Wun Hung-Lo "product manuals."
According to google translate it says "Dave is awesome, very interesting"
Winston Smith I work with people in China, Japan, and other countries. I've actually seen the b/l substitution written in email.
Also, High quality product from our factory ( not safe for use)
Wung hung lo (Stinky dog Shxt)
Safety certified (No certified)
Mr Wong ( LOL )
hot snot ( Toxic waste )
Loved the Wun Lung-Lo! Absolutely hilarious spoof! It instantly brought me back to 1968, sitting around the table with a bunch of ham radio nuts and one guy mentions "one hung low". I had no clue what he was taking about at the time.
For mailbag and similar videos where camera is stationary and there is not much movement 25 or 30fps is better because at the same encoding size there are less frames so each frame can be of higher quality.
For places where you have the cammera hand held or there is a lot of fast movement 50 or 60fps will give better result less motion blur.
I Dont think file formats work this way.....
ATschTheCube
Can you elaborate? I made no mention to file formats.
Sign that.
Wrong
***** The only thing you will change, going from 50/60 fps to 25/30 fps, is the size of the file. Lower framecount doesn't allow for higher quality frames.
Loving the 50p. Brilliant and adds a touch more "being there"! Might start upping my own vids in 50p now, as they are shot in that and then rendered to 25fps. Doubles the size I suppose though...
Keep up the awesome work mate.
impressive design from the wun hung-lo factory
Awesome episode.
And Mrs. EVVblog and EVVblog Jr. are both on the show! Brilliant!
Hooray - you've finally turned that scope over your left sholder the right way up... It's been bugging me for months :) Cheers!!
Seconded. Thank you.
Hello Dave and greetings from Romania. I would like to add that i really like your rightful presentation of the Wun Hung Lo product, after watching it I really decided that i`ll use further more their products and would even recommend further use of Wun Hung Lo kinda products in life sustaining systems and medical equipment, their power supplies are the best. No more Astec, Delta, Fluke etc. The Wun Hung Lo product line takes the cake. I am really looking for more Wun Hung Lo reviews in order to keep up with what`s new on the market.
Nice Review on good old Mavo 35, back in the day every electronics tech/engineer would have had one Mavo on their workbench.
My boy is 5 months old and it seems that he`s staying put with eyes on the monitor looking along with his daddy at your nice tear-down and mailbag sections.
Keep up the good work buddy! Cheers to Sagan and all the best there is.
The Wun Hung Lo segment was amazing, just too funny. I can't believe this is real.
+capoman1 It's not. I checked the chinese words with google translate and in the bottom left corner it said smelly dog feces, and in the bottom middle section it said dave is awesome fun, and next to the Mr Wong signature it said "(lol)". Also next to hot snot it said toxic waste, and in the beginning of the letter, next to wun hung lo factory it says dog feces again, and there's some other crazy stuff also, so I'm pretty sure it's not a bad translation issue.
+Ady Price Nah I think that was a prank letter. Look at 50:06 it says : "pay special attention to C2 we have soldered only partially, this cold joint technique is very difficult, only our most honorable staff can do this - it is a very clever spark gap for safety, we have lifted pads... for max cooling and safety, lifted pcb trace for max current flow and safety..."
No real person would brag about these things, this is obvious satire and prank. Somebody sent Dave a prank mailbag burnt circuit with a cute letter :) I like it. I think Dave went along.
+capoman1 Yeah, that's because it isn't (real). It should have been an April 1st thing...
That would have been perfect.
Still laughed my ass off though...
+capoman1 Seriously? Do you and 23 other people really need it explained to you (and them) that this was just a joke for our, and Dave's, amusement? I'm particularly amazed that you needed to research the letter's content to draw this conclusion. *Facepalm*.
xebek On first watch, I just assumed it was legit, I didn't anticipate a prank. But yes I did notice on second watch it was a prank. And damn hilarious.
Great! Scope in the background is not upside-down anymore! Great mailbag.
According to the uRADMonitor website the last time your unit sent info was 13-Jun-2015 16:48. Did it break or something?
His wife starts opening at 42:06 if anyone is interested :)
50fps HD splendour! Thanks for the eye candy, Dave! :)
The 50fps recording is really really nice. Please keep using it :)
fuck 4k, 50-60 FPS are the future!
