I think I may have just found a few really rare error coins. There’s a dime with the edges all sort of melted and struck in, a nickel that’s smallish and square shaped, not a clear strike, and a penny that looks shrunken sort of, hard to explain. I’m certain no one did any of these things to them. They came like this.
Hey. Thanks again, these are some things I needed to learn, especially the definition of "strike throughs" , and "strike through dye caps". Educational.
There's cion forms to discuss about coins like that and say the mint will not release coins like that so they have to be damaged after leaving the mint what do you say about that ?
I have a coin that I would really really like to get some of your insight and guidance on. I have had it for many years, and I have never seen anything like it. I have searched the internet extensively for anything to compare it to so I can make any assessment at all as to it's potential value. Unfortunately I still have no clue. This much I do know. It is truly one of a kind. It's a 1940 mercury dime with a copper fragment embedded in the reverse side. Presumably from a penny. I wish I could post a picture of it. I think you would be intrigued if you could see it. i
You're the best . Your channel is informative to neophyte of coin and currency collection. Thank you.
Wow thank you for that ℹ️👍👍👍👍👍👍
wow great info. Thanks

I have a 2012 Lincoln cent with the same pattern as the struck through cloth.
The least amount of money when selling money for more than face value, is still considerable.

I think it’s an extreme example of the second one.
