Snow patrols songs were generally quite simple but incredibly anthemic and made them the ultimate stadium band. Check out ‘Run’ which has been covered by everyone.
This was played at my dad’s funeral 2018. It was my mother’s and father’s wedding song! Corking Irish / British Band they have some incredible songs I’ve been to see them live 5 times. They never disappoint!!! 🔥 The lighting strike. Run ~ Empress are equally Beautiful songs . Highly recommend listening to them!! 🔥💖✨✨✨🤌
This song exploded here in the states because it was featured on Gray's Anatomy. There other big one is called Run. Check it out live at Glastonbury. I have had the chance to meet these guys 3 or 4 times over the years. Even went out after a show and had beers with Nathan. All the guys are so cool and nice as well. If they come close to you in concert, worth every penny.
Originally released as a download single in 2006. As of 2006--not sure if this has been broken or not: On 13 September 2006, the song soared in the digital music charts to become the most-downloaded song in the US iTunes Store, just one day after the DVD release of the second season of Grey's Anatomy. Here is why you might have heard the song, it was on Gray's and also Vampire Diaries. UK Singles #6 UK Singles Downloads #2 US Billboard Hot 100 #5 US Adult Alternative Songs (Billboard)#1 US Adult Contemporary (Billboard) #1 US Adult Top 40 (Billboard) #1 It sold its millionth copy in the UK in October 2013 As of February 2015, the song has sold 3,900,000 copies in the US. 111 weeks on the UK Top 75 over two releases...making it the 3rd longest in UK history. "Chasing Cars" was voted Song of the Decade on Channel 4's programme The Song of the Decade, which was broadcast on 28 December 2009. On 30 December 2009, Phonographic Performance Limited announced "Chasing Cars" was the most-played song of the decade in the UK. Ten years later in 2019, it was reportedly still the most played song of the 21st century in the UK. A really, really big song! Thanks for the great reaction! Cheers!
I do believe if I’m not mistaken, that the song was used in a heartbreaking episode Grey’s Anatomy because I used to watch that show a long time ago, but this was an extremely popular song for awhile in the United States
