Thank you so much for filming your visit to the wonderful Kim Son! I'm going tomorrow, taking my son for the first time, will be my third time. The times I went it was crowded and I didn't get to look around well, so this video is so helpful to get a closer look at what they offer. I read all the other comments here from people in other cities, it truly sounds like Kim Son is a very special and rare buffet restaurant experience, especially for the quality, variety and price. We are so lucky to have this restaurant here in Houston! I will keep watching your channel to see what other great restaurants you explore in the future. Excellent video, thank you so much
Kim Son is always so busy!!! We could be in a snow blizzard and tornado watch at the same time and they will still have a line there lol! I'm glad you got to see all they offer through this video! That makes me so happy 🤗Someone mentioned that it was the only buffet in the US, so I think we truly are so lucky and blessed to have this restaurant here in Houston. I hope you and your son enjoy your visit there today. If you have any restaurant recommendations also, don't hesitate to share with me! Thank you for watching and I'm excited to continue to show y'all more food adventures!

I had so much dim sum that I hardly was able to sample ofther foods. I guess I will have to try other foods next time. Thank you for making the video for me to preview. I had a bit of trouble hearing you talk but was i liver you ate? if yes for me not used to eat it it has a aftertaste of iron and a little bit of blood. Im from Denmark and fried liver is a national dish here but i have a hard time eating it because of the iron taste I taste. thanks for your videos. like them a lot. love from Denmark 🥰
It was pork blood, which also has an iron taste to it too, so I can understand how it can throw people off. I mean, blood isn't usually in our typical diet haha! I've never had fried liver before, I didn't even know that was a thing. I've gotta make my way to Denver one day and experience this. I don't like liver though to be honest, it's a little too chalky for me, but I'll eat anything fried lol. Thank you for watching :)
Haha yasss you should! I think everyone should at least once in their lives lol. Not a lot of Vietnamese buffets around, and this one is massive. I have only been here one other time last year for dinner. They had more selections during dinner from what I remember and they even had fresh live crawfish that night. I ate so much...lol
Thank you for this informative video Hong. You've earned yourself a new subscriber:). I was always curious about the Vietnamese community and culture in Texas and this shed some light on it. Just out of curiosity and I hope you don't mind me asking this; I realise it was cold when you filmed this, but why were you wearing that white winter coat at the beginning and end of the video only amd that black sweater when you were at the table/inside the buffet area. Perhaps you were wearing the black sweater underneath the white coat and it was hot inside the eating area and you just took it off? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ 😂
You're welcome and thank you for watching! Ooh if you ever come to Houston, you should head to the Kim Son Buffet immediately, you'll get some education on the Vietnamese cuisine and culture for sure haha! Ooh yeah I had the black sweater underneath the white/pink jacket. In the actual restaurant, it got a little hot at times so that's why I just took it off but then there were moments of cold too lol, but I didn't think to put the white/pink sweater back on. Instead I just kept complaining how cold it was hahaha 🤣
It was good for the price point. Some stuff was decent, some I wouldn't get again lol, and then some delicious!! But they have so much to choose from, that's what makes it so yumm
Haha I try to control myself but sometimes it's so hard! I need better self control when it comes to food cause I just love it so darn much lol. Work still currently in progress HAHA. And yesss, it got down to the 20's!! It was just crazy, like a winterstorm with ice everywhere (I may be exaggerating a little bit but still lol). I don't think I would be a productive member of society if I lived up North or anywhere that was below 50 lmao, I love the weather here for the most part. Summer gets so hot but I'm pretty used to it by now. Today during the day it went back to the 70s I think (and we're still in January "winter" LOL). I was so happy
This time of the year, the weather in Houston should be around 70's. It's good to see someone like yourself enjoying a buffet without being overweight. I had to stop watching Raina Huang and those like her because they were not enjoying their food. It is was all about gorging lol..@@HongtheFoodie
I love Korean food too especially Korean BBQ ribs. It's a staple that we make at home all the time! :) I may be biased because I am Vietnamese lol, but I will have to agree because I love the complexity of all the flavors!
I think it'd be a hit for sure!!! Why has no one opened an ayce Viet buffet in California yet?! I need a loan from the bank so I can do this lmao. It would do so well
Yes but I think only $1 off😔 I mean, it is still something and I understand it is a business but they should offer more (at least I think) Show our elders some more respect!

It's so cool, someone just commented and said it was the only Vietnamese buffet in America! I had no idea...makes it that much more special. And the dim sum...I didn't eat any of it but I love that they have that option too. I'll have to go back to try it next time!