PS: framerate conversions are bad, decide what framerate you want to use and set all the cameras on that (or at least the half of that). 25 and 50 fps or 30 and 60 fps, not this 25 and 60 with a 50fps conversion.
perhaps you didn't hear. my cameras can't just be set to any arbitrary frame rate.
EEVblog There might be some 3rd party firmware for Canon video cameras (like CHDK for their point-and-shoots) to enable 60 FPS.
sadly the framerate conversion just ruin the video quality due to frames interpolation. In this video is very noticeable due to the massive blur
I feel you man. 50->60 fps interpolation is especially noticeable to my eyes.
He cannot do anything about it tho right now, and I do like the higher framerate, even if the interpolation is a little distracting.
I agree with high fps fps, oh yes! But why exclude 4k?
We want *4K@60FPS!*
Always great to see the family supporting your show!
The Wun Hung-Lo Factory part had me literally on the floor laughing uncontrollably, it was the serious sarcasm that did it! Thanks so much for that Dave, I do love it when people show a sense of humor.
I had to come check the comments it was so series
What Dave is thinking while opening the mail bags: "I wonder what cool thing this might be. Maybe something interesting for teardown to learn from? Or a new calculator for my vintage collection?". And from the look of the face what his wife is thinking while unpacking: "Oh dear, more crap. I'm glad it is not in the garage anymore." :-)
Hey Dave, have the wife open more of the packages...she's much easier on the eyes that YOU! LOL
+Jack neff Lol...
True enough!!!! amadrunner
(Jack !!) You piece of xxxt :-) ... Do (to be precise 47+ people) like you still exist in this world :-) >> from my point of view, Dave and his wife are doing there best wasting there time to educate noobs like your kind and to save you money that might be wasted on the wrong product and wrong choices that you might make ... etc. Show Some Respect.
Aadel Al Mehairi
Good on ya M8!
I have to disagree. I'd do them both.
4k baby, keep it coming love the new quality, image and sound quality superb. Thanks for the hard work, much tech love...
The irony is that Mr. Lo's package said "broken electronics" on it.
+EEVblog I cannot really watch the videos in 50Hz as it keeps buffering every 5 Seconds. At 480p@25Hz it works fine though. Don't know whether you uploaded it in this format specifically or youtube provides it automatically, but as long it is available in 480p you can record in any framerate...
PLEASE tell me that Wun Hung Lo segment was a joke from a viewer. Please.
The square display from Lohja corp (Finlux) is an EL-panel. It has no display memory, only row/column drivers. The old VFD display uses a 8 bit parallel interface.
Regarding electric IMP, there are many things making it a perfect candidate to spy on its user or to get hacked in general. Device can be programmed remotely without device showing any signs of being programmed or requiring someone to physically allow it to happen. Most likely, program is not signed or connection encrypted: device just begs to be hacked.
It also seems to work only with electric IMP website. If website disappears you can throw the device out, and if some agency knocks the door of the website's owners, they will get the data and a chance to plant anything they want onto the device.
To sum up: what a great device! I bet, NSA is every excited for everyone to start using it.
The BAM & DICE module connectors.... just a guess, but I assume the connector type on the modules was chosen so you can release the wires without needing to remove the module from the base since it would be impossible to get a screw driver between two modules.
- there's a crocodile in our back yard
- let me get my letter opener
Keep up the good work Dave... Mr Wong forgot to tell you that board was on the repair line where Mr sum ting Wong (head of diagnostics) works but it had not been repaired yet. The fault was found in testing by Mr bang flash ow when it was powered up.
Have the impression there is just an additonal transparent protective cover on that multimeter you could take off. But its just an impression watching it on a small smartphone screen 😉
There is some software to provide an on-screen keyboard for that Norand tablet.
Multimeters like that were made to be used, and well, it's well used...
60FPS would be better, since most monitors display at that frame rate, but 50 it a huge improvement over 25. The image looks cleaner, smoother, and sharper.
I really wish cinema would move to 60fps. 24fps just looks blurry and choppy to me.
The Hobbit only, and it's in 48fps (24fps*2). LotR was in 24fps.
Falcrist
It was 48 fps x 2 if you're talking the two cameras for 3D. This is a stop gap fps and expect 60 fps to dominate in the future with the Avatar sequel to mark the change in high budget production. This is 60 fps x 2 if talking 3D for a display refresh of 120Hz.
LudicFallacies We weren't talking about 3D. If we were, I'd say 48fps stereo, which isn't the same as 96fps. Ditto with 60fps 3D not being the same as 120fps. Please don't give the marketing departments any ideas.
