Reminds me of my beautiful Mother singing this while she was working in the fields, drawing water from a well, cooking for 7 people on a wood burning stove and a whole menu of other "duties" she struggled to accomplish
Beautiful! I have enjoyed this song since a child and prayerfully it is enjoyed moreso in our Lord's ears. Blessed to share hearing teens singing it on a vacation our family had. I knew their mom must have taught them the song...since she and I were in Sunday School together. I said..you kids know that song? I said great...what are your plans tgis morning? They pointed to the handwritten note from their mom that was taped to the door of their vacation rental...it said..Each Day I'll do...a Golden Deed. Love Mom. I looked at them...and they nodded...and pointed to the elderly woman's house nearby...and started singing the song with smiles...like it wouldn't take me long to get my answer. They were going to go offer to give her a hand for awhile that morning. I could tell it was a normal expectation. Even on vacation.
I love this song alot the first time I heard this song. was on a Amish CD that I bought at a Yard Sale. I thought it would such a cute song to do in Chruch. SO now our Church youth group is singing it now and everyone loves it. You guys have such great Voice's and sounds so great. I love being a Christain and love going to Church and singing for the Lord. God Bless Everyone!!!
Brings tears to my eyes; not just the music, but seeing those ladies with Coverings reminds me of the beautiful ladies who were my Sunday School and Bible School Teachers back in the early 40's through early 50's...... no, not being Theological here, but it is/was a beautiful symbol in my life.
I remember my Dad would sing this song too me when I was little and prayer Bell of heaven do y'all sing that song too plz thank you PLZ pray for me God bless 🙏😇🙏😇 uall
@gaylahibner That is the wonderful thing about Mennonite culture. Everyone just grows up knowing their part. The song "A Beautiful Life" is very appropriate.
@HappyHallelujah08 A lot of the hymns in the Mennonite hymnal (disclaimer: I'm only familiar with the blue one) are re-named by the first line that is sung. It's somewhat disconcerting until you're used to it.
"The only life that will endure, is one that's kind and good and pure." Well that leaves everyone out. None of us are good and pure. All these good works in this song are true good works, but doing them won't get you anywhere. Christ is the only One who is good, kind, and pure. If you are not trusting in Him and His perfect righteousness alone to save you, then you are not His child. This song does not make me think that these people are trusting Christ as their Saviour.
The woman in front... third from left..in white sweater... has the most beautiful, glowing smile in every one of these videos
I remember singing this with all of my family when I was very young at my Grossdaudy and Grossmammy's house. Oh it brings back so many fond memories.

Some listeners may know this song under a different name, "A Beautiful Life".
No setting sun
Can you give an example which creed & bi-laws they have that add to or differs from Bible?
