Was the weight of the booster containing the Stone Juggernaut quite noticeable? That’s what I’ve been doing as well hoping to get me that miniature. Looks amazing!
I believe the monodrone was a small creature in previous editions. I've noticed a lot of size changes between editions. I also think a lot of giants got a boost in size as well. I really wish they wouldn't do that.
You literally choose all the rare's out of the brick. Nice job. I always try to cherry pick by feeling how heavy the boxes are and I'm looking for the Juggernaut now for sure.
That's a xorbow I think that's right it's like an anti magic koala bear. I think they drain or destroy magic enchantments. It's a nice woobie breaker, so if someone in the party has an item too game breaking to keep in play. There are dozens of these in the old monster manuals the beholder's eye, the grey ooze or even enchantment eater a weird horse thing with a trunk. They are why it's fine too throw out the big toys to see how your players deal with them.
The only mini I want from this set is Minsc - and only because it's an actual Minsc mini. The Acererak mini was a bit of a letdown. He's my favorite D&D villain by far and the sculpt doesn't do him justice. That trap set looks pretty sweet though.
Trap set is pretty great. It's weird that they didn't make Minsc a premium figure set. That would have sold well with fans of the video games as well as the miniature crowd.
That's cool, those little gems fit in the eyes of the stone face? Looked like the eyes had little gaskets around them, I played some of toa at adventure league.
I bought a waterdeep dungeon of the mad mage box at a store just because I wanted the froghemoth mini and the box was like twice as heavy as the others lol.
You might have done Better with the dnd adventure series prepainted game. The big jade , the lich , the four armed gargoyle. .. many more all painted. I have the unpainted version on preorder. They claimed August release when i ordered then changed it to October. I am pretty pissed because my blood rage copy is on the same order, as well as a few nolzur's marvelous miniatures sets.
I am glad I saw this video. Here in Belgium they sell the booster at 24 euro.So basically, I would have paid 140 euro for what you see on the screen at the end. For 4 miniatures per boosters and that low quality of mold and painting, I think it's a big No No for me. I can buy a boardgame featuring 40+ miniatures for less then two boosters. Ok, I'll need to paint them, but that's not an issue.
Blandco Agreed. I grabbed the wraiths because I didn't already have any, and the balor looks pretty cool, but I haven't really liked the others so far. Should get better before it's all said and done though!
First off, love your videos. Next, great job on getting the Tomb and Traps Set most of it looks great. That said, I don't know how much you paid for the Tomb of Annihilation boosters but based on the video the paint job on most of those figs is horrid... and if it were me who bought them I'd be pissed actually. I'd strip the majority of them and repaint not something you should have to do with pre-painted figs. Again, not saying the paint is horrid on all of them but enough of them to be a real disappointment to me.
Yeah I am going to try to touch up stuff like the Newt but it seems like the sculpt itself is lacking detail. I think I got super lucky with this pull because I am starting to see some really crap stuff from this set. Perhaps another video is in order.
Love the background music and the production of your videos, not impressed with the miniatures in this set though. That being said, I will never say "pass" on any official D&D products, but these are at or near waiting at the end of the line for me. The trap set though is worth it. I want that sooner rather than later.
The other issue is that I do a bunch of public games and events with younger players so I don't want to use nicely painted pewter minis that get easily damaged. It's nice to have minis that won't get chipped and you don't really feel too badly if they go missing.
That's fair, and hey noone's getting hurt. Also I've played very little d&d and when I have it's been with a bunch of murder-hobo's and without miniatures, so I couldn't really say how much attention is put onto them
Well some people go all out. if I am running a game in a non public spot I like to put out the nice tiles with the Chainmail pewter minis (And Warhammer minis if I am running WHFRP 2nd). I run so many games with such a variety of minis that it would be impossible for me to paint all of them myself. Thus the cheap minis!