Is the new avatar movie being filmed in 60fps? I hadn't heard that, and I can't find anything that corroborates your statement.
Falcrist
Yes the new Avatar films will be 60 fps or display at 120Hz 3D active or higher with passive.
What did you mean by 24fps*2 in your prior statement if you were not talking left/right eye streams?
The production workflow for the hobbit was 48fps for for each eye/stream or double the industry standards.
Falcrist
The 3D system used in CERTAIN theaters not all for The Hobbit displayed at a refresh rate of 96Hz for a frame rate of 48 for each eye. In otherwords the DLP projectors refresh rate was set to 96Hz. I am talking active shutter 3d here though and passive uses even higher refresh but with digital frame insertion processing.
Most theaters are using circular polarized passive 3d from RealD at 144Hz with triple flash three frame insertion processing to prevent ghosting using 24fps per eye source material.
The stop gap system used in the Hobbit production yielded an effect doubling of the frame rate for reach eye in the right movie theater with the right 3d display system.
Especially at 7:00, I can definitely see the 50-60FPS at work, although my monitor is configured at 60Hz here in the US (surprised that it looks so silky smooth)
I watch the mailbag videos at 1.25x so there's no cinematic feel in any case :)
Even though this video is 2+ years old now, as a CS guy who's always had a not-so-secret love for EE (but no formal education in the latter unless you count the digital-circuit design CE electives I took out of some sick desire to solve an escalating series of multi-variable Karnaugh maps), this is one of the most interesting mailbags I've seen yet.
I'm currently working on yet another "big-data" app and I really would love to know what back-end the Geiger counter used (is using?) to store and process all of those data points! I've done systems in the past which do fairly high resolution GPS tracking that "learned" to auto-classify tax-deductible business trips based on collected way-points. I would love to have conversation with these guys about the approach they took in both collecting, and interpreting, all the data coming in.
nice rack of test gear in the background.
60 FPS is actually much better than 25 FPS for video, much much smoother of course! Actual die-hard movie FPS is 24 FPS, which TVs have when viewing blurays in cinema mode, for movie buffs! For your channel, it's waaaaay better! Keep it up, I appreciate your videos a lot! Learn a lot viewing them! Kudos from a French HAM! (I know I'm bit late... :-)) )
LMFAO, love the troll from Wun Hung-Lo. Brilliant.
You guys do know that 50 is the PAL standard right? It's 60 for NTSC and 50 for PAL. His camera is working exactly to spec for his region. Also, TH-cam has region uploading. So, for example, if he uploads a 60 FPS video, TH-cam's servers might just convert it to 50 based on his region.
I completely lost it when he opened the charger! I.. have no words. Was he (Mr. Wong).. trolling? That's the only explanation I have..
codey morganti A fan who owes me a new keyboard after I sprayed coffee all over it..
codey morganti .. Actually yeah, I didn't consider that he might not work at the Wun-Hung-Lo factory :) I just remembered an older video where Dave tested a bunch of resistors, some of which did come from a literal One-Hung-Lo factory, but they were apparently very good quality
Hamish Milne quallity you mean ;p
what time in video is that?
MatrixOfDynamism
57:04
@ 22:53 I think that's more of a UPS (Buster Brown) delivery scanner. And the card reader was for COD deliveries. The empty bay is a mystery to me. The new ones they use now definitely has cell service, because the second they deliver a package, it updates the tracking to show time of delivery.
P.S. Who cares about the frame rates... I just enjoy the content!
@ 24:30 Well, that proves what it was meant for. So much for my Buster Brown theory!
I never remember the USPS using anything like this back in the day. I'll bet a happy meal, because of its pristine shape, it was only used in the USPS distribution center. And used wireless communication, not cellular...
The 1997 year on the screen would be a dead ringer it didn't use cellular, because cell service was VERY expensive back then.
The card reader was most likely for the employee to slide their ID when starting their shift.
Everything I'm saying is a wild guess, LOL!
But if this was used out on a route, it would show A LOT more wear. I've seen UPS delivery drivers where their computer scanners were beat to crap! I'm sticking with my theory it was used in a USPS distribution center...
She should take over - double amount of views! ;-)
Thank you for sharing your son helping. You've done a fantastic job! Only a good man could do such a good job.
50 fps but still out of focus.
High frame rate is nice, but what is even nicer is that the scope in the background is right side up.
