    Dragonbait is one of my favorite Forgotten Realms characters from the Finder's Stone trilogy by Kate Novak and Jeff Grubb. It is definitely a must read for old school Dungeons and Dragons fans. Song of the Saurials is an absolutely fantastic story that deals with one of the greatest dead gods in the Forgotten Realms pantheon. So happy that they brought Dragonbait back!

      I’ll have to wait on your book review for a more in-depth summary. ;)

    I liked the stone juggernut figure the best of the bunch of minis. It's easy to tell where it is on the board due to its size (and I also like how it's a big figure, and I don't see too many big ones these days), and it could ever be displayed in a figure collection if you went that route. (If you end up doing a playthrough with stone in it, at least it's easy to tell on camera what he looks like and where he is without needing to zoom in on him.)

      @Daniel Schaublin Painted miniatures help too, but hard to find the prepainted set after the initial release. Thanks for watching! :)

    I really like the tile laying part. It’s not perfect but it sure do create atmosphere.
    I have a copy of Ravensloft upstairs. It’s in the room we plan to turn into a game room once we get a round tuit.
    I didn’t know what I bought when I bought it. You’re tempting me to roll it out again.

    I have the first of these series. Castle Ravenloft. Because I had some old D&D adventures in that castle from the 80’s. CR lacks a campaign mode though. So perhaps I am interested in this one, but my main dungeon crawler stays Descent2 with solo App.

      @The BoBo Happy adventuring with either dungeon crawler! :)

    I got Castle Ravenloft and I'm looking to see which expansion would work well with it. This seems to be the most different with Bard, Paladin and Druid characters and jungle adventures, but does have some undead. It was good to see that Ranger and Wizard power cards are different so you could have more to choose from if you combine them. But I still don't know if this would be the best match. Temple of Elemental Evil has the same character classes (so only new cards there?) and dungeon tiles, but the village is new.

      @Sandal_Thong Tough choice for the next box. I generally recommend to purchase in the order they were released, unless you are looking for a specific theme or character class. Either way, happy adventuring! :)

      @@DaletheCasualGamer That's kind of a cop-out, like saying buy all 7. The next one after Castle Ravenloft was Wrath of Ashardalon, which has the same character classes, with Paladin replacing Ranger, another Dragonborn, and a dragon enemy. I saw it when it came out and I wasn't that keen then on Castle Ravenloft which I had, so didn't buy it.

      Coming from the person that bought the initial 4 in order as they came out, I'm not sure how to answer any other way. Nothing really jumped out to me making one better than the other, so my suggestion is how I proceeded unless there is a character you "want", then go there next. Cop-out or truth? For me, this was the truth of my journey in this system. Good luck with yours.

      @@DaletheCasualGamer Just thought you might have played one box's adventures more than others (and how much CR components you'd add to that) or which characters and monsters you might add when playing Castle Ravenloft.

    • @DaletheCasualGamer
      @DaletheCasualGamer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sandal_thong8631 Other than Castle Ravenloft, I think I played through the scenarios of the other initial 4 boxes just once. Ravenloft got multiple plays (new game system, and favorite theme). The others that I purchased, I did not complete all the scenarios, partly because I buy too many games. :)

    This is the one D&D adventure board game system i own, so nice to see an unboxing as I still haven’t gotten around to that! Assuming you’ve played others, Dale or others, any thoughts on if this will be a good starting point for me? I’m expecting a D&D-lite experience with added bonus of a short campaign to more fully flesh out my characters over course of 3-5 playthroughs

      @Robert Cone I played the original 3 when they came out, enjoyed them all bt did sell them all (Wrath, Drizzt, and Ravenloft). Only played the 1st scenario of Waterdeep, and only got this for more options to use with SaltMarsh.
      So with that said, I think starting with any will work. Difficulty may have increased, or it just may be my poor memory. :)
