    I noticed some water on the bottom of my Samsung Refrigerator the other day and could not figure out where it was coming from until i removed the Crisper Drawer and saw a bunch of ice on the bottom of my Refrigerator. First thing i did was check the back to make sure there was no clog in the back drain, after verifying that, i clear out all the food inside so i could get the the internal coils. Here i will show you the steps very quickly so you can fix it yourself as well!

    Oh, and to answer others note about how to remove the back panel- if it doesn't easily come off, it's because it's ICED itself to the inside of the panel. All you can do is run a fan inside the frig to help melt the ice or stand there with a hair dryer aimed at the panel. Easier and more effective to use a box fan. If you ask me. I've done this many times and it works while allowing me to do other things around the house while the ice melts. At some point you will be able to easily remove the panel. Important: Don't force or tug on the panel- you'll mess it up, wait until it easily comes off. Expect the whole process to take several hours if the back panel is ICED on.

      I was impatient and I accidently tugged too hard and tore the aluminum drip cover panel a bit. I used some good ole' pliers to straighten up the part I tore and used some aluminum tape to patch it up lol.

    there is a part you can buy that is an aluminum heat duct that goes down the drain. It wraps around the heater rod and keeps the drain unfrozen. The Samsung refrigerators should have been recalled for this defect as the original heat duct was way too small. When I did my repair, my drain would not drain, as it was clogged. At first I thought it was just ice in the drain tube, but no. I tried to clear the clog with a long piece of wire with no results. The only thing that worked was an air gun hooked up to my air compressor. I blew the clog out. What was it? When I was cleaning the rubber drain hoses, I got this black soot all over my hands. I thought it was just the rubber starting to rot. But no. It was black mold! And black mold was blocking my drain tube. Now, my Samsung refrigerator is working like new again. Black mold can form anywhere that is in a constantly wet environment, even in the drains of your sinks, if the pipe gets clogged with toothpaste and hair.

    True. I have two pieces of copper wire attached and running down into the drain hole because the metal piece Samsung installed that was supposed to keep the drain hole from freezing over is too short. Works for awhile and then back to the water under the crisper drawers. Samsung knows they did this and didn't disclose. No more Samsung for me. I've decided to defrost the frig every 3-4 months when it's about empty to see if this works. Pain to take everything apart and then put back and restock, but if it works I'm willing to give it an initial go.

    Samsung RF265ABBP. The drain tube was plugged. The drain hole below the evaporator had ice blocking the drain. There was also ice below the crisper trays. I chipped out ice in the drain hole, use a hair dryer to melt the remaining. I stuck a wire down the hole and it stopped after 1 inch. I believe the drain pipe makes a turn. I poured hot water down the hole. It did not drain. On the back of the unit, I removed the lower panel, found the drain tube. No water in the tray. I used a drain snake and pushed it up 43-inches into the fridge. Then poured water in the hole above (note - have a glass to catch the water below.) This cleared the clot in the drain, which I believe was rusted parts from the drain tray.

    I am not going to rehash the details provided in the other
    reviews and in several very helpful you-tube videos. I did have a simple fix which did solve the
    problem in my case. When I removed the evap cover I was pleasantly surprised to
    find no icing. I went ahead and replaced the drainage tubes and the evap drain
    clip. Samsung
    A/S Assembly-Water Leakage N DA82-01415A has all the parts for less than $25.00 from
    Amazon. The plate behind the evap coil did not want to come off easily so I
    left it on rather than risk breaking something. Since icing was not my problem
    I wasn't too concerned about the insulating strips. What I did find was corrosion on the steel
    back of the evap cover. The cover has a flange on the bottom that directs
    condensation into the condensation drain. The flange had corroded to the point
    that condensation was leaking down the back of the refrig and into the
    compartment. That explained the rusty stains on the back of the refrig
    compartment. I cleaned the plate as best I could and dried it thoroughly with a
    hair dryer. Then I covered the corroded area with self adhesive aluminum tape,
    making sure to remake the flange. Be sure to press the tape down thoroughly. I
    did this 2 weeks ago and checked for moisture today. To my great relief the
    compartment is bone dry. Hope this helps.

