I don't think they didn't write her well, on the contrary. Yes, she is not as good and holy as in every other show, but that's why it's realistic. She is a complex character here, not just an all good one as in The Tudors or any other drama. Here sometimes one feels hate for her, sometimes sympathy. To be honest irl she did horrible things after marrying Thomas. She was blinded by her love for him and that was the cause of it all. Her portrayal may not be 100% accurate all the time, but at least it is more accurate than in other dramas before this in which you saw a perfectly good woman you could never imagine as the participant in Elizabeth's abuse.
We may feel anger @ Parr yet she was a intelligent woman in a dangerous mans world trying to warn Elizabeth whom she admired > you must not just do anything u want u r a princess with a brother identical to your father who had semented full power a absolute monarchy
@@johndurrer7869 He wasn’t great of a king either and by your logic that wouldn’t make him a good father. Nevertheless, big difference in succeeding in profession and succeeding in familial duties.
Edward V as in Edward one of the Princes in the Tower? This here is Edward VI. If Edward V had survived if would have certainly changed the course of history.
They really should have picked someone younger to play Elizabeth. I mean I'm sure this actress is a lovely person, but she just looks too old for a 14 year old, and you can clearly see her forehead wrinkles in some shots.
My thoughts exactly. I have no idea why they cast this actress, they must have had a lot of good actresses to choose from. I am quite sure that a main role as Elizabeth I is a dream role for any young English actress. And yet they cast a not young enough German actress, who is not even a redhead. There are so many close-ups in this series that you clearly see that this woman already has many wrinkles, so she must be at least in her late twenties. It is veryimportant in the story of this series that Elizabeth is just a teenager, she behaves like a teenager, she is often naive and childish and ignorant in certain matters. She IS a teenager in every way. They even say in episode 3 "she is turning 15 now!" And all along she looks 25+. It just looks very weird. This miscasting especially stands out since the other roles in the series are so good castings.

Because Mary queen of Scot’s was involved in babington plot to have Elizabeth the 1 killed and put Mary queen of Scot’s as queen of England and obviously that did not happen and Elizabeth the 1 spy master caught and found the secret letters of Mary queen of Scots planning Elizabeth the 1 death not that I blame her being under house arrest for almost 19 years of your life and being dethroned in Scotland lost your kingdom your son will not help you no longer wearing French luxury clothing Elizabeth the 1 banning her and house arrest getting worse and worse each year
Also, that was way down the line. Elizabeth isn't even Queen yet here. That's her little brother edward in the room, and they're discussing their older sister Mary the first (bloody Mary).
She did all she could to not to have Mary killed and tolerated all factions that were fighting in her name (or other potential heirs) for years! Mary ruined everything by putting another obstacle in Elizabeth's way, by working with king Philip, to the point Elizabeth no longer found any excuses to make for her council (who were insisting on getting rid of Mary for two decades)
What a difficult situation for Elizabeth, caught between two sides and trying to do the best. Thanks for posting Lili!
Catherine is basically saying come & meet the wolves
Poor Elizabeth 🌹
I honestly hate Catherine in this show, Thomas was to blame not Elizabeth.
They didn’t write Catherine Parr very well at all in this show.
@@ShiningFriendship87 I agree.
Well at least they didn't make her an old woman. 🤷

What if Edward V had lived ?
Henry VII would have never become King of England and the Tudor dynasty would have never existed

He could have potentially have married Queen Mary Stuart
@@melissaclark1051 I believe there were talks of Edward V marrying Anne of Brittany.
There were still plenty of Plantagenets around, so wars would have been ongoing for the throne. Henry VII might still have been a player.

its.... because of the sex scenes....

Treason. She was guilty in the Babington Plot.
Because she was so desprate to get a crown she plotted for Elizabeth's
