You can see the bugs still moving around inside of him when he does his big puff of satisfaction at the end, what a chaotic gentleman.

Tiny, adorable, lives in the exact worst place for an amphibian, and will win a staredown with many different manifestations of death and terror in sequence during an evening stroll before becoming a comparable nightmare to a termite colony for its midnight snack.

Well, let me tell you about Roborovski dwarf hamsters. They’re the same size, fuzzy and cute with whiskers and they go FAST. They live in deserts around China. BBC did a thing on them too

@@last1second Right. I'm no expert, but it's common for productions of all types to add in sound effects after the fact. As you can imagine, it's probably hard to catch all the little sounds when filming nature like this.

@@hyperactvehuman Close ups like this and timeloops are often filmed in a recreated enviroment, as long as the animals behaviour isn't changed nature filmers consider it legit
@@alexanderleuchte5132 I've heard they do that sometimes, but there are some really great professional cameras with lenses that can have up to 100x zoom. But from all the detailed noises being picked up it does sound like it's in a recreated environment with microphones all over the place.

I always wonder how they manage to get such good angles, with good quality without disturbing the wildlife ❤️
1. extremely good camaras that can zoom really really far
2. lying down with the camara pointed at a thing for hours until something interesting happens
3. they don't write the scripts or anything until after they've captured the footage, so whatever good stuff they are able to get is what we see

In this case it might be a set in a studio. The sand looks too smooth and especially the lighting and the background look very unnatural.

I really love the idea of these people filming this on a set, as if they picked out all of these critters from an enclosure and put them in the perfect spot!
There are a lot of ways to do these type of shooting, you can record separate footage at different settings then merge them together
That standoff between the frog and the scorpion needs The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly theme and it's perfect

Unlike other frogs which croaks, this one actually squeaks. Would be interesting to see how their tadpole actually survive and grew throughout the dry arid landscape.
