    aluminium racquets are the best for doing the drill where you hit the fence.. aint doing that with a graphite/composite one.

    Hi ,
    My son is playing in under10 USTA . He has been using my old Dunlop classic. I need to upgrade his racket. I am looking for some good light weight graphite racket with spin and speed. Could you please suggest me.
    Thank you.

    My daughter is 9yo, 5ft and 82 pounds. She started this year with Tennis and his coach says she is good for her age she is strong and have good control. She has a dunlop 23 which obviously is small but was the option to give it a try to tennis first months. Now she is excited for trainings and learn more so she can participate in some kids tournaments in our town in Costa Rica.
    Coach recommended a Junior 26 racquet because it's a bit bigger but she is strong to handle it and it will work for some time. He suggested to go with a Graphite so it's a good investment.
    But I have a question Babolat Pure Drive Jr 26 or Babolat Pure Aero Jr 26 ? which model would you recommend for a beginner that is strong and measured and good skilled for his age and time in the sport
    I've watched a lot of videos and I see drive gives more power and aero well more aerodynamic and more effects

    • @filatofs
      @filatofs ปีที่แล้ว

      Pure Aero and Pure Drive are kind of identical in stifness and balance. My 8y son have both and can switch between them easily on training or tournament. Pure Aero definitely encourages to apply extra spin, just easier for the spin. Drive also good for spin but give more depth to his shots. So eventually he decided to use Drive mainly. It allows him to hit stronger balls, gives him power and depth. With Aero he has less confidence striking flats.

    Any advice about strings and tension for a strong junior? My son is 8 years old, he trains quite seriously (yellow ball) and goes to amateur competitions, coach advised him last year to change racquets from a 25 (he used a Head Gravity) to a 26, and he is using the Clash 26 now. The racquet came prestrung with some cheap nylon, and he wants to change it, what would you recommend? Previously coach strung his old racquet with a multifilament (I think it was Tecnifibre) 1.30 gauge at 35 pounds

    • @lsfire3489
      @lsfire3489 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try head velocity mlt for full multifilament or technifibre triax 1.28 for a hybrid feel my 8 year old loves triax at 24 kilos

    • @lilies9251
      @lilies9251 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! But isnt 24 kilos a bit extreme for a 8 year old? Even myself I don’t string that tight

    • @lsfire3489
      @lsfire3489 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lilies9251 no 24 kilo is the lowest recommended for the racquet. 24-26 kilos recommended for the head 26 inch racquet so it was strung higher probably from the factory. I just strung 24.5 by 25 5 for myself way too much trampoline for ultra cable hybrid with crosses of wilson nxt on my rf 97 autograph.

      @@lilies9251 When I was 8yrs old in 1980, we used full sized wooden or aluminium rackets since junior racquets were rare and considered a luxury. My parents weren’t about to buy me a new stick every 18mths or so! My friends and I all had mid-sized (85sq inch) aluminium racquets which were strung with synthetic gut at 55lbs/25kgs. That was regarded as the low tension for juniors and most adults strung at 65lbs/30kgs. What has happened over time is that poly strings have changed what we regard as typically used string tensions. Borg was the poster child for high tension gut strings (70lbs in a 65sq inch woodie).
      I don’t think 55lbs is especially high when it comes to non-poly strings. I still string at 65-68lbs these days when using full bed multi. However, too high a tension too early risks injury and may impair enjoyment of the game (reduces free power) in a junior learning the game. Perhaps 50lbs might be a reasonable starting point on a 26 racquet.

    • @lilies9251
      @lilies9251 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you guys. Coach strung his Gravity 25 at 35 pounds (multi), so I have to talk with him about the optimum tension for CLash 26.
      Jerome, I was using a wooden racquet at 8, but that's not the point. I personally stay at the 50/48 lbs range (poly though) with thin gauge (1.15, hyper-g), I don't want to destroy my arm, or my kids.

    • @filatofs
      @filatofs ปีที่แล้ว

      You can even play with 25 inch, I believe important part is racket weight and the level of opponents you play with. If opponent will be hitting back with 320 gram racket and yellow ball it will be just hard to return with 250gram racket. Also why would you sacrifice length if you can handle it easily with your height. If price is a problem you can go for used racket or non-pro rackets.
