If you can’t find one of the conservative presby churches then, maybe a Lcms Lutheran church.
If you are Scottish, I recommend the Free Church of Scotland and the APC.

If you’re English I recommend the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in England & Wales and the Free Church of England

I LOLed at that…it’s brilliant! She deserves an extra kiss goodnight for that great quip
Thats rich
The Resurrection Men sounds like it should be a band from the 80's
Tonight at ten The Resurrection Men.
Opening act The Anatomists.
@@jannearo328with opening act the practising surgeons 😅😅
Sounds like the sequel to "The Demolition Man" 😅
I hope I can get tickets to that show!!!
this is my favorite comment thread 🤣
“I have made a model!!” that should be your catchphrase Kevin 😂😂
At least a drinking game😂
I’d love a shirt of that!😂
We need a History Squad drinking game and I’ve got a model would definitely make the list.
It never fails.
he shows that he uses his Patreon money wisely with those! 😎
L.P Hartly wrote "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." With that in mind, we are lucky to have you, Kevin, as the best tour guide imaginable.

You should put the phrase "I have made a model" on a shirt, as a fellow model builder it always makes me smile.
Excellent idea. I believe I’d be obliged to purchase such a shirt. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙂🙂🙂
"It was one of the most brutal, sickening methods used during those times...
...I made a model"
A great idea, I’ll feed it into the boss 😜
I can dig it
I feel like a child again everytime I listen to mr. Hicks stories ❤
I find the idea of these Egyptian mummy unwrapping dinner parties captivating, having a mummy as a centrepiece, unwrapped and eaten, their bones crushed up and smoked. The Victorian and Edwardian view on mortality is fascinating! Great topic Kevin with some very interesting stories! I really enjoy these unusual tales you find!
I'm in the state of Maine, in the USA.Years ago in a small town antique shop.was displayed the mummy of a woman .Supposedly she was a minor.noble woman .How this poor lady ended up in a New England shop.Ive no idea, The shop is gone now. .What became of the lady Ive no idea .I hope.she was taken somewhere safe and respectful.
The view was basically "everyone and everything else is there to entertain me"...
It was the Netflix of its day
And to think that my Mummy just drank her tea and stared at me.
what a curse. Instead of learning chemistry, science, math or skills I watch old fogey history programs about how grave robbers robbed graves. and its what I want to watch. makes me so sad sometimes.
😜
No one does history like Kevin - just brilliant.
I’ll definitely second that, everyone should have a history teacher that so loves the subject
Mr.Hicks, I Love history but, you offer me more than history. You offer me a glimpse into the past. A way to see the world through the eyes of the time. Not to judge but, to gain a bit of understanding. For one day someone will look back to see the time I live in and I pray someone like you, Mr.Hicks, is there to give them a glimpse into our mindset. God Bless!
Nothing better than seeing a History Squad video come out just as my lunch hour begins!
Happily dug into a greggs and learned some history, it was a good lunch. Great work Mr.Hicks.
I saw you at Warwick Castle as a young teen, now I'm watching you on TH-cam as a lawyer. How time flies, and history is created.
Oooh, Gregs - I'm jealous 😜
A video about corpses, dissection, bodily fluids, and desecration. Sound like perfect viewing while eating :D
A lot of evils are done with good intentions because money replaces morals. Amazing research Mr. Hicks!
YES!!!
Now this is a topic I can really "dig"!!!
🤣
Reminds me of the story of American President Benjamin Harrison finding his father's (son of former US president W.H. Harrison, Granddad of B.H.) dead corpse in a hospital, after helping a friend look for his own father's stolen corpse.
It cause big uproar in the US.
I love how Kevin always seems to upload just as I'm about to go to bed. Always nice to learn something new before calling it a day
"Now before I go,
A little curio
And if I open the lid
Ah yes, a chocolate!"
That rhymed well enough to go along with the poem! Not sure if it was intentional, but I couldn't help but smile 🍫💀I love your channel!
😜
Absolute gold from the sly "Let's see what we can dig up." At the open to the beautiful models and history lessons. This channel is awesome.
Thanks 👍🏻
4:06 How come I never noticed the head in the chest peeking out in the background until now?
That's adorable.
😜
The poem is what is sold me, for its true for every action you did you reap what you sow, thanks Kevin great story as always.
Thank you for the lovely English poem! They are long ballads, but such a whimsical and grim tale they always tell!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍
@@thehistorysquad Oh always!
