- What If Babidi Turned Good in the Buu Saga? In the battle between Majin Buu and Goku, the creator of Majin Vegeta (Babidi) almost fell to his own minion! However, what if in the last #DragonBallZ saga, Goku was the one to save the wizard from doom and give him a chance with Piccolo's assistance? In this interesting #DragonBall story, we might have a magician on side to help with Super Buu and more in the precursor to #DragonBallSuper

Don't remember Bibidi lore exactly. But if we're operating under the guise Babadi has locked away memories of Bibidi, I think we can say Babadi and the remaining cast end up in the Sacred World of the Kais. There, he remembers Bibidi way more vividly, and Buu's true form. Then there's a shift. He remembers Bibidi's motivation being less about conquering and more destroying. Bibidi knew Buu couldn't be controlled, but Bibidi just wanted to see the universe burn so he started with the Kais. But the atrocities he committed slowly ate at Bibidi. The seemingly unlimited power out of his control. The sheer scope of ending everyhting ever made. Meanwhile Babadi only wants to rule and clearly this wasn't the way. That's his impetus.
In theory since majin buu was conjured up from a force of nature couldn't babidi just make buu go back to being that?

Masako may have gone a different route, but I think this would've been better. Part 3's okay, but you came up with something really good!

Well, for the next part, either Vegito will fight Buu, or we'll have a super strong wizard man in the form of Bibiku, which I find the idea absolutely hilarious.

So Babidi turning good is a slow burn, huh? He hasn't really done anything "good" yet. My guess is that maybe he will somehow seal Buu away? But that means no Uub though.
A lot of his "What-if" had prevent Uub from rising.
Im surprised Gotenks was the one who blow up the door of the time chamber, When piccolo did it on the original they looked quite surprised, for a moment i thought they would go ssj3 right there and then.
So glad you brought up Super Buu being able to tear a hole between diminisions. I mean it's not some filler, this is something just plain old super Buu can do.
It makes you wonder what Jiren, Granola, Beerus, Ultra Ego Vegeta, etc. Etc. Could do to the multiverse if they felt so inclined.
This is actually so so much fun to see the events we are so familiar with from someone like Babidi's perspective. And it is a testament to Masako's incredible story writing and telling that it feels so natural.

Goku thinks well if babidi had more power maybe he could reseal buu. Also he could keep an eye on him from the inside. And don't think goku wouldn't do it, he considered Hercule.

I also have a what if idea. What if Gohan got the heart virus before or instead of Goku.
I can Imagine Goku picturing him fusing with Babi...oh, wait, he has no ears to put the earing on, nevermind. By the way, i can imagine Potato head over there actually figuring out that he would get his butt whooped in a matter of seconds if he tries anything funny (either because of Buu or because of the dragon team) so he would end up actually trying to helping them, telling them everything he knows about buu and, after seeing how Buu and Hercule bounded, and after everything he saw, he might have a change of heart, becoming neutral, sorta like Piccolo after the 23th Budokai, after being defeated by Goku
Wach him put th through his head flap or his mustache tentacle, he understands magic stuff if he says the ear doesn't matter then its not a complete ass pull.

Could Babidi's Majin mind control spell somehow work on Hercule, only without the mind control?
I imagine Babidi possessing a well of cosmic knowledge after traveling through space for decades, maybe even knowing about Beerus and the other universes
It'd be hilarious seeing him and Vegeta freaking out at Beerus' presence. Maybe Babidi can use his magic to make more pudding appear and appease the God of Destruction?

I continue to adore Babidi and the sheer refresher that a more analytical mind is as a protagonist in dragon ball. I also love how there are plenty of points that aren't immediately rectified and/or fixed and that we get to see Babidi carry on into further episodes.
Nice video Masako. I like the rapport that Piccolo and Babidi is developing. Babidi magic abilities are also very underatted they have so much potential to develop.
Babidi and Piccolo will be BFFs at the end of this series, I just know it.

You're underutilizing Babidi here. Technically he could have probably utilized to Majin powerup on Gotenks (using the rage from both of their losses of parents) or Gohan (using his rage).
Or maybe use magic to make the fusion last longer (a sealing spell of sorts).
So far this has done nothing to the story to change it. :(

Masako! I have an idea for a story. Vegeta was once told that there was a 2 year limit for training in the time chamber or the door would disappear. What if he went back in the Beerus saga and blasted his way out when he was stronger than Beerus?
well I can see a blunt moment coming from hercule asking do you have any usefull spells or any that can help from Babidi then realizing he might have something?
Survival instincts and harsh lessons. Babidi's slow burn reminds me of Vegeta's.

I still feel like Babidi's going to try to control Buu, hoping that he could somehow take over Buu's original form... no matter how misguided a thought that might be. All in all, a fun part, and I look forward to the next one.

So interesting thought masako, have you considered a "what if" where multiple villains turn good, cell and Frieza are often a tag team, why not both? With how dbz villains in subsequent sagas are leagues stronger to curbstomp previous power levels it might not reduce the threats enough to remove static story tension.

I don't know that reason was eh to forget that Buu can absorbed people if he trying to get on the Z-Fighters good side. Also why did Buu absorbed Gohan right away, and not after Goku showed up and Gotenks fusion ran out? Other then those two questions not really a lot to say since everything went like cannon. Finally still hoping to come back is: What if Gohan went SSJ first? Anyways another good part, and looking forward to the next part soon.

@@realmoftheouroboros8313 No I understand that, but Gohan getting absorbed right away was questionable, because he only did that because the Gotenks fusion time ran out.
I can only hope we're about to get Gokudi in the next part, that'd be really something new. Just imagine, Goku's strength plus Babidi's magic, and the power boost from a fusion... wouldn't be as strong as Vegito for sure but... that magic could do some interesting things.

If Piccolo can use the Mafuba, why not use it on Buu by now? Figure the show would have them try and somehow fail..
If i may be permitted a suggestion, maybe after all this buu shmuck is over, the first person babidi could bond with could be one of the kids, which impressed with his "magic tricks", seek tutelage on such powers, making potato man slowly soften by such admiration.

I think this potato while not being full of starch, is just full of it in general.
I’m kinda hoping Goku doesn’t wait for Vegeta to show and fuses with Babidi to become Babiku or whatever. It wouldn’t increase his raw strength, but he’d have Babidi’s knowledge and magic to combine with Goku’s power. It’d be… and interesting combo.
