Don't go to a buffet to eat Crawfish. There are so many good Viet-Cajun Crawfish restaurants available. Let's go eat Viet-Cajun Crawfish together one day. 😁
I get desperate when I'm craving crawfish lol (which is everyday of my life HAHA) so I resort to a buffet because I can't justify paying these crawfish prices right now. They have gone up drastically from around $7.99 to like $13.99 on average, that's almost double the price *faints* lol. There are a lot of good Viet-Cajun crawfish joints but I'll have to wait until the prices go down (if that ever happens though lol). We also just make crawfish at home because it is a lot cheaper, still perfecting the garlic butter sauce but it's still pretty good. Maybe I need to open up my own crawfish restaurant haha. We're already going to the same places around the same time...Kim Son, Crown Seafood, Blood Bros. I am sure we will run into each other one day! lol

Hey Hong! You killed the Feast Buffet! You know that I would not make it past the dim sum area if I was there. I would load up like you have for crawfish. I don't see how you can put away the food and maintain your figure. I would gain 10 lbs every time I go to a buffet! Be patient and crawfish prices will come down. I like crawfish, but I don't crave it. I rather have shrimp since it is more filling. Keep up the great work of your videos!😀

Ooh I have been meaning to try Umi Sushi & Seafood. Someone else mentioned it to me when they first opened but I have been waiting for the crazy lines to go down. Definitely want to check it out in the near future! Thank you!!
@lifewithhong6275 because crawfish comes from fresh water instead of sea or ocean water, it has a better taste than an expensive lobster 🦞 . Another thing, it's so dam hard to get a full stomach on crawfish even at an all you can eat buffet. Thanks for sharing your crawfish adventure.
@@ChrisChris-yr2mq Ooh yes, that makes sense. No wonder crawfish is so good! HAHA you would have to eat at least like 20 plates. How many lbs of crawfish can you eat? For me if it's fresh, live, cooked at home I could eat probably like 5-8 lbs in one sitting depending on the size. I love it
I've watched most of your videos and you've eaten at most of the places I've eaten and enjoyed (props to Kim Son [because of you I actually went back to try it after more than a decade], Sushi Masa, and Tokyo Japan). I wanted to go to Umi but because of your vid on it I'm now second guessing lol. I'd be interested in seeing what are your takes on these other places. Here's a few more recommendations by order of which I think you'd like (or maybe work your way up? hahaha): Taizzi Sushi: Very nice sushi place at Katy (main branch). If you go there on the weekend it'd be the owner himself that's making the sushi. I recommend the sashimi (you can specify the thickness of the slices) and their grilled collar. The rolls are made to order and if you do intend to order one, make sure to bring a few friends since the order is PER ROLL, not per piece. The rolls are really good but it fills you up fast, so go with the sashimi and other entrees first. Handam: Korean bbq buffet at Bellaire. Enough said. Gyu-Kaku: Japanese yakiniku buffet. A bit pricey, but the meat selection is very good. I recommend trying their most basic tier (they have 3 I believe) so you get a feel for the quality of the meat. Sushi-Haya: Along 249... very decent sushi place. It's one of the places I go to if I wanted an affordable sushi AYCE (that's not E-Star). K-Pot: Good selection (slight step down from Shabu Zone in terms of the actual hotpot, but you get a good selection of korean bbq that you could possibly add to the hotpot or fry). It gets very busy during the weekends and dinner time. You could always go on a weekday lunch, and avail of their dinner menu already if you want to avoid the crowds. They have minced shrimp that they serve in ceramic spoons that got super well with the hotpot. Hibachi: Wide variety of food. Typical Chinese buffet, but I really like their steamed selection with the pork spareribs, chicken feet, and siu-mai. Hibachi's pretty okay as well. Sushi is very meh. Taste Of Asia Mega Buffet: 249 Tomball. Not gonna lie, their overall aesthetic needs work, but it's my go-to typical affordable Chinese buffet along the area since the food it's super salty / greasy. Food was cooked just right compared to my numerous times at E-Star (btw, the quality of the food at E-Star can vary from branch to branch). ------------------- Honorable mention: Dimassi: It's a Mediterranean buffet and I think it'd be a nice change of pace. Go there during the weekends and get their lamb shank (limit of 1 per customer). Fall. Off. The. Bone. Baklava and creamy baklava are good deserts as well.
Omgosh this made me so happy lol. Thank you so much for all the recommendations and the details for each place! I'm going to add these places to my list of places to go! Did you go back to Kim Son for lunch or dinner? Maybe it was an off day at Umi or the items I got, I may one day go back but for lunch, because $40 is too much for dinner especially for the quality, I think I'm scarred from my experience also. I can justify paying $25 but nothing more. I feel you can get the same quality at any other Chinese buffet but for way cheaper. But I mean at the same time we all also have different taste buds too, but anyway if you do decide to give it a shot, let me know how it was that day! Thanks again for telling me about all these AYCE restaurants!!! I've only been to Hibachi before but I don't think I've had their dim sum, so can't wait to try these items and the other places!
