Hi I'm Hong and I love food with a passion lol. I'm pretty much a glutton. I have asked for forgiveness from Jesus because at this point it's pretty much a sin. I can talk about food for hours and hours (and days lmao). Welcome to my channel. If you like food just as much as me, then rock on lol. I'm more than excited to share with y'all my food adventures here in the Houston area. Maybe other places in the future as well! So excited because I've always loved food, but never thought to document any of it! So come along with me 🤗

Hey Hong, You keep finding more places for me to try! I like old school hamburger stands. I will have to find a place for you to try also. Have you been to JLB Eatery? There is one located on Stella Link, but they are all over Houston. I have not been there, but I had tried the burger that my wife did not finished. They bake their own buns as well. It looks like it was previously a Pizza Hut restaurant. You can tell from the design of the building. I will let you know what I think of Champs Burger! Have a great weekend and keep those reviews coming.😀

@@ayoo.lsn. Hahah it is massive! Very good burger indeed
Everything looks good. Do you like Mustard in your burgers? Some people like Mustard, but I am not a fan of it. Do you like Corn or Flour tortilla? I don't like Corn tortilla.
I usually like mayonnaise and ketchup in my burger, but I decided to eat the burger with mayonnaise and mustard the first time just to try it since they asked if I wanted it, and to my surprise I actually enjoyed it with the mustard. It wasn't too overly concentrated with mustard flavor and it gave it a nice tang! I like both corn and flour tortillas depending on what I'm eating. So like for street tacos, I usually prefer corn and if I'm eating fajitas or something similar, I like flour. I don't think I have always liked corn tortilla either though, it was a process lol

Food looks delicious. Was the BBQ better than some of the other BBQ restaurants in Houston? I love Fried Chicken also. I usually eat Fried Chicken 5 to 6 days a week. I grew up eating Popeyes every week. I recently made a video eating Fried Chicken at "Barbecue Inn" and "Gatlin's Fins and Feathers". Both restaurants are located one block apart. You should go make a video there. Are you a big fan of Itachi Uchiha? Naruto was one of my favorite Anime growing up. Do you watch Anime?
@@HoustonEats Ahh well it wouldn't be a fair comparison because I didn't get a chance to try their pork or beef ribs, so it's just not a fair assessment you know (and of course this is just based solely on my taste buds) But I did like the chicken and the sausage. The brisket was just okay, a little too lean for me personally. I remember you telling me about Popeyes, l also grew up eating it haha, I love their chicken!! Oh thanks so much I'll check out your video Sang! Yess I watch anime. Naruto is my all time favorite anime. I definitely admire Itachi, he was so noble and not to mention a freaking beast But Rock Lee is the inner me hahah 💪🏋️♀️
@@HongtheFoodie Why do you have a strong connection to Rock Lee? Naruto resonated with me the most, because I used to have aspirations of being a politician.
@@HoustonEats Rock Lee has the inner spirit of David Goggins or Mike Tyson. He's cut from the same cloth. Even though he couldn't do ninjutsu, it didn't stop him from training even harder in taijutsu. He has unlimited perseverance and tries his hardest regardless. He gives it his all. I have a sign in my house that says hard work beats talent. Even though I don't consider myself gifted or talented lol, I do consider myself to have the highest degree of work ethic and discipline, so that's why I resonate with Rock Lee! 🙂 Do you still have dreams of being a politician nowadays?
@@HongtheFoodie So what do you want to work hard for? What do you want to achieve? What are your goals? In 2017, my company was bought by a hedge fund, and everyone was laid off. It took me 8 months of applying to 800 jobs, before I finally found a new job. Ever since then, I lost interest in politics and got more interested in personal finance. One of the main reasons why I want to start my TH-cam channel is so that I can help people financially in the future. I want to work with thousands of people from around the Houston area to make Eating or Cooking videos. 1. I want to help young kids earn income from making TH-cam videos, so that they can invest into their Roth IRA account at a young age. If a kid invested $12,000 into his or her Roth IRA account, and never invest another penny for the rest of their lives, that $12,000 will grow to $1,000,000 by the time that the retire at age 65. I want to educate people about the Roth IRA, and help people earn money to invest into their Roth IRA. I want to help create as many Millionaires as possible in Houston or Texas. 2. I often see post in the "Nguoi Viet Houston" group from Nail Techs saying that their business is slow because of the bad economy. I hope one day, I can employ these Nail Techs to make Eating or Cooking videos when they are not busy at work, to earn extra income. I hope that one day, I can pay people $100 to $500 from making a 10 minute Eating video. 3. There are a lot of stay-at-home moms or single mothers that are struggling financially. I hope that one day, I can help these mothers earn extra income by making Eating or Cooking videos for my TH-cam channel. 4. There are a lot of people that work in the restaurant industry or nail or hair industry, and they do not have a retirement account. They do not have a 401k account through their employer or a Roth IRA account. When people retire and no longer work, I hope that one day, I can help them provide additional income by making Eating or Cooking videos for my TH-cam channel. 5. I traveled to Vietnam and Japan for the first time in my life at age 36. It was an amazing experience, and I wish I had traveled there earlier in my life. I hope that one day, I can pay for people to travel to Vietnam and Japan every single year, by having them make Eating or Vlogging videos while they are traveling in Vietnam or Japan. 6. I want to recruit more people to help me make Eating or Cooking videos for my channel, to help it grow faster. I hope one day I can make enough money from TH-cam to employ people and pay them for their time.

