I agree with your criticisms. I also think the 3D models of the cars could look better. Something about the cars looks low-res compared to the high-res scenery. I also think adding rollerblades, skateboards, and bicycles around town is a necessity. I see a lot of grindable rails in this game. Even Kingdom Hearts 2 had skateboards in every area that you could just pick up and use. I also think using rollerblades for a jet set radio type of gameplay around the city would elevate this game. I also think they should import character customization from tof. The MC is just far too plain. Let us change her outfit and color palette. Combat animations can remain unchanged, but her outfit, skin color, & hair should be customizable imo. I also think if they add rollerblades, bicycles, skateboards, etc. it's perfectly okay to auto-switch the current character to the MC. That way they don't have to make unique animations for all the new characters. But in that case, they really need to let us customize her appearance. She's just far too bland. It's to the point that it's jarring and immersion-breaking to look at her. Let us have some freedom with how the MC looks.
thank you for having the courage to express your opinion about the cons of the games. we dont need more people to keep praising how beautiful the game is. we need more people giving constructive feedback because we want this game to succeed. without meaningful combat, this game will be dead in less than a year.
Skateboards, Rollerblades, A Segway, A bicycle for getting around and being able to do tricks would be pretty sweet. I hope they take all the good CBT feedback and improve this game even further beyond!!
We're especially looking forward to Project Mugen, which has resurfaced and revolutionised open-world gachas in its 2022 trailer! It's got more quality and it's superb compared to NTE. Even if NTE makes me want to play it too! All it did was draw inspiration from Project Mugen.
They will have vehicles and housing with multiplayer modes, and User Generated Content (UGC) in *future* version as they explicitly stated on their QnA post months ago. I am grateful for your comment and appreciate it.
Well the good thing is that this is their first ever beta and only in CN. They still do have the time to improve, polish and fix things and that's what I'll expect them to do. A part of this expectation is maybe just because Kuro has spoiled me at least with alot of things in WuWa, I saw their CBT's and when comparing those CBT's to their launch and specially now? I believe that if a developer really cares and wants their players to have the best experience they'll listen and take action, and if they promise they should deliver
I really don’t mind if the combat is simple, some people do and that's fair. But that point is subjective, although I agree that it needs more polishing in the animations or maybe a mechanic that it's unique to them. What I would like though is having more enemies, it kinda felt like there wasn’t enough in the open world making it feel empty even though there is a ton of NPCs walking around to kinda hide it a bit, maybe introduce more invasions or enemies attacking the populace more regularly (enemies than can hunt you down while driving could be fun too). Also, just a suggestion, but we should get at least bikes or skates in small streets as an option.
The camera during the in game cutscenes felt so bad to me, it move just for the sake of moving, people complain that a lot of 3d story heavy gacha games don't move the camera, this game does it too much, and you can tell that it's for no reason because I noticed from the first in game cutscene, that the camera pans to a direction, then returns to its previous position, it's so weird
I don't really capture any wow factor that could makes me want to play this game, except being a normal open world like other competitors. Since it has urban aesthetic, they should make it more interactive and engaging instead of only move quicker with car.
This video is great. I agree with your criticisms and hope developers see this video. It was very well put together. I hope they capitalize on their opportunity and make this game amazing cuz I’m so hyped for it.
If the story really is good, then the devs already listened since ToF story was so bad people thought Hotta was simply unable to write a good story. They changed a lot and i believe theyll fix most if not all issues till launch. Only thing im not sure about is the optimization cuz even on high end PCs ToF just runs like ass. The story in that game somehow improved more than its optimization but we'll see
I agree with your criticisms. And criticism should not be confused with demotivating offensive. This is CBT, a testing phase where games needs to be tested for any problems , glitches, issuesm and other needed improvements before release as its costly to fix when the game is out MC looks okayish, but it her looks can be improved. male MC is said in development. Good points. Pointing out the good and the bad, and where they could improve things is called constructive criticism, not doomposting like saying "oh this is trash, not worth your time". They need to add more things to do in open world so we're not just running on foot and driving. the car physics looks very basic in implementation and the selection on car customization are very few, not much to choose from. if there's anything you can trust hotta studios to do, it's adding a lot of mechanics/activities that no one asked for but still fun, and then other games copy them a while later. they did very well on making ToF into a sort of virtual theme park which separates it from other gacha games to be in a genre of it's own. Although they have a tendency to make the events really tedious, like event currency-gated in-game shop, etc. and there's a chance that they will also do it here.
The gliding here, which is like in Nier and Wuwa really ticks me off. Using only one hand to grab on, don't they feel awkward grabbing it with only one hand? It's hard enough to grab with two hands and maintain your grip.
