- What If Babidi Turned Good in the Buu Saga? In the battle between Majin Buu and Goku, the creator of Majin Vegeta (Babidi) almost fell to his own minion! However, what if in the last #DragonBallZ saga, Goku was the one to save the wizard from doom and give him a chance with Piccolo's assistance? In this interesting #DragonBall story, we might have a magician on side to help with Super Buu and more in the precursor to #DragonBallSuper

Babadi becoming Uub's mentor would be interesting. He could become his Ben Kenobi/Yoda to Uub's Luke. Uub having the Grand Supreme Kai's God ki also means he could potentially use magic with it. Babadi would also be a very interesting counter to Moro now that I think about it. He'd also probably be able to explain the 'Magical Girl' aspect of the Kamikaze Fireballs as well.
If Babadi encountered the Kashvar Hoi, that'd be a good antagonist for him to prove he's changed too. Unlocking Tapion from his box, and then using his own magics and expertise against Hirudegarn in efforts to make up for being tricked...Babadi has a lot of potential to explain and learn about all the other magical arts of Dragon Ball. Dr. Rota vs Babadi too!
Babidi helping Uub learn to use magic would be really cool. It reminds me of Zen Buu teaching Uub to use magic in Dragon Ball Multiverse.
I'd love to know about Dr Rota's abilities, however that's impossible since even the anime has no idea. That's his whole bit, and I have a love-hate relationship with it.
Reminds me of how I imagined a power up where Uub would bring out his inner Kid Buu, using evil energy and acting more similarly to him.

MasakoX Can I make a few suggestions going forward? These ideas could be unique material for adventures and growth for Babidi. It will make Babidi The Potato Wizard eventually turn into The Potato Sorcerer Supreme.
1. When Babidi is doing his community service make sure he actually uses the enchantments on altering and transporting people to the locations of his minions home worlds on the Look Out for training. Maybe he alters the spells and uses them as a sort of warm up training room for rookies on Kami's Look Out.
2. Babidi offers up his knowledge of spells and how magic operates to the good guys and how to counter certain spells. Which he offers. And Babidi also discovers all that his creator Bibidi knew over the ages.
3. Babidi learns some new spells and develops new abilities to help out. Like how Puar and Oolong can shape shift, and maybe learn fortune telling from Baba. And for some new abilities look into some of the games with some of the abilities Babidi has in some of the video games.
But if you need more inspiration for Babidi and his growth here is more. MasakoX Maybe you can go old school Dungeons and Dragons with the various Wizard, Mage, and Sorcerer archetypes and also the Final Fantasy games various Mage Classes or The Dragon Quest Mages. Also please take inspiration from Marvel Comic's Doctor Strange animated movie, his MCU Films and the Marvel 616 comics and DC's Doctor Fate comics as well as John Constantine, Zatanna, and other Wizard and Sorcerer superheroes from Marvel and DC. Also maybe he works to merge magic with Ki energy for more powerful techniques, more potent spells, and other mystical abilities.
But(and this could just be me being a cultural analyst and aspiring anthropologist)please MasakoX, please dig into actual cultural Indian and also East Asian Mysticism. Such as Shamanic and other Religious Rituals and other Spiritual Practices. Such as him gaining enlightenment from Taoist practices and Buddhist and Taoist folk magic, and some branches of Esoteric Buddhism. And also East Asian Alchemy and various branches of Astrology.
Also MasakoX maybe you can also dig into actual western and Middle Eastern branches of the occult, philosophy and other religions. Fore example Hermeticism, Norse magics, the ideas of Alaister Crowley, Wicca, Druidism, Ancient Egyptian Magics. The rituals of the Celts, actual Louisiana and Hatian Vodoun, actual Necromancy, Tarot Card readings and Divination, The Keys of Solomon, The Ars Gotia, Mystical Judaism, and actual Alchemy and Alchemic practices and philosophy. Finally take a look at the ideas of the Theosophic Society founded by Helena Blavatsky and the works of other real world occultists and mystics.
I also recommend you take a look at these anime and manga as ideas for inspiration later down the line. Use the Negima!? franchise and also the Shaman King franchise as starting points and also possible inspiration for his own adventures(Use the Manga of Shaman King and Negima!? first please).
I also recommend the Little Witch Academia series, The original Yugioh anime and manga, The Full Metal Alchemist franchise, Slayers. From the Novels to the manga and anime. And finally the works of Type Moon that make up the Nasuverse and the various spells and paths of magic in the Nasuverse as they are accurate to some paths of occultism and Babidi gains powers similar to other Wizards, Casters, and Magicians in Type Moon.
4. Babidi after he is done learning all of that he takes on students and eventually builds a school for mages to teach the next generation of mystics to defend the Earth. When he is done with those projects he ends up helping Son Goku who trains his martial arts potential after Goku asks him to help train Uub to reach his full mystical potential. Finally when Babidi's time among the living is nearly done Babidi writes down and chronicles all that he has learned from Earth and from across the cosmos and also he also writes his memoirs of his adventure. Babidi then gives his body of knowledge to Dende for safe keeping before passing away.
Is the Potato Wizard pulling a 16?! A bad guy redeeming himself by blowing himself up?!?!
In a more magical way, but pretty much.