@@markg3977 Thanks Mark, I'll definitely have to go!
The food looks delicious. I love how they have the machine to help you order your food. I feel like a burden when I try to order food from the chef and we have language barrier. I just want to add that the food in Japan is really cheap right now due to their bad economy and the exchange rate. In the past, $1 USD would equal $1 JPN YEN ($100 YEN). But now, $1 USD equals around $1.50 JPN YEN ($150 YEN). So we are basically getting a 50% discount off of everything that we buy in Japan. If your Sushi cost a total of $50 USD now, it would have cost $100 USD in the past, when the Japanese economy was better.
@@HoustonEats I love ordering on the iPad too :) Ooh I think I meant to mention this in one of my videos but I forgot, but yesss, the yen is down right now compared to the US dollar so that was actually one of the reasons why we decided to go when we did!!! The sushi is already way cheaper in Japan than the US, but because of the current economy situation, it's even CHEAPER and wayyyy better, not even a comparison to the quality here in the US. Were you able to make a reservation in English or did you just walk in? In April we had to get our Japanese cousin to make a reservation.
@@secondamazonprime-kv5xo We went to this buffet another time before coming back to the states and the second time around we grilled the crabs. The king crab was inconsistent that day but some pieces were actually SOO good and yesss, definitely brings out the sweetness when grilled. I had more wagyu the 2nd time also. Too good!!! We made our reservations using a website called Tabelog. They have an English version so it was super convenient to make the reservations without any issues. And yesss this buffet really is epic 🤤, they need to stop playing games and have a location in Houston already lol
crab, of any kind, are my most favorite food ever!! I love how you got a quiet private place to video. often, when i do buffet videos, so many people are in the shot.
@@gailsfoodandstuff Crab is my favorite seafood, I love the texture of the meat and the meat is just so delicious. My favorite out of all the crabs I've tried would have to be dungeness crab 🦀🤤. Ooh all the booths at the buffet were so high that everyone got their privacy, it was great. If you love crab, oh you will love this buffet. I can't even believe the quality of this buffet, it was out of this world. The experience was just surreal. And I will most definitely have to check out your videos! Thank you for stopping by
@@HongtheFoodie yes, dungies are also amazing and time to time they are on sale for as little as about 7 bucks a pound, here in norther va (usa)
@@gailsfoodandstuff Oh $7 is good, here in the south I think I've seen them for $7 once. They usually range from maybe $9-$14 a lb typically. Gosh now I want some lol 😅
Hello Hong, I am so happy that you were able to post a video. What a spread for a buffet. I have not seen anything like that. I think it is time for me to take a road trip to Japan! You are probably going wild as a foodie for all the places to go to. Do you have a bucket list of places to try before you leave? You can always save it for your next trip! Have a great time and look forward to your next food adventure.🍽🥂
@@williamyee2294 It was amazing!! We came back to eat again before coming back to Houston. Oh I was going so wild lmao, the food is at the highest level. The chefs in Japan take their work very seriously and are so dedicated to what they do and it really shows in the quality of the food there. We made a list of places but didn't end up going to all of them, but there's good food everywhere that it's not even a problem!! It just means we'll have to go back again next year 🤤. I'm already looking forward to it lol. You should definitely go to Japan one day, it needs to be on everyone's bucket list!
