    There have also been many sightings of a similar creature in Lake Champlain, in Vermont, known as Champ. Lake Champlain is a hundred and twenty miles long, and thirty miles wide, with mostly empty countryside and swamps along either side of it. It is also on the same latitude as loch Ness. One researcher, named Dennis Hall, thinks it could be what is known as a tanystropheus, which was an extremely long-necked, slender, and massive reptile that was known to live in the area up until the last ice age. There have also been several videos taken by Hall which are very difficult to explain away, and which certainly seem to show large, long-necked reptiles swimming in the lake, although the videos are not very well known. Considering that this creature was known to still exist just a few thousand years ago, and considering that it supposedly lives in the least densely populated state in the US, it seems that it is definitely a possibility that it does exist.. Also, it should be mentioned that there have been several recordings in the past decade of a creature echolocating in the lake, at a frequency that does not resemble any known creature. The only animals known to echolocate underwater are dolphins and whales, and neither of them could possible access the lake, since it is land-locked. It has been determined be several scientists that there is an unknown animal echolocating in the lake, and they have recorded it in several different locations..

      It couldn't be a reptile in an area that cold, they're cold blooded. Many dinosaurs were believed to be warm blooded. It'd have to be warm blooded or a fish... based on what we know today any way

      When I was born in 1986, we lived on the shore of the lake, on the NY side. Left when I was a baby, but I hope to get back there one day soon. The stories of Champ have always interested me as it's my birthplace.

    • @camgood2437

      m15granger: Jagosaurus' Workbench there are frogs and lizards in Vermont, and they hibernate during the winter, by slowing down their bodily processes and basically freezing solid until spring. It's been hypothesized that Champ does the same..

    #Tops5s Hey man. Been subscribed for a while, love your work. I have a question/request for you. Could you please, when making/showing measurements in your videos, include both the imperial and metric system? Because most of us that do NOT use imperial system have to google the measurements everytime you write or say the numbers. Makes it easier for a lot of your subs to understand your content without having to calculate whilst watching :) Keep up the good work.

    It feels like people who take photos of strange beings and monsters deliberately go out of their way to blur the shot, or have something to partially block the image so we can't see the whole creature. I know I'm probably wrong but seriously, that's the case almost *every time!*

    The only channel in this genre I subscribe to. Its the presentation and the voice as much as anything.
    I have an open mind but Nessy is in a 30,000 year old loch from the ice age. Mammoths, Sabre tooth Tigers and Neanderthals resided.
    Nessy stories are still exciting though, and you really feel the thing if you every go to Loch Ness for sure, so 'up yours' to the debunkers lol.

    In addition to Champ in Lake Champlain, there's also the Ogopogo from Kelowna BC. People say that it too is a pleasiasaur, and there's a native American legend that says you had to bring a chicken or some small sacrifice to throw off your canoe to the Ogopogo, so that you can have safe passage.
    Well when the white man came, he didn't respect the Ogopogo, and tried to cross without giving the lake Monster its tribute. So the Ogopogo flipped his canoe and dragged him to the bottom of the lake.
    Do a part two featuring monsters that are like Nessie perhaps??? But great video and I LOVE listening to your voice. Your accent is so calming!!

    When I was nine, my Aunt took me to Loch Ness. As a child I grew up on a lot of our myths in Scotland, and as you travel to Inverness and Loch Ness you can see the impact of the myth of Nessie. Teddy bears, plush items, pillows, scarves, blankets: Nessie is more of a marketing item for tourism, rather than a simple myth to most. I believe that Nessie could exist, in some form. But even if the myth was a fabrication, you can hardly deny how beautiful the Loch itself is.

    I'm a big fan of the channel, and I have one small request: feet, inches, stone... Can you please provide us measures in metric system? Ty!

      @Chris-ys5pv 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm American and I totally agree!! My fellow Americans will never convert as long people keep catering to the foolish "Standard" measurement system. Metric is soooooo much easier and far superior, and sorry everyone here we aren't special. The rest of the world minus Burma and Liberia use metric for a reason (even drug dealers use metric and everything manufactured uses it).

      Thwallace it will be when you put in a little time to learning it. Metric is intuitive and makes much more sense. There are 1000 meters in a kilometer, how many meters in 2.3 kilometers? Much easier that 5,280 ft in a mile, how many feet in 2.3 miles?

    I visited the area twice and it is a beautiful area, love the castle ruins and spent the night at a bed and breakfast by the locks at the end of the Loch.

    Here's what I think: if plesiosaurs and other prehistoric sea reptiles exist (which I think is quite possible), then they probably venture into the loch to feed or to mate or nest, but don't actually live there. The loch does have access to the North Sea, so that is possible, and there are a number of species that can survive in both saltwater and freshwater. I don't think a species of animal of that size could reside there alone, and the same goes for other lake monsters.

      GaelicCelt1990 plesiosaurs vertebrae locked in a way that made it impossible to arch there necks like swans like a lot of people say to have witnessed.

    • @GaelicCelt1990
      @GaelicCelt1990 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      True, but the same thing applies, an unknown sea creature of considerable size (if they actually exist) could move from a saltwater environment to a freshwater one in the same way as bull sharks, saltwater crocodiles and certain species of large fish can, plesiosaur or not. Also, it's possible that such an animal alive today could've evolved since prehistoric times to have a more flexible neck. Another interesting thing to consider is that people's memories can be somewhat unreliable, especially when they've witnessed something shocking or surprising, and some details could be missed or exaggerated. There are also liars and fakers.

    As the descriptions often depict it as having a long curved neck, that sort of eliminates the possibility of it being a plesiosaur because the neck of a plesiosaur could not bend , "Tall neural spines inhibited vertical (up and down) flexibility and large processes on the anterior and posterior surfaces of the vertebrae (prezygapophyses and postzygapophyses) inhibited horizontal (side to side) flexibility. The neck was therefore actually rather inflexible so plesiosaurs could also not adopt the often depicted swan-like pose (Storrs, 1993)."

    Because Loch Ness is so deep and so narrow there is not enough vegetation to support enough fish to feed any monsters.
    Scientist concluded there was only enough fish in all of Loch Ness to feed one 2 Tone monster, if one existed.
    Having been to Loch Ness I can testify that the only thing that lives there are ducks on the surface, a few fish, and the locals that live by the lake.
    There is nothing else that Loch Ness.

    I wanted to give a quick comment I know this may be far fetched, it depends on whether you believe animals have spirits or not, but what if the Loch Ness Monster is a ghost?

    • @summonwyvern
      @summonwyvern 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is an interesting theory, as it would explain sightings over a long period of time (unless there was an active breeding population), plus the limited food in the Loch that will likely not be sufficient enough for a large aquatic predator. Aside from religious beliefs, we know nothing about what happens after death. With that being said, who knows, really.