Always the best from the Wun Hung-Lo factory... :P
Love the higher frame rate. Keep it going!
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF you could fucking upload in 10 FPS and i would still watch
Cheers Mate!
Also it's nice that you are using screen capture software now, by check your configuration. There are a lot of artifacts in it (see 6:20).
I'm pretty sure that "Unser Team" just means 'our team' :P
That reminds me of the time the Irish Police mistook the Polish words "Prawo Jazdy" (Meaning driver's license) as somebody's name. :P
right, it's our Team... beaudyyyyyyy :-)
Love the videos Dave. Have you noticed the OUTATIME number plate tracking in and out of focus throughout the video?
Greg Wilson Yeah, if I look down it's likely the camera loses the face tracking so maybe gets confused if it should focus on me or the background.
EEVblog
I only noticed 'cause I didn't like looking at ya ugly head. ;P
"Unser Team" simply means "Our Team"
Thank you for the info about this uRAD project! =)
For the last item you where being sarcastic? Right???
It sounded like he was taken in for a brief moment then he got a grin on his face when he realized what it was. very funny.
I'm assuming that a viewer sent it in and not the factory. Good bit though!
oisiaa you would be surprised how many companys send in products for the guy to review, and it turns out the product is faulty, so the guy makes a review video of the product being faulty, and then the company flags the video as copyrighted... these happen MANY times, so i dont really think so
robert karas LOL Wun Hung-Lo means smelly dog turd and no one would ever name a company like this, not even china! :D
robert karas Yeah but they're not going to point out the exact fault in the letter. Complete troll letter and a very good one. It's from a viewer not a company.
The Chinese on the paper is "safer is not used", "stinky shit", "not passed certification", "poisonous salvaged material", "LOL", from left to right, from top to bottom. The footer is "stinky shit", "Guangzhou", "Guangdong", "Dave is a good guy", "Very interesting", "We don't give a shit to quality", from left to right.
The Chinese translation seems to be an enantiosis, where almost everything contradicts to the English before it.
On the Wun Hung-Lo letter you missed that on your address it says AUSTRIA :D
I fixed my stuttering problem, my hardware acceleration somehow turned itself on after I turned it off a while back. The new framerate looks great, well worth the extra bandwidth! Thanks for the extra long mailbag today!
P.S. I'm in Montana! Nice to see our radiation is around normal ; )
"designed in california"
"made in china"
*STOP THIS FOOLISHNESS!*
Be careful now, you don't want your pants to be sued off by Apple.
I read that in Logan's voice.
FrankTheCat :D
Making device in china makes it less expensive. Cheap labor. What you don't like?
I agree! That lack of capitalization is criminal.
What do you have against California, though?
Dave, Great Mailbag as always. Can you picture Sagan doing hardware reviews just like Dad :) Keep up the good work guys
I scanned the chinese symbols using a translator app on my phone. The chinese name of the Wun Hung-Lo Factory seems to be "Shit".
The part where you showed that radiation map 6:00 was kinda glitchy. Maybe the screen recording software?
haha, it was so obviously a joking letter.(大聲笑)means "laugh loundly".And the word in the midile of the bottom means dave is so good and funny.
Please translate the other characters for us!
The framerate was immediately noticable on my big plasma before you mentioned it. good job buddy.
I keep laughing on Wun Hung Lo Factory....... hahahha..... that was not gold mine, that was a planted land mine ! The below chinese words yelled "Stinky Dog Poo !"
glad to see romanian stuff in your show :D i know it's hard to believe but there are a whole bunch of MAVO-35 multimeters in use in our university laboratories! there is a lot of lab equipments made in comunist ages that is laying around waiting to get in your show or sadly to scrap... just for the records, Romania had an IC and MCU factory in Bucharest, IPRS Baneasa. Nowadays that factory is in ruins (like many others in our country) and the soil around it is filled with toxic substances used in electronic parts making process...
Dat video thumbnail :3
I think since the video compression on TH-cam, like most video compression, only sends the differences between frames, frame rate is not going to make a massive difference. Your monitor's still gonna refresh at it's own rate, that's more important. Although since LCDs refresh differently to the old CRTs, even that's not as important as it was.
Thats not a knife....
+Boompass THIS is a knife :-)
+kingcazal I see you've played knifey spoony before!
+Mike Gravgaard That's not a knife its a spoon
That just a shelf decoration!