@@HongtheFoodie: Kim Son, I went during weekend dinner. It was PACKED and loud (like a school cafeteria hahaha) but the food was good. Grilled oysters were a highlight. I usually visit the area to actually go to Golden Dim Sum (but I think Crown looks better so I might give that a try based on your vid)... and then go to Linda's Tropical Fruits. --DURIAN SHAKE!-- Hahahaha. Umi.... again, I think I'll pass. Lobster was the only thing that piqued my interest (pass on the milk tea, since I'd much rather go to The Bunny or The Alley) but even other reviews said it was on the tough side (I kinda miss it when Tokyo Japan had a special 1 lobster per person back when they reopened after the Pandemic). But yeah, DEFINITELY go to Taizzi. You can look up their menu online and see for yourself just how many rolls they can make (but initially go for the medium-to-thick slice sashimi since we're Asian and we know we want that bang for out buck haha). I wish you a happy and fulfilling food journey ahead and hope to see more content from your channel. :)
Kim Son is always packed, it could be snowing outside with a hurricane, tornado, and blizzard warning and people still be in line over there lmao. I never been for weekend dinner so I haven't had a chance to try the grilled oysters. I've only been for lunch and then dinner on Friday for their AYCE crawfish. Ooh you should try Crown Seafood, I am addicted to that place now lol. I'm always looking for a dessert/fruit place so I'll have to stop at Linda's Tropical Fruits! I miss the Tokyo Buffet that was off of Westheimer and the Beltway, they had AYCE dungeness crab. You know which buffet I'm talking about right? lol, it was such a good deal!! They even had 1 lobster per person I think for $5 dollars more, or something like that I can't remember. I looked up Taizzi on Yelp and it looks semi familiar so I am wondering if I've been there before, if I have it's been so long I don't remember either, so will need to go there for a refresher for sure. And lol yes we need to get our money's worth hahah. And thank you so much! It's been fun, I'm excited to continue sharing my food journey with y'all!!
If only those crawfish were lobster! 😂 This assortment of dishes is unrealistic unless it's an extremely busy area! Now I'm wondering if it caters to all the people living on welfare and all they need is to qualify for the Hot meal benefit to access this Buffet. 😮
I feel like it's in a pretty busy location. It's off a busy highway and that road is always popping with cars and people everywhere. It's probably the biggest buffet with a such a wide selection that I have been to in Houston so maybe they knew that would attract a lot of people, and it really does. That's probably how they're able to have so many dishes because they have so many customers lol (and maybe not everyone eats until they're about to pop...I wonder what it's like to have self control lmao). Oh and that was only their lunch selection. Imagine their dinner menu!
@@HongtheFoodie That's so true when you word it like that since it's not pricey like some of the other buffets, customers don't feel the need to make it worth their money and will frequently visit at the price of $13! I was dumbfounded because it didn't look busy enough to dish out so much variety!!! lols 😆
@@ZhiQunYz Ooh good point on how you worded it too just now! Like how they don't feel the need to make it worth their $$ since it's $13 vs $30 otherwise they may be like, "Okay I need to eat strategically lol. We going straight to the seafood" Oooh it was so busy there. I actually made the mistake of going right at prime time (12 pm lol) so I ate first and then I went back to the buffet line to take videos because it was so crowded and I didn't want to be that annoying person with the camera while people tryna get food haha. I try to do this when I go to any restaurant, so even in my other videos the place may look empty but I wait until most people leave (at least I try) because also I understand some people may not feel comfortable when they see a camera pointed at them
@@HongtheFoodie Good to hear it's doing well as this is one of the best methods to introduce everyone else to many Asian delicacies without any restraints! 😂👍
I usually do but right now the prices are on average $13.99/lb, they usually are from $7.99-9.99 per lb but this year the prices have skyrocketed so I'm waiting for them to go back down lol
I went on labor day and I thought it was awful. I made 3 plates of food at once and every. Single. Item tasted awful. From every section. Either old, cold, cooked in old grease, no flavor on seafood, severely overcooked shrimp that were nearly paste. I left there and went to eat AYCE hot pot instead.
@brodennewman4550 I don't "trip" about crappy food. 15 years as a private chef thats travelled the world....food is my life. My taste buds are just fully alive and I can taste low quality and lack of cooking skills.