I feel like in the future, Moro would be revealed as having some kind of connection to Babidi. Maybe there's a space Hogwarts out there in Universe 7 for evil wizards?
Fingers crossed that Babidi doesn't try to mind control Beerus during Battle of Gods. As Xenoverse 1 proved, Beerus CANNOT be mind controlled. If Babidi even tries to do such a thing, the next part of this What If will likely be its finale.

I am geniunely interested in seeing how this goes... especially since Babidi isn't a good guy even in this story! He was just out to save his own skin, but I am betting Piccolo is going to get him into shape. Who knows, Potato Head might actually truly become the most powerful wizard in the universe after all
Hey Masako I love this series, also when are you going to recontinue the Yaijirobe What If series that was one of the best in the fun and great series you did. Cant wait for the next episode.

I’ve wanted to play with the idea that even though people were made to forget Buu, they didn’t entirely forget that Babidi was after Goten, Trunks and “Majunior”, meaning a whole generation subconsciously remembers all three.

arguably my favorite WI, it seems very wacky but its a nice approach to a different direction.
Okay. I always drop this comment but I'm always late in videos, so I'll drop it again. I... Made a what if and ran with the idea and story quite a bit on my own.
'What if Bulma tried to save the future instead of Trunks?'
This involved Bulma hiding her identity as she tried to recruit the saiyans, sparing Nappa (by suggesting that Nappa being alive would lead Vegeta to being a Super Saiyan) and Raditz (going to Namek, asking Guru for help, and making 2 wishes, leaving the third to Guru who saved the 'the one village' that never came back, that he learned about from Bulma's memories she gave freely to earn his help). This led to wild results that saw the likes of Raditz fighting Recoome on equal footing, Ginyu nearly ending the saiyan race in a blind rage, Nappa becoming the strongest (base form) saiyan, the fight to the death with 3rd form King Cold, and Ginyu 16. I would love to hear comments or opinions on this.
Perhaps there is a chance that Babidi could help in growing the potential of the dragon balls in terms of strength and capabilities now that he might possibly be cooperative with the Z-Fighters if not then fully integrated into their ranks.

I also wish there was a good explanation as to how magic works in DBZ or DBS, I mean we use ki for so many things, how would it be possible to have both ki and magic in one body? Its like having two different sources of energy.

Ah Potato Wizard Commentary during the fight neat. So Babidi the reason why that Goku, Vegeta, and Majin Buu beat Kid Buu right away and not go through want happen in cannon cool. It will be interesting to see Babidi's reaction when Beerus shows up. Anyways another interesting part, and looking forward to the next part.

This is a good start... But BEFORE Beerus shows-up, Baba-Di should try to "help" by enhancing anyone that wants it, thinking it will increase his control over them... Also he should meet Fortune-Teller Baba, and they should talk shop a lot... Developing New Magic.
Then When Beerus DOES show up, Baba-Di should realize his place in the grand scheme of things... And this literally strikes the fear of G.O.D. into him... Making him take his reformation seriously.