They are super powerful characters that fight with all kind of tough bosses and shit, do you really think its that hard to glide single handed? Like even in real life pro climbers could do that easily xd
I want them to add more cars, premium cars, make other types vehicles playable maybe ? The cars that you can drive look like they are from the 90s and dont fit the theme of the city, want premium sports cars, cedans, moretypes of suvs etc.
Yea i agree with your points to make the game better but tbh even rn aside from all the bugs which were to be expected i think the game is already exceeding my fairly high expectations
we don't need tanky punching bags. We need the overworld enemies to attack us with strong one/two shot attacks and have weak points which our characters can exploit to leave openings for attack. stop this dancing tanky punching bag BS. so sick of that.
From what can be seen about the driving it doesn't look fun, they could make the cars extremely grippy (like Grip cars in Ridge Racer Type 4) or very arcadey drifty (like Out Run or Ridge Racer 7) as they are simple and easy to pickup handling models.
I'm confused. In another video from a CBT tester, he explained the elemental reactions (I think there are 8). Maybe this is unlocked later on? Hotta added bicycle, jet board and Spiderman gadget to ToF so it's possible that they will add it here too. About the racing, no need to worry as Hotta is obsessed with racing. ToF has too many racing events lol
Yeah! Considering the driving cars is one of big aspect for this game, there's no way they won't include PVP racing cars Once again Hotta loves racing gameplay
There is an elemental system and it plays into the ability to do swap abilities. This system is good as an idea but playing it just didn't do it for me. However, as I mentioned in the video, my opinion can change once I receive a well translated version of the game. We will just have to see.
This was a good review! I do agree with you in the combat department that they can do way better, I feel like if you're going to release a combat heavy game with story you want players to feel the impact of their attacks early on to hook the players in. I think that is very important and that alone could make it or break it for a lot of people. Another nitpick of mine is that the MC looks too basic as much as that doesn't really effect the overall story and game I feel like they could've made her just a bit more better looking but that's just me.
I hope they voice act the walking by npc just so the game feels more immersive. I've recently olayed ghostwire and I feel like they could use some gimmicks from the game to make NTE less repetitive like every open world gachas. Give us an fps pov option when fighting/exploring. Also make characters fastet/flowier. Just make a gacha with an xbox gaming experience. The colours are amazing tho
Glad a video like this was made, mostly on the combat part. This is the studio that made ToF which had tons of cancels, synergies, and ways to traverse the map with the gadgets (My favorite being the gun you could shoot at the ground to make a pipe). This game in comparison is a massive step down and feels like a shameless attempt to cash in on Genshin success which a lot of Chinese games seem to be doing to no avail. Like you said in order for this to succeed this game NEEDS to be more ambitious in what it sets out to create instead of being the bare minimum of an open world game otherwise it will be another flop. People right now are being too lenient on this game
Battle/Gameplay wise I dont see anything unique, you got the point there! Wutherings right now I think has the best gameplay of any action gatcha game so far
The product is good to me. The combat is fine, but not the end, all be all. All they need is polish, which they'll do and basically implement everything gta online does.
The quality inconsistencies with the character to environment is definitely pulling me off, the characters are like stickers in a high def background. It feels odd.
100% agree with you're takes, the story telling is way better than the competitors so far but the combat is yikes, Sure story is cool and all but its a one and done you're gonna spend the rest of the patch doing combat farming your daily/weekly grinds till the next big patch so its equally important. and add a male mc not everyone is a waifu only person.
It makes me so sad to see how much smoother this game looks compared to tower of fantasy, oh well I guess that game walked so this game could run….or whatever tf the saying is😭
... I'm still more excited about Project Mugen than I am for NTE and we don't even know if that game is still on track to release. Too much TOF PSD lol. Only time will tell if they can pull this together. Keeping my expectations low. 😅
@@Sinjade I still log in to maintain account, still sh*T... my experience. Can't find motivation to play considering the terribly repetitive world exploration, poorly balanced mmo events and predatory monetization. I log in for waifu collection but also feels pointless. Given my TOF experience, NTE expectations are very low but curious.
Does everything need a high quality complex battle system? And theres only so much you can do with a battle system you make it sound like theres a lot but there really isn't much to do that has been done. If you looked into developing a game.
No, that's why we have ZZZ and other simple games. Saying "There's only so much you can do" is just an excuse to do less or do what others have already done and if everyone had that mindset in game development, all action games would be the same. There wouldn't be anything unique between gaming, and we'd be playing the same game all of our lives... Till someone came and did something different.
Honestly, since it's reveal and even after seeing this gameplay/hearing your thoughts, the only thing that appeals to me about this is the city itself. Combat looks whatever and I don't think I like the expressions in those cutscenes either lol they looked off somehow, and way too exaggerated. Characters don't appeal to me either, idk.
