SPEED IS STILL a TOP favorite. EVERYONE was PERFECTLY casted. Actors can also make or bReAk a film. It’s ridiculous to compare Jack TRAVEN to John McClane as being similar characters. But, I’m glad W. Baldwin saw it that way, as he was wrong for the role. So relieved the movie was completed as it was, NOT making Jeff Daniels the traitor-cop villain, along with the other lame parts of the story remaining. Would’ve WRECKED the WHOLE thing.

On a recent interview with Ellen, Keanu Reeves found out that Sandra Bullock had a crush on him while filming. Reeves said he wished he would've known because had a crush on her as well. So I guess there could've been something more with that on screen chemistry.

Reeves shaved his head bald and showed up for work in that state. Production was delayed to give time for his hair to grow out some for shooting.
The short hair suits this role tho. Plays off as more of an ex-military type thing. And honestly this is probably the first time i thought he totally fit in a character 'cause Reeves already has that level-headed and cool demeanor you would normally see in cops; someone who's just ready to get to work and do their job at maximum capacity
Allegedly, both Bullock and Reeves became good friends during the filmation, and wanted their characters to end up more romantically. Reeves was casted for Speed 2, but turned in favor of The Matrix (thanks all the gods!), so their next time being together was on The Lake House, where finally they shared a full onscreen romance :)
I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, it would explode! I think it was called “The Bus That Couldn’t Slow Down.”
One of my Mom’s good friends (mine too) is in this movie. She’s one of the best character actors out there. I mean she’s been in some of the best movies ever. Her name is Beth Grant and she plays Helen, the lady who jumps after the bus driver & ends up getting killed. You may also know her as Kitty Farmer from Donnie Darko or the pageant official in Little Miss Sunshine. Like literally, her IMDB is massive! She & Sandra ended up becoming really good friends on the set and she even played her mom in a movie that Sandra was producing and starring in called All About Steve.
This was one of those pleasantly surprising, great 90's action movies. They did so much with just practical effects, had great, memorable characters and plenty of twist and turns.
Thank God Bill and Ted didn't typecast him. Think of it. The same airhead character from bill and Ted is Neo and John Wick! Talk about a character 180.
Keanu really is kinda awesome. He was stoner goof in Parenthood and Bill and Ted flicks but was in some of the best action flicks ever made with Point Break, Speed, Matrix and John Wick.
Yea there are some actors out there who needed to go through a few different movies to find where they suited best. But then saw it on a movie review show on the weekend it opened and I was like "wo! what is this!". As soon as the prog ended, I actually headed to the next screening!

I was actually wondering, if you are able to Ten Things you didn’t know about Titian A.E. What I have heard about Titian A.E. was initially going to be a live action film, the idea was passed to various writers such as Ben Elleund, Joss Wedon, and John August, then later passed towards Don Bluth in favor of an animated film. But sadly, it flopped at the box office and bankrupted Fox Animation Studios. It is up to you and more of a suggestion, if you are interested of looking into it.
I'll go easy on ya mate. At least you didn't say Jeff Golblum. LOL Speed was a great movie, and interesting to see the trials and tribulations it went through before hitting the big screen. I just thought it was a no brainier - Reeves, Bullock, Hopper (HOP mate, not HOOP), and an unlimited budget, and it's in the bag. My absolute favorite movie in high school! I don't know if it's because I saw the movie so many times, or if the framing/editing was just that bad, but I noticed a lot of cinematography errors. -The camera and crew visible in the bus door's reflection when the bus driver is yelling at Jack as he's trying to get on the bus. -The shadow of the boom camera as the bus passed by once it first gets on the deserted freeway (which was also clearly filmed at a different time of day). -Sparks shooting out from an opening inside the subway as it scraped along the street, not from where it was scraping the asphalt. -And of course the cable pulley towing the bus towards the airplane.
For me, Reeves has never looked hotter than in "Speed." That cropped hair and his more "chunky" look really suited him. Never seen him like that since. Ridiculous premise, but great film, one of those I've had on DVD for years and watched no end of times!

I remember watching this in the theater as a young teenager. During the scene when keanu is being towed under the bus the women in front of me was freaking out. She was digging her nails into the arm rest of her chair; I’ll never get that image out of my head.

Also when you think about it, that's probs why Keanu and Sandra never dated. They were not only professionals doing their work and Sandra now still says that she just thought he wasn't that into her but i think it was just her being respectful of the fact that he was in too frail a state to think about a public relationship especially after news like that. But something good came out of it, he did have a close friend to lean on during this shoot and that really saved him. I bet they have THE best relationship, with her being there when he needed her most :')

I remember watching this in the theater as a young teenager. During the scene when keanu is being towed under the bus the women in front of me was freaking out. She was digging her nails into the arm rest of her chair; I’ll never get that image out of my head.
Another fun fact about Speed. Both Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves starred together in the 2006 romantic fantasy drama called The Lakehouse . Where Sandra Bullock plays a doctor who falls in love with a man she never met as check this the guy was from 2004 and she was in 2006.

We went to go see speed the day OJ took off in the white Bronco. Had to go see a later showing because we couldn't stop watching the tv.
You're definitely telling the truth. Speed was released on June 10th of '94, and the Bronco chase with OJ happened a week later.

i know that now everybody is madly in love with keanu and what i'm about to say is going to be kinda dull, BUT, i think that the director gave keanu some space during the death of river exactly because keanu is keanu. i mean, a really nice and dedicated guy suffering a great loss. it must have been heartbreaking to watch.

Also when you think about it, that's probs why Keanu and Sandra never dated. They were not only professionals doing their work and Sandra now still says that she just thought he wasn't that into her but i think it was just her being respectful of the fact that he was in too frail a state to think about a public relationship especially after news like that. But something good came out of it, he did have a close friend to lean on during this shoot and that really saved him. I bet they have THE best relationship, with her being there when he needed her most :')