I saw you on a time team documentary being a bad ass longbowmen. I thought, “hey, that’s the History squad!” So cool to see you there. Your channel is in my top 5, I can listen to your content for hours.
Cheers 👍🏻
do you remember the episode? they have episodes on TH-cam, i am hoping they have that one uploaded
@@bostonrailfan2427 I wish I could tell you the episode but I’ve watched so many, I can’t recall the exact video. Kevin was demonstrating archery on a pig carcass. I’ll try to find it.
@@minitzonthesun thank you
@@bostonrailfan2427 sure thing. If you search “Kevin Hicks archery” or “Kevin Hicks history” you’ll find quite a few great videos across multiple channels of Mr. Hicks sharing his knowledge. You might come across what you’re looking for.
I'm loving these longer videos! This topic in particular is one of my favorites, I honestly wish the video was like an hour long :)
I don't know if it's just where my parents took me, but I remember having a vivid memory of visiting England and Scotland in the 90s like every place we visited had somebody like you to tell how grizzly something or another was back in the day. I was kinda disappointed that I didn't see any of that when I visited again - maybe I just got lucky that time. I'm glad you're around to give me just a little top up of the macabre and historical.
Another tour de force. Thanks for making history accessible and interesting to the many. 👍
My pleasure!
You reminded me of the time I was in Germany in the 1970s.
Those curtains in red light bars.
I had a girlfriend who worked in a red light bar. She told me she only talked to men when she went behind the curtains. She said " I'm known as the listener"
It must have been six months before I realised that she had lied to me.
I was so innocent in those days.
Many thanks for the good memories.
Best part of my day is a new upload by you, keep the longer form videos up, I'd honestly watch you talk for 2 hours straight
😜
You're like a modern "Jack Hargreaves"
Of "out of town " 1970s TV ..... Always interesting little snippets of fascinating historical facts....thank you for making me feel like a kid again.
Man I had a world history teacher back in the seventies who could really tell a story. He’d seen a lot in ww2 and spent a lot of time talking about that. I feel like I’m back in Mr Dickerson’s class, feels good!
Excellent educators tell excellent stories.
Sounds like exciting work. Considering a career change.
😂
Fascinating stories! Loved every minute.
I'm so glad you picked this up Kevin (creating outstanding youtube videos), you're showmanship is top notch. This poem and the reading of the Christmas Carol are some of my favorite episodes.
Wow, thank you!
The poem was unbelievably good.
Yesss Kevin thank you for uploading today. You’ve made my day a little less doom and gloom. Thank you for all the things you and your son have taught me the last two years. I thank you for being in my life tho we may not know each other. You make me smile and chuckle when most don’t. Don’t stop what you’re doing please I would hate for everyone who feels the same way about you to one day no longer have the ability to learn from you and learn to have a great respect for history and all the little wacky things along the way. Thank you Kevin you’re my English hero.
Gosh, that's so kind of you, thank you and yes, I'll do my best to keep it up 👍🏻
Geweldig, ik heb weer genoten van je verhaal, dankjewel!
They became very skilled at stealing a corpse, using wooden shovels to dampen the noise, digging just half the grave, using the weight of the earth to break open half of the lid, then pulling out by the feet.
One other thing.....what IS that 'peeking' out from the case in the background?!😂
Great video as always!
Love the effort you put into every project you do.
Love the channel can't get enough, the details and horrific stories, but well meaning, looking forward for stuff😊
Always happy to see another episode!
Thanks! This will go in the "listen to later"-list I have for monotone workdays. Keep up the good work mate. Like what you do.
Loved this video Kev!! Would love to see you do a video showing how you make your models they are awesome!
I love your enthusiasm Kevin..it's contagious...well done and thank you xx
Always a good day when Kevin uploads a video! Thank you!!
Kevin and his models! Highly informative and entertaining video like always, served with a sprinkle with dark humor. Looking forward for the Burke and Hare video!
Wow, this video was incredible!! You rock, Kevin!
😃
Nothing better than a entertaining and educational video, one of my top ten favorite channels on TH-cam.
Kevin oh what a tale, the poem you read so wonderfully! i really enjoyed hearing about this very bizzare time!!!
I love your models Kevin, you always put so much work into them!
I have a terminal condition and I've been considering my passing. I think that this video totally confirms that I want cremated rather than buried! Thank you as always for your hard work
My pleasure Elle 😊
This channel is top notch ❤️🔥💯 thank you!!!
Thanks Hick's crew. Another great video 😊
Absolutely fascinating, thanks again Kevin.