@@HongtheFoodie No problem Hong. I don't remember exactly what I said about the sushi at Kim Son. You know that I was there for the dim sum, especially at Hibati Grill. In this short time, I have gotten to know you and your favorite places. I have happy that I started to learn more about you and some of your personality. It has been fun and I hope we can continue to learn from each other. I have a "Hoisan Chinese" background mixed with Texan food found in Houston, but could learn more about other foods in the Asian area Since you came to US as a baby, you have lived here in the US to be more like a native! Waiting for your next review!😋
@@williamyee2294 Yes haha you go where the dim sum is lol! Speaking of dim sum, you got me hooked on Crown Seafood. I may or may not have gone there yesterday 🤐 Yesss I've been having a lot of fun also making these videos and chit chatting with y'all, this is just the start!! What is a Hoisin Chinese background William? I even googled it lmao, only hoisin sauce popped up HAHA
I would love to know where this buffet is in Houston just in case I visit there... For the price, that's a good deal for the amount of good food you experienced❤😎
The variety is insanely.. awesome for the price point. Oh you should definitely come visit Houston. That'll be very exciting with so many good eats everywhere in the city!! Here is the address: 1707 Fry Rd, Katy, TX 77449. I'm ready to go back there or to another buffet with crawfish lol
@@HongtheFoodie Awesome 👌... Thanks for the address... I'll check it out sometime and maybe check out others as you said❤😎
I rather eat at Umi Sushi & Seafood. Their Crawfish and shrimp are so much bigger
Ooh I have been meaning to try Umi Sushi & Seafood. Someone else mentioned it to me when they first opened but I have been waiting for the crazy lines to go down. Definitely want to check it out in the near future! Thank you!!
Thanks !
You're welcome!!
❤️
Nice! Haven't had crayfish in awhile
I haven't had it in a week, and I'm feening for it. It's been a week too long lol
Crayfish goes well with Laos papaya salad lol
@@dannysouriyahkam6336 Lol really??! Hm maybe everything goes well with it 😅
Fried corn for the wiiiin. 👌
That is very rare to find a cheap buffet with so much variety. Not sure how much longer they can stay in business lol...
If so, I need to be going there everyday just in case hahah
OMG... woman.. your killing me!!! A small woman eating so MUCH!!!
Yeah... I'd be napping in my car!
GOOD deal indeed for $13!
peace
Hahaha! Yep unbeatable deal
Crawfish looks good🦞🦀🍗🍛🥦
@@princesskay3265 It wasn't bad for a buffet, it satisfied my crawfish cravings lol 🤗
Enjoy
Thanks!
You need the original crawfish from New Orleans. You would immediately noticed the difference in taste, especially if they cook it live.
Oh for sure, it is like day and night. I just got desperate for some crawfish and I can't justify paying $13.99+ per pound right now for live crawfish
I love it
Try the new buffet called texas buffet at 529
@@MoneyMayweather-kh8kz Ah thanks!
Here's a few more recommendations by order of which I think you'd like (or maybe work your way up? hahaha):
Taizzi Sushi: Very nice sushi place at Katy (main branch).
-------------------
Honorable mention:
Dimassi: It's a Mediterranean buffet and I think it'd be a nice change of pace.
Feast is the largest buffet in Texas...
Oh really?? Thanks, I didn't know that!
You can eat.
Haha thanks! I have actually slowed down a lot, but I can still put it down lmao
Good video besides music off on off on off on it’s annoying great price for all that 12:51
Ooh thanks for the feedback!
If only those crawfish were lobster! 😂
This assortment of dishes is unrealistic unless it's an extremely busy area! Now I'm wondering if it caters to all the people living on welfare and all they need is to qualify for the Hot meal benefit to access this Buffet. 😮
HAHAH, if those crawfish were lobster...the manager will probably end up escorting me out because I will rob them of all their lobsters lol!
We going straight to the seafood"
Oooh it was so busy there.
House is gonna loose on this woman.. no salad for her
I never go to a buffet to eat salad 🥗 lol!
why dont you go to an actual crawfish shop. tastes much better than buffet ones.
I usually do but right now the prices are on average $13.99/lb, they usually are from $7.99-9.99 per lb but this year the prices have skyrocketed so I'm waiting for them to go back down lol
I went there 2 weeks ago and a huge disappointment
U are a goof!
I am LOL
I went on labor day and I thought it was awful. I made 3 plates of food at once and every. Single. Item tasted awful. From every section. Either old, cold, cooked in old grease, no flavor on seafood, severely overcooked shrimp that were nearly paste. I left there and went to eat AYCE hot pot instead.
Trippin
@brodennewman4550 I don't "trip" about crappy food. 15 years as a private chef thats travelled the world....food is my life. My taste buds are just fully alive and I can taste low quality and lack of cooking skills.
That’s cheap
It really is