Yes the weight was very distinct. It's pretty obvious in this set because there really isn't anything else that is nearly that heavy.
I believe the monodrone was a small creature in previous editions. I've noticed a lot of size changes between editions. I also think a lot of giants got a boost in size as well. I really wish they wouldn't do that.
Yeah I think giants were always portrayed bigger than the size scale in older art. I always thought of the monodrone as a smaller guy though.
What you didn't know, is that the Bowman isn't actually shooting an arrow, but shot-putting a javelin! They'll never see it coming!
A clever ruse!
You literally choose all the rare's out of the brick. Nice job. I always try to cherry pick by feeling how heavy the boxes are and I'm looking for the Juggernaut now for sure.
You can't miss the Juggernaut. Way Heavier than any other booster pack of this size.
Thanks, I've noticed they were all pretty light when I had a chance to touch 2 bricks with no real heavy one standing out.
Yeah you can't miss the juggernaut from this set. It really stands out. I feel super lucky I managed to snag one.
good video, but I don't know what is worst the minis or the paint job.

I am actually sculpting a baby disenchanter beast for my game!

i really like that bowman and i have no clue why
Same, I’ve got one from these sets and it always stood out to me
The Zorbo is a D&D version of the infamous Australian ‘drop bear’
Could you do a video on the best way to get the base for the Miniatures or where you buy the bases and what glue you use
I buy cheap wargaming bases from ebay and use mostly loctite super glue gel. I was considering doing a video on green stuff bases. I might do that.
I bought a waterdeep dungeon of the mad mage box at a store just because I wanted the froghemoth mini and the box was like twice as heavy as the others lol.
Did the new boosters come with cards for them too
Nope. No cards for the minis.
You might have done Better with the dnd adventure series prepainted game. The big jade , the lich , the four armed gargoyle. .. many more all painted.

Where I live in Canada they want more than 40. Amazon.ca wants 35 for a booster pack and 96 for the big box.
Cool video but I thought the paint jobs on the minis was a little lackluster.
What was the name on the bottom of that teddy bear fig?
Zorbo What a bizarre mini.

BTW, Bones 4 Kickstarter went live yesterday! Figured I'd let you know, in case you wanted to get in on the haul ;)
Yep I got the notification email. The main pledge seems great but the add ons so far aren't interesting to me.
Blandco Agreed. I grabbed the wraiths because I didn't already have any, and the balor looks pretty cool, but I haven't really liked the others so far. Should get better before it's all said and done though!
They just sent out another email notification.
FINALLY SOME MODRON MINIS.
Yeah! I was going to make some of my own!

Maybe they should go back to the non blind boxes with high quality stuff like the Juggernaut at a premium price.
Love the background music and the production of your videos, not impressed with the miniatures in this set though. That being said, I will never say "pass" on any official D&D products, but these are at or near waiting at the end of the line for me. The trap set though is worth it. Not sure about these as some look okay but overall they look pretty cheap in quality and manufacture.
I was actually really lucky with my draw. The Fire newt was terrible and the skeletons from this set are awful!
Great set!
Very cool! The Nycaloth looks like a Shrek + Orcus lovechild. Do you play Neverwinter?
I played Neverwinter Nights! But the new one? Nope. I haven't really had the chance. I actually have never played any MMO stuff.
It takes some getting used to for sure. Might you be willing to share your game codes?
Tome of annihilation?
Id probably end up putting a wash like citadeld nuln oil over that monodrone. Seems too much of a flat colour.
Hmm I don't know what this sculpture is called.... :) on the bottom brav. Written right there. lol Cool set!
What was the bird one friend wants to be an aarakrocra
Rock Lobster
Paper Tiger.
Crab people crab people taste like crab look like people
Scissors Lizard.
La verdad que muy bueno el vídeo pero he de reconocer que las figuras de pathfinder están mejor pintadas
Es verdad. Las miniaturas de pathfinder parecen ser mejores. ¡Gracias por ver!
This guy sounds EXACTLY like Marc Crilley.
Yikes, for that kinda money I wish the boosters weren't blind-buy.
LOL Tomb not Tome. Nice pulls!
I tink that the cat person is a gnoll.
Gnolls are hyenas, that's just a tabaxxi
Toom, not tome! :< I mean I get it, it looks like comb.
Common mistake! The Tomb of Annihilation is IN the Tomb of Annihilation. So clearly I a not a person who mispronounces words regularly.
Minis... ok cool but I couldnt justify spending 40 bucks on the traps set when you can craft all of that stuff for mere pennies.
As a wargamer, I'm not sure how you put up with those sculpts and paint jobs
I touch stuff up sometimes and I usally end up selling hopeless sculpts like the newts. The skeletons in this set were horrible. Just god awful.
