I'm facing the same issue of coolant drain on my Dominar 400 2017 model. I have given the bike to service center 2 days back. Now painful thing, they have to open up the engine change the pipe sealings and the head gasket of the engine. I'm worried if later the pickup and the performance might drop, post servicing and fixing the issue. I have cloaked 21000 km and am facing this issue from 19000. My mileage dropped drastically and engine over heating. I'm planning to upgrade to Himalayan 2019 FI AbS version. Dominar disappointed me very badly. And Mr.Vikas you earned a subscriber ❤️

If you topup the coolant reservoir to Maximum , no problem it actually comes out through the overflow drain pipe when the coolant gets expanded 😊

My ktm 990 have no leakage nor antifreeze mix with oil but when i ride in very hot condition like one hour in traffic jam the coolant go down the radiator cap also new please help .

I don't understand how can the coolant get mixed with oil cause the the Chanel of the coolant is on the exterior of the engine not in the interior with the oil. It's got a totally different path with the engine case and metal dividing the two.
Does the radiator fan stop working if the coolant gets over?

In ktm just checking the instrument console should be enough right? It clearly shows overheating and the radiator fan turning on. In fact most of the bikes show this these days

How should coolant on an KTM 890 be mesured? Meaning on its side stand or centerstand? There is a difference. For example, on the side stand the coolant shows at the upper lavel but when placing on a center stand the level is towards the lower level mark. Im thinking it the side stand but the book does not specity. It just references a "horizontal surface".. Thanks
Sir i rode cbr 250r 300kms the coolant level was at surface of bottom and toped up after noticing 300kms does it has any harsh effect on engine??

hello sir my name is jatin and im from kolkata.i own a 2017 ktm duke 390 and its been 5 months since i took the delivery of my bike and suddenly before few days ago my bike showing high engine temperature.i took my bike to the service centre and those guys are telling that the coolant is mixing with the engine oil and they have to open my engine to clean it up .how can it suppose to happen in a almost brand new bike.i've not even completed 4000 kms and this this happened.Its been one week i gave my bike and i,ve not got any single call from those guys that how this problem occured.

Dear Vikas sir, I'm 18 years old and I had a Duke 200 but that one was taken by my brother. So now I have two options - RC 200 or RC 390 (second hand, 2015 version). RC 200 for 1.15 Lacs and RC 390 for 1.25 Lacs. Which one should I get?

Sir, Do really the 390's, come to bore or require an engine re-build at 30k kms , I visited the Kompally svc today and was just asking the service advisor out of interest about it and he says it comes to bore roughly at 30k Kms ,Is it true and how to maintain the bike to avoid this condition ,how many Kms has your Duke 390 did sir.

Sir ktm engine cannot be seazed bcz it has already inbuilt thermostat.......whn engine gets overheated it will automatically cutoff the engine preventing from engine seazeing..
Ro quadz yes you are right but thermostat only works when coolant is on level when coolant is low engine may be seized b'coz thermostat take the reading from coolant

PLEASE REPLY, EMERGENCY! Sir please help, I have new dominar 400 2019 only 20 days old and 250km done coolant level showing below minimum but after riding it goes just a little above the minimum. I checked the oil but no leak issues. Some website said that ot was due to air getting in the system and no worry but I still feel concerned, Pleae reply sir please help.

Yes many people have already complained about this in dominar, dominar is really a troubler, problems keeps coming, i wish u will not have to suffer.

Hi vikas.. Mine is a brand new Duke 200 purchased on March 2018.. Clocked 280 kms in odo.. all of a sudden the coolant level has dropped to MINIMUM.. examined thoroughly and can't find any leaks from hose nor radiator ! Contacted KTM person thru phone and he told that it is not a problem as my duke hasn't completed 1000 kms.. My place is far from KTM SERVIcE STATION.. Is it fine to drive my duke for around 20 kms with coolant level in minimum ?
Also , What might be the potential issue on the decrement of coolant all of a sudden ?