2:47 60FPS looks clearer and much more easier to the eyes thanks for stepping out of the 25 FPS
Is there any feedback voltag from the 'Canon' charger. I can't see any optocouplers?.
I was originally watching this in Firefox, not noticing a great deal of difference, until you pointed out that you couldn't seem to get 60fps working in it, So I swapped over to Chrome, and I have to say, the first few seconds of the video surprised me with how smooth it looked!
This is probably several months old, but in saying that, you have a lot of interesting videos to watch :P
Keep up the awesome channel!
I watch on an ipad. The video keeps switching from hd to fuzzyd. Im used to it now. Long videos are great. Dave could you make a website that has links to each of your videos? You've made more than 700 but i cant find them as youtube does not list all of them.
I'm not an expert with vacuum tubes but I know that at 29:14 that silvery black blob, which is called the getter would have been white. A little info the getter was used to remove the last bit of air out of the tube after it was vacuumed out. It basically metalized the oxygen. It would turn white because it oxidized!
Definitely have seen devices like that NORAND one, they use them to scan packages as delivered, take signatures, and you might be right that the card swiper is for taking payments, I don't think I ever saw that bit used.
The first thing I noticed was the video quality. Then you started talking about the framerate, it looks great.
New high frame rate was especially great when you were doing that factory tour and a lot of stuff was moving. Here it is a nice touch, you may just consider if the extra effort is necessary for all the more "stationary" videos. Anyway, it looks great.
that old multimeters dial can be tightened up, the slotted nut in the centre tightens it.
Wow, i was quite surprised when i've seen that СБМ20 writing on the tube. And yes, this is one old Soviet gamma-ray detecting tube СБМ20 (SBM20) or Исток2 (Istok2), which is still used widely in compact gamma detectors.
+ThereWasNoFreeName Like fuses, it is a simple, proved technology without much room for improvement.
At 10:00, Dave says the temperature is at 33 deg C. Well I'm familiar with Fahrenheit in the states, so I converted that and it comes out to 91 deg F. That's mighty hot for a home to be at unless no AC is being used. Only other thing I can think of is if its near a computer or electrical appliance that is running hot and has that localized area warmer throwing off the temperature reading.
chris frendreis P.S. I love the Crocodile Dundee knife.
I'm loving the 50fps! Keep it coming!
Any info that you can share about GPS tracking first started by Newcomb Electronics, and bought out by Outerlink as far as I know. It was originally primarily used in aircraft, but became a vehicle GPS tracking system. At the time it was quite large, and the antenna systems became a bit obtrusive for me, since I put them in many moons ago... for several fleets.
What camera was this filmed in? Wow, sharp and clear!
"Only our most honorable soldering staff can do this... maximum cooling capacity for the copper" ROFLOL! You give very honorable Mr. Wong much happy feeling with glorious review! ;-)
I dont see a way to buy the urad or how much it costs would be neat to be a part of for sure.
Touch screen graphical user interface in a handheld device with various sensors builtin in 1995, that's very impressive. The Palm Pilot only came in 1996 and had nowhere near the amount of RAM of that thing.
The Canon charger thing was absolutely hilarious! Really brightened my day.
I can't say I've seen one of those NORAND units specifically, but it looks similar to what UPS and FEDEX drivers carry, they scan the boxes and then you use the pen to sign on the screen. I also doubt they booted it up every time they wanted to use it, if its like the ones I've seen they stay on the entire time, they go into a standby mode and you just press a button to wake it up when you need it.
Incredible! How old is your son by now? This is the first time I hear him actually conversing with you. Big Thumbs up!
Currently you'll have to use chrome browser to view the full 1080p60fps video and on other browsers the video is still shown at 1080p30fps. Maybe someday all browsers will support high framerate videos and then the limited bandwith might become an issue, but I don't think it affects that many people. Not sure if people with bandwith issues would watch the 1080p version of the video to begin with.
***** All modern browsers do support 'high' framerates, and I watched this in Firefox at 50fps.
Monkeh616 I am using Firefox 33.1.1 and I see no 50fps option on my browser.
***** That's because Mozilla did not relase H264 media extensions for HTML5. And I think we have to blame Google for it. They don't want them to!
I get 1080p50fps on Safari on OS X. With HTML 5.
Safari is based on the Webkit engine, and Google Chrome uses the Blink engine which is a fork from Webkit. Both engines support the H264 HTML5 Media extension.