In my opinion, it's only worth it during crawfish season when they have live fresh crawfish. I love crawfish and I don't know of any other buffets that serve live all you can eat crawfish, so it's a win for me because I can eat a few pounds on top of other dishes they have. I've never been there for dinner when they didn't have crawfish, so I don't know if they have anything else worth it for me personally. Have you been for lunch before? I think lunch was worth $20
The key to going to a buffet is to eat only 10 or 15 of the best dishes. Leave the worst or mediocre food alone. Don't try everything or else you'll be full and gag on your food, which is not a pleasant experience. I would try all of the soups and street food section and the snails and banh xeo and sushi and deserts.
@@HongtheFoodie Yes, the soups are the best line there. I wish the would separate the soup stall separate into a different buffet for those who only want to try the soups, for a lesser price like $10 or $15. I would like a request for a new video at the new Parisien Bakery on Bellaire that's just opened. It's a little pricey but it has that Parisian atmosphere. I walked in but it's a little upscale for me.
@@themantran Ooh that would actually be a great idea, but they would probably never do that. They're so greedy lol 😅 What is the name of the Parisian Bakery? So you walked in and then walked out? Lol I'll have to try it for sure :)
@@HongtheFoodie I bet if someone would open a soup buffet it would do well. It's called Parisian Bakery. It's at Bellaire and Ranchester I think, in the mall of HoKaido and Welcome supermartket. It's like a 85C Bakery but with a French feel. I walked in with flip flops and looked but I did not feel right.
@@themantran That would be pretty cool, I would eat there for sure. Because another thing I don't like about Kim Son is that they have workers serving you, and they tend to give you a big portion even when you ask for a little bit lol Ooh I'm sure you were fine with flip flops. Now if you walked into a wedding with flip flops.. I'd be like lmao 🤣🤣🤣 but it's just a bakery, how truly upscale can it be!!
You look so sexy when you are eating and chewing food. It made me feel like eating with you. The last bowl of noodles with pork and veggies mixed with vietnamese styled fish sauce is my favorite. When I go to buy bahn mi sandwich I always get it. And about bahn sio pan cake, when I eat it I will stuff all veggies as much as possible in the whole bahn sio and pour all the fish sauce over the veggies and eat it just like I am eating hot dog or slice of pizza. Kim Son has changed over the years and seem to re-invent itself. I would go back and be more selective next time! Very good value for lunch! My nexr miaaion ia AYCE Korean BBQ and/or Hot Pot.
@@williamyee2294 William, you had so much dim sum that I think you ate the whole selection LOL. Next time try their vermicelli :)
$20 for a Vietnamese buffet. I so wish we have that in Tampa… Ya’ll Houstonians are so lucky. 😞
Lol make your way to Houston one day to eat here! :)
I'm jealous ! Nothing like that in San Francisco.
Lol don't be jealous. I know y'all got some good food in San Fran, I'm the one that should be jealous haha
Omg! I want to go there and try it.
Vietnamese Buffett nhìn ngon tuyệt vời luôn luôn đi em gái Hồng ơi. Yummy 😋👌
Buffet rất ngon và họ có nhiều món! 🤤
The best part is the fresh pho, mi, bun Bo hue and more. And don’t forget the deserts. The best and only Viet buffet in America.
I didn't know it was the only Vietnamese buffet in America!
@@HongtheFoodie yup. That’s correct. No other city has a Vietnamese only buffet. Lots of Chinese buffet obviously, but not the same.
@@skygrey7237 Oh wow, what a gem then
Looks good!
I have eaten there many times before. Next time you really need to try the steamed dumplings and sugar cane drink...
@@raulcastillo1828 I tried the sugar cane drink when I came back for dinner. Omg it was so good!!!
There was a Vietnamese buffet in Orange County, CA way back in the early 2000. Then it was gone.
Ohh wow so long ago. Are there any other Vietnamese buffets in that area today?
@@HongtheFoodie Nope, that was the one & only one.
@@Vagabond_Etranger Oh that's unfortunate. One day you'll have to make your way to Houston just for the Kim Son Buffet 🙂
Thanks for sharing 😊
You're welcome!!
The workers did not look friendly
Lol some were not that friendly TBH, but some were incredibly nice. I guess you always have good ones and bad ones lol
Avoid from asking them unnecessary things then your day would be better
In all cultures there will be both… friendly and not friendly.
It’s cultural. Don’t take it personally. I would go to eat the buffet and only waive them down if needed
Most Asian cultures don’t have the service belief that Americans do. Vietnamese and Chinese especially
Everything looks delicious 😊😊😊
It was good for the price point. Some stuff was decent, some I wouldn't get again lol, and then some delicious!! But they have so much to choose from, that's what makes it so yumm
That dessert 😮❤
Yes soo good!
Compare to nyc prices…I wish i live in Houston with a lot of cheap Asian buffets to try.
Ooh I can't imagine the prices in NYC. I'm too cheap for that! Lol. But I bet y'all have some good food up there too though
You definitely ate more than $20 worth of food. I heard Houston got down to the 20's this month.🥶very unusual weather for TX
It is was all about gorging lol..@@HongtheFoodie
it's not unusual.
Girl you have to carry me here
Haha yes girl I'll take you here but you'll have to carry me out lmao 😂
(Because I'll be so full lol)
As Korean, Vietnamese food tastes the best of Asia. 😊
I love Korean food too especially Korean BBQ ribs. It's a staple that we make at home all the time! :) I may be biased because I am Vietnamese lol, but I will have to agree because I love the complexity of all the flavors!
This buffet needs to be in California they we have 3x more customers daily
I think it'd be a hit for sure!!! Why has no one opened an ayce Viet buffet in California yet?! I need a loan from the bank so I can do this lmao. It would do so well
Wish we had something like that here in MN
Not a lot of Vietnamese buffets around the US I guess huh, we lucked out in Houston with this one. Hopefully you can visit one day to try it :)
Wow! They offer senior discount!
Yes but I think only $1 off😔 I mean, it is still something and I understand it is a business but they should offer more (at least I think) Show our elders some more respect!
Hit me up when you are in Southern California?
Looks soooooooooo delicious. But you are out of focus 😊😊aren’t you supposed to wrap taco into the lettuce with herbs tho😊
Ohhhh lunch menu changed, never seen a few of those items
Oo really?? Was there anything in particular that you used to eat that you didn't see in the video?
Whooooooooooooaaaa delish!!!
Lol yes indeed!! I'm definitely going back for dinner when they start having fresh live crawfish!
We have a bunch of places here in Vegas.