The story and cutscene presentation is really good, but I'm just not feeling the art direction, theme & tone. It's nice but not quite my style. Also the combat looks pretty standard, it's missing some unique flair compared to it's competitors.
There someting I would like to say: The combat locations are lock in a RPG style (Stage). And the worst for me,the mobs and bosses are way too passive.
If i had my good old psp console and i saw this game was available on psp i would have definitely play this game but for me i would skip this game as I’m not interested in any open world gacha game except for azur promilia
WUWA has made other games like it completely unplayable for me. The fast pace action with great combat feedback and not to mention the continuous quality of life updates the game keeps receiving just makes it a really good game in its segment. From what I saw from the NTE closed beta and the combat feeling is same as tower it seems. The sound effects felt cheap and weapon feedback felt lackluster from what others have said as well after playing tof. Hopefully they iron this out properly otherwise I see this game drowning in the same fate as tower
As of now This game have more FATAL flaws than strengths. If NTE final version is still like this, only those loud NTE glazers will play and I dunno if this game gonna make it to the middle rank of Gacha Report.

we don't need tanky punching bags.
Yeah! Considering the driving cars is one of big aspect for this game, there's no way they won't include PVP racing cars
Once again Hotta loves racing gameplay
Hotta already added auto exploration and quick battle to ToF so it's less repetitive. Hope they add it here too
What is the size of the game and what are the requirements
This is only a beta currently and sign ups are closed, so you can't get in. Size doesn't matter right now. Wait until full release
Boss fights are still better on pgr imo
Another Wuwa glazer lol.. wuthering combat is repetitive and gets sweaty
@@user-rizelthebaka every gacha games combat is repetitive wdym at least wuwa isnt as repetitive bc of the dodges
@@user-rizelthebaka nah
i will wait ananta first and then decide which one more worth to play
The product is good to me. The combat is fine, but not the end, all be all. All they need is polish, which they'll do and basically implement everything gta online does.
The quality inconsistencies with the character to environment is definitely pulling me off, the characters are like stickers in a high def background. It feels odd.
Rework MC's hairstyle, especially the looks from behind
Characters designs remind me of indie vtubers and I don't know how to feel about that
100% agree with you're takes, the story telling is way better than the competitors so far but the combat is yikes, Sure story is cool and all but its a one and done you're gonna spend the rest of the patch doing combat farming your daily/weekly grinds till the next big patch so its equally important. and add a male mc not everyone is a waifu only person.
this use ue5??? damn endfield really missing out if they keep using unity
With project mugen out of the ring, I thought this one could works well but now.. we will see december 4th
I think they will be pretty different just with a similar concept
We will actually get some info for Project Mugen on the 5th of December. But they have renamed it to Ananta if I am spelling that right.
It makes me so sad to see how much smoother this game looks compared to tower of fantasy, oh well I guess that game walked so this game could run….or whatever tf the saying is😭
blade blade blade all i see is Blade all I care about is Blade all I need is Blade :D So please rerun blade hoyo :C
... I'm still more excited about Project Mugen than I am for NTE and we don't even know if that game is still on track to release. Too much TOF PSD lol. Only time will tell if they can pull this together. Keeping my expectations low. 😅
Project Mugen has a new name now. It's called Ananta now.
Till someone came and did something different.
the vibes of this game is great, but they do need to improve moviment and combat
Agreed! 💯
It's an early version so all we can do is hope improvements are made.
where do i download it
You can't. It's a CN CBT and sign ups are closed.
The story and cutscene presentation is really good, but I'm just not feeling the art direction, theme & tone. It's nice but not quite my style. Also the combat looks pretty standard, it's missing some unique flair compared to it's competitors.
@@Sinjade Did someone piss in your cereal this morning?
Got rid of him Nobody cares. We are here to enjoy games. He can cry about the success rate elsewhere because we don't care.
Hello sir Chaotic, the game is amazing but can we lower the brightness in the setting? The colors are too VIVID.
Nice game gameplay
There someting I would like to say: The combat locations are lock in a RPG style (Stage). And the worst for me,the mobs and bosses are way too passive.
If i had my good old psp console and i saw this game was available on psp i would have definitely play this game but for me i would skip this game as I’m not interested in any open world gacha game except for azur promilia
play AP cuz it's OnlyWaifus like AL to G( . )( . )N 24/7 :3
Dislike the too anime facial structure and appearance lack diversity, I mean anime style without taking it too much aka lack balance
As of now This game have more FATAL flaws than strengths. If NTE final version is still like this, only those loud NTE glazers will play and I dunno if this game gonna make it to the middle rank of Gacha Report.
