The quality of the actual video is much better. During one of the audio commentary easter eggs hidden on the DVD menu, Herzog points out that you can also see the wake of the boat that was pulling the Nessie prop through the water.

I used to think there was no Nessie’s, being brought and living around big bodies of water. About 1990, 4 of us rented a houseboat down in Cumberland lake. When setting out from pier, I was thinking how weird no other boats out. Just as hitting the big water, seen something odd in front of us. Luckily had my camera at my feet. Quickly grabbed taking photo. I was speechless, trying to explain what I’d just seen. Looked back inside where the guys were steering. They also were speechless with mouths on the floor. They’d also seen it. It swam like a snake yet making a good size wake. Sure would love to know if any locals there have heard of sightings. Of course everyone we asked about it while there. Said oh it’s a big sturgeon. No way would any of us say it’s a sturgeon.

We were camping at the loch back in 1992 . It was a cold dreary morning , the fog was starting to lift so I thought I'd do some fishing before my wife woke up . I headed down to the waters edge and set up my rod . As I sat there in the early morning I began to notice how quiet it was . There were no birds singing and even the sounds from the woods surrounding me seemed muted and muffled . I put it down to the receding fog but couldn't shake the eerie feeling I was being watched. Suddenly the water in front of me began to roll and boil and push up as if something huge was moving beneath it . I was so shocked I couldn't move . My mind was telling me to run , to get away from this unseen danger but I stood rooted to the spot in fear. Breaking the surface of the water the monsters head loomed over me and I could feel it's fetid breath on my face. I saw his huge mouth open in a snarl and I screamed " WHAT DO YOU WANT ?" ... "about 3.50" said the monster ......

the fact that every photo & video, ever taken, of loch & lake monsters is blurred, grainy, or shows just a silouete, with no clearly visible features of it's face or body , speaks volumes about the fact that these legedary creatures realy are purely legendary

0:26 I saw the movie " The Water Horse" and they had the same excact photo in the movie and they showed that two old people took the picture. So I'm not sure if that picture is real or not. Plus the sea creature has to be bigger than that. But who knows, also in the movie the legend says that there can be only one nessy then before the nessy dies it lays a egg So there could be one needy is one place, But everyone catches a video of it big and small in different places😕.
I'm pretty sure that picture was proven fake but there is backstory behind it, I can't remember exactly.
(The water horse used to be my favourite movie btw)

My theory on The Loch Ness so called monster is that it is the end of an old wooden boat that's broke from an old shipwreck. Every so many years there's an algae bloom that causes the front/back piece of the broken boat too bob to the surface.
most of these sightings are of the Greenland shark a very rare shark which has no top fin and had a slimy textured back like the one in these sightings and it can grow up to the same length as a great white the reason they are so rare is that they stay under the sea at about 2000 metres down but they sometimes come up to the surface and that is what i think these sighting could have been.