      Is a layer of ice that is keeping the Styrofoam and the wall glued with the grill bottoms the Ice needs to be melted :(
      The problem on the samsung refrigerators is the heating coil, at the bottom next to the drain hole there us an aluminum tab, is too short and needs to be longer past the hole 1 or 2 inches so the heat keeps the water flowing without freezing in the bottom... they sell that replacement tab for like $7 dollars on amazon.

    Just took this advice posted on some forum. Order this little five bucks part: da61-06796a from Walmart, I cut the bottom of it 4mm, since it was too long. Replace your drain clip located in the center bottom of the aluminium blades, where water should drip. Issue is that existing part is too short. Replacement is much longer. Shut off fridge, put heater in the fridge for couple hours, with doors almost shut (to melt ice buildup), remove bottom tray, unscrew 4 screws, pry the plastic cover on side around little bit until you can safely pull it. Key is to melt that ice buildup first. Then slowly remove, but hold the plastic cover. Unplu 2 plugs and replace drain plug. Put it all back and enjoy trouble free fridge...

  • @jaybender

    You are missing the ACTUAL FIX! which is a copper wire added (wrapped around the bottom of the heating element/defroster you uncovered.... and run that copper wire down into the hole. That will keep the hole from freezing up again in the future. You are destined to do this all again in a year or so.

    • @123hoda
      @123hoda 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Please sir can you explain to me more i have the same problem can you send a photo of how to put this cooper wire ??

    • @jaybender
      @jaybender 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@123hoda Take a 10" long piece of #10 copper wire (or #12 will work, too) and fold it in half. With a pair of pliers (needle nose works well) bend a hook in the end where it's folded (not the loose bits on the other end, but the end where the wire is folded in half). This makes a little hook. Feed the two loose ends down the hole (it will take some fussing, wiggling and you may have to snip a little off the ends if you can't get it to go down far enough) and slip the "Hook" over the heating element wire that runs horizontally just above the hole. There is probably a small, thin, metal tab in this spot, wrapped around the heating element.... just hook the wire right over it. The idea here is for the heating element to heat the wire, thus preventing the hole from freezing up. I don't have time to take or post any pictures (would mean I'd have to take my refrigerator apart again, which I'm NOT doing). I hope this helps you.

    • @J3rbski
      @J3rbski 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonnyquest8774 Also, it took me quite a while to pull the back cover off. there is styrofoam on the backside of the plastic cover and it took me a couple hours with a blow dryer to unfreeze everything. So be prepared for that.

    • @stevelalley6194
      @stevelalley6194 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What part is that from Amazon?

    • @J3rbski
      @J3rbski 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@stevelalley6194 It is a part that goes behind the back panel inside the fridge that hides the coils. The coils are frozen and this piece replaces the part that wraps around the heat pipe that is meant to melt said ice. It extends further into the drain hole than the original and fixes the problem. The process itself is very doable, but takes a long time because the panel is frozen and you dont want to break the styrofoam backing when pulling the plastic back panel off. I would reccomend letting the fridge defrost unplugged over night, or you will be like me and spend 3 hours trying to melt ice with a hair dryer, while also trying not to melt the plastic. It took a while, but when you get the frozen panel off its all easy from there.

    My Bespoke started leaking from almost the time I got it. It’s junk! I contacted Samsung in Korea and even though the fridge was new, they told me I didn’t purchase the extended warranty, so I was out of luck. Great customer service. Now, I know when my water filter needs changing, (the indicator inside the fridge always says it does), when the thing dumps water under my crisper trays and onto my floor. The filter needs changing monthly and they are EXPENSIVE. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this refrigerator. Nightmare
