    Hi Pastor Tanner I think I'm in agreement with you. The Insights tool is a great demonstrator of some of the power of Logos, but for those of us who use Passage Guide and who know what we like, it doesn't do an amazing amount. I think I prefer to have a larger window for a commentary open where I can see exactly what it has. It's not even showing all the sections of the commentary on a passage etc. Perhaps it would be better if the Insights SIMPLY showed Study Bibles - or you had a mode where you could CHOOSE which function you wanted, e.g. Related Passages on its own, or Study Bibles on its own. Maybe you can do that in Logos anyway. .... I forget!

      Ah, yes - these might be more useful solutions for my case. However, maybe it is ok that not all features appeal to me. I’m sure some people will really like the Insights sidebar for themselves. That’s ok with me. 👍

    yea that may be a beginner user tool, I get the feeling this will be a update (logos pro) that they will be constantly be incorporating all features within every app (desktop, mobile, web) allow with any new features as well earlier than everyone else, I think it will be like their VIP class

      I think you are onto something with this. We'll see how things continue to develop this year . . .

    I appreciate your insight. I’ve played with it but not really dug into how well it will help workflow.

      Yea, I like it for a relaxed single pane way of reading through the Bible.

    I don’t use the web version so this tool is new for me. I like the simplified study Bible feel and it doesn’t take up a lot of real estate on my 13” MacBook. I agree that it could be base of a more robust insights tool but the developers may be gauging acceptance. Overall I have this vision that Logos is seeking to expand its customer base and make this once highly scholarly tool more appealing to everyday theologians. I think the first wave of this were changes in the starter type packages. The broader the user base the more financially solvent the company. This applies to the subscription model as well; it doesn’t take a large investment to break into a substantial ground base of study material. What I desire is blend of each allowing the historical avenue of Logos users to exist with the subscription oriented and family base.

      Very insightful comments here, Berean. I appreciate you. Hopefully Logos will continue to offer tools that have a broad appeal to as many people as possible.

    I agree, if this had the ability to explore non-prioritized resources, this could be helpful. I find that I'm often beholden to commentators that I'm most familiar with. This could introduce you to something very helpful if it had that feature.

      Thanks, Chad! I’m finding that Smart Search helps with this sometimes. Gotta get creative!

    Agreed. I found it to be mostly unhelpful personally. A little bit more control could make it better.

    I guess I'm not understanding. How is this different than having a Bible and commentary open and having them both on the same "Link Set" (A B C D E F, etc)?

      You aren't wrong which is why I show that I won't be using it much. However, as a new user you may not know how to set that up so it might be more intuitive and simple. Also, navigating between commentaries and study bibles might be easier with the dropdown than with the arrow keys.

    It's a false claim. And you know it is the impression you give me. Which is not the impression most will get, some in ignorance will. Just because you have pastor in front of your name does not mean you are trustworthy. You need to let you character bare that testimony. As it stands, whether you like it or not, your current presentation of yourself resembles an angle of light and a false worker of righteousness. You need to see how Paul took the ground from under their feet. It was not by way of "Man who teaches the Bible and talks about religious and spiritual things".

    You are not 'Pastor' Tanner. Your local church 'may' have elected you as its pastor, but the world has no elected you. Very presumptuous of you to present yourself to the world as 'Pastor'. You are simple Tanner. On that account, win us over by your words and not a self-imposed title.

    • @PastorTanner
      @PastorTanner  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, Stephen. To me it is a simple matter of shared convention. ‘Man who teaches the Bible and talks about religious and spiritual things’ is often called a pastor in our world. If that bothers you, feel free to call me whatever you please. 👍

      @@PastorTanner That is not the case at all. Just own it. so in India, Pakistan, Africa you are received as 'pastor'? Just saying it is convention just not make it convention. There is no authority in your words because you are self-titled 'pastor'. Stay in your lane, stay local.

    • @PastorTanner
      @PastorTanner  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stephent5963 It is quite simple, Stephen. To the majority audience on YT, the word 'pastor' in front of my name communicates something about my content. Hopefully it clarifies the sort of material you are likely to find on my channel. That's all.

      @@stephent5963 I am, but that isn't the point I am making. The point I am making is purely functional. 'Pastor' properly expresses the sort of work I do and content I am making here on YT.
