Last day in public accounting is tomorrow. Starting in a midstream oil and gas company on Monday :)
Be confident and have a positive attitude when interviewing guys and best of luck!

Hiii Stephie, can you please make a video on interview tips for us who have been in public accounting for 2 years and moving to industry bc I don't know how to translate my audit skills to jobs like revenue accountant etc

Thank you so much for this video, Stephie! I recently left public accounting and really needed this! Haven’t heard anyone go through the struggles transitioning so this was so helpful! Would love to see more videos about your experience working in industry during that period of time you were there!

You are truly so amazing!! It was you who really pushed and motivated me to go for my accounting degree at 37 years old!! You are truly a wealth of knowledge, and I truly adore you!!

I’m actually considering going back to Public. My experience in Industry hasn’t been good. Horrible, toxic environment and low pay. May try another company but this has been a nightmare.

I needed to hear this!!! I'm not in accounting but I am in retirement financial services. Just started a new job and hating the learning curve. Thanks for the reminder: get comfortable with not being comfortable. Lol

This was super insightful! I like your public accounting videos a lot and was wondering what your opinion is on marketability in industry. I know a lot of people leave public at senior and thought that sticking it out until manager was a better idea. Is that true or is there a “can’t teach an old dog new tricks” attitude towards people who stay in public for too long?

I really cant understand what you all talk about for big 4 audit. In my country there is no similarities. There is no training, there is no priority to the auditor for the PBE files, we got the files weeks later, we get bullied by client, you have no real structure, everyone is miserable. When i was in big 4 accounting outsourcing (and not audit) which was like being a contract accountant, i learnt so much more. I dont know why everyone is confident in audit opportunities. I learnt nothing professional there. What i did learn is being durable to long hours, to being durable to toxic people and those kind of things. Get the goodness out of audit and learn a proper job that wont kill you due to working 24/7.

Hi Stephie, I’m in public and thinking of going to another public accounting firm. What do you recommend in the process of exiting?