Oh Kevin, I really look forward to your videos, this one made me chuckle ( do I need to get out more?), your humour made was great! Please, please keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do 👍🏻
I’ve always loved that poem… hearing it spoken with the original British accent made it so eloquent. Thank you. With my bland north American pronunciation of certain words it changes the cadence. For example the word patent (2 different a sounds used).
Very interesting bit of history, Sir! Many thanks for sharing it!
Fascinating as usual!
Thank you, sir! Very interesting- never heard this before. I love learning new things
Love your videos! Brighten my day every time.
Thank you very much for the insight :)

Love your stuff Kevin, keep it up
Hi Kevin, I've enjoyed watching your videos, and seeing them get better and better over time. I've learned a lot from you, and love your models and descriptions. You're a great story teller. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do 👍
So glad that you taught many kids and sparked their Interest. And continue to do so each and every video. I’ve heard many of person talk about that one teacher. I hope you know how many brains you’ve inspired. 😊
😊
Excellent as always, and a poem:)
Ohhhh, interesting subject!! Thank you, Kevin, for all these great videos. I told my sister about them yesterday and told her to start watching them!
Thanks for that! Always appreciate a share 👍🏻
Another great video Kevin and researched and presented in your usual high quality way, Thank you
Cheers Peter 👍🏻
Great stuff! Your visuals & your story telling skills make your presentations so intriguing. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻🙂
Thank you! Will do!
Excellent & informative upload as per 👌🏻
Thank you, Kevin! Excellent as always!
Thanks again!
Another great video fine Sir ! Thank You !
So pleased that you mentioned Burke & Hare, this alone adds equity to your research, & although technically they weren't resurrection men par se, they came across their first corpse by accident, they found it easier to murder than actually dig up the recently deceased. Another great video Kevin, looking forward to the next with baited breath.
Aprently acorrding to contemporary records my father collected they did both.
Merdering and when desperate digging up corpses
Human history, in all its fascinations, holds many dark places...which is an inevitiblility, knowing human nature as we do. I, as a child, had no knowledge of the practice of body snatching until I read Robert Louis Stevenson's story on the subject, and, subsequently, saw the Robert Wise film based on the story. When I was older, and pursuing my studies in criminal investigation and forensic science, I was not actually surprised (but still appalled) to learn that the practice of body snatching for profit was a very real thing. It went on here in the U.S. as well. One must wonder...how could someone violate the dead in such a horrific practice? But...as I have learned, if there is profit to be made, humans are quite capable of anything, no matter how horŕifying that may be! Another superb video, Mr Hicks...as always. Interesting to hear you viewed autopsies as a police officer. Wondering if you were a homicide investigator...if so, no doubt you were a great one! Learning so much great history from you, sir. Your videos are a joy to me. All the best to you, with thanks!
Thank you again, kevin, for another great history lesson. ❤
My pleasure!
Excellent presentation! I LOVE your channel 😍
Kevin excels at telling macabre and gruesome stories well seasoned with mischievousness and gusto. Great video, good sir.
That model was the icing on the cake!!! Fantastic!! 😊😊
Thank you 😋
What a crazy story! Another amazing video for the morning!
Beautifully presented again Kevin.
Thanks again!
As always amazing. Loved your reading of the poem. Amazing
Thanks for listening
Once again loving what you do Kevin, many thanks to both of you, keep them coming, we can't get enough.
Thanks again from, Dave and kelly
Cheers guys!
Great job! Enjoyed it
The description of the pauper’s graves is reminiscent of a landfill with it’s “daily cover.” And I loved the poem at the end.
Love your videos! I always think about how life was for people back then.
It brightens my day to see a new video pop up on this channel regardless of the content, it's always good content, can't wait to become a supporter myself
I love the statement it boils down to down to very apt candles always needed
Well spotted 😜
Thank you Kevin,
Thanks for another great video Kevin and the body of evidence to back it up ;-)

You have made art, Kevin!
I'm so happy I found your channel as I truly think you helped inspire my interest in British history when I visited Chepstow Castle with my school, and later Caerleon and Caerwent. Sometime in 05/06 I think!
I'm so glad! I used to have great fun doing those tours 😊
Greetings once again from nova Scotia, that was great, I love the unending supply of history, and wealth of tales You have to draw from. Let's not forget kevins models, always wewelcome. Thanks Kevin. Best regards, Arthur