I need to teach you how to eat Banh-Xeo - :) Wrap the veggies up in that thing- (: Like a burrito- LOL
Haha I see people eat that way, I've always ate it separately for some reason. Next time I make it, I'll try it your way!
Cool concept honestly, wish there was one in NC 😭 & dimsum is a pretty cool option to add
It's so cool, someone just commented and said it was the only Vietnamese buffet in America! I had no idea...makes it that much more special. And the dim sum...I didn't eat any of it but I love that they have that option too. I'll have to go back to try it next time!
@@HongtheFoodie no wonder bc I was googling if there were any in my area 😂😂 but! Yes can you make another video where you go again & eat dimsum and see if there are more diff foods the next time too?? Please & thank you 😍

Yeahh for sure! The price is unbeatable
WIsh there was this type of buffet in my area... none here in Pacific NW that I know of.
I keep hearing that from a lot of different people in different states. I hope you can come enjoy it here at Kim Son one day :)

did you get a fine for the unfinished foods?
Lmao! I lucked out because I finished everything 😂
is it worth paying about 40 dollars price , tax, tip) for dinner?
@@themantran Oh we definitely don't want to gag on the food lol 😆 The soups are one of the best things at Kim Son based on my two experiences there 👍
@@HongtheFoodie Yes, the soups are the best line there.
They're so greedy lol 😅
What is the name of the Parisian Bakery? So you walked in and then walked out? Lol I'll have to try it for sure :)
@@HongtheFoodie I bet if someone would open a soup buffet it would do well.
It's called Parisian Bakery. It's at Bellaire and Ranchester I think, in the mall of HoKaido and Welcome supermartket. It's like a 85C Bakery but with a French feel. I walked in with flip flops and looked but I did not feel right.
@@themantran That would be pretty cool, I would eat there for sure. Because another thing I don't like about Kim Son is that they have workers serving you, and they tend to give you a big portion even when you ask for a little bit lol
Ooh I'm sure you were fine with flip flops. Now if you walked into a wedding with flip flops.. I'd be like lmao 🤣🤣🤣 but it's just a bakery, how truly upscale can it be!!
👍

Better than an asian buffet in Wisconsin
This buffet is pretty massive. They have such a wide selection it's insane but amazing lol
I love your video so much, it make me hungry for vietnamese food. Thank you.
Looks more like a Chinese buffet😂
Elevators?
