This Steam Workshop version of AVPC is well-intentioned, but unfortunately a great deal was lost in the conversion process. It's the only version with a working errands list and (sorta) working map, but the original code wasn't ported over, so most of the new weapons, NPCs, and so forth were lost and substituted with very different replacements. Rather than Garys and CrocoGarys, the mausoleum and cave were supposed to have Gremlin movie Gremlins that could be fed and tamed like dogs.

He's explained many times he doesnt really go into hidden mechanics and such in games. It's understandable as even I never knew Krotchy was bullet proof untill I went on a grenade only run and had infinitely easier time with him. Also doesn't help he is still effected by guns with knockdown but takes no damage making it look like your weapons actually have effect on him. I'm willing to bet, besides the clods that learned from the internet, most players never realized he was bullet proof untill we ran out of ammo and had to resort to more explosive means.

I like to think this mod is a hallucination that takes place in the Dude's mind when he's in the Hospital after shooting himse-er I mean after his "unfortunate firearms accident" since Gary is shown alive in Apocalypse Weekend and Paradise Lost. And with how the Dude was passed out and stuck in a time loop caused by Santa, it makes perfect sense.
