To whoever asked about tattoos- I have full body tattoos (everything covered but my hands neck and stomach for now) and yeah, i have to keep it covered, I’d rather die than let my partner see my chest tattoo. But someone like me or someone with even a sleeve of tattoos is a lot different personality wise than the tiny Pinterest tattoo you got on spring break. They probably won’t care. Dainty little tattoos are very common. (I’m speaking on public accounting in tax)
Wow! I watched some of your videos already and this is first time I bumped to this video and I'm surprised you are Filipina, I do too. I'm just one of your followers and I bump into you because I'm about to get my CPA license. I'm a late bloomer when it comes to accounting. I'm 52 years old now and I just finished my Master in Accounting this year and don't get me wrong I starting taking classes when I was in mid-20's because I am taking classes one by one every semester but still proud that I finished all of them except CPA still working on that. My question is how do you plan when you are in the middle of studying to get your CPA license?
Hi thank you for answering my question. I have another question, this May I am getting an associates degree in business accounting and Im undecided if I should go for my bachelor degree. My husband and I are starting a business in real estate. I was thinking in looking for am accounting job and I wondering if I could get a job with an associates❓and if you think I could get a really good job later on after I get some experience❓Also you think I could do the accounting work for our new business or do I need to get the CPA❓
Additional question, what is your opinion on industry “entry level” accountant with 10yrs experience considering transitioning into public by sitting for the CPA? Too late to switch to public, since experience may not transcend and you may start out with entry level staff who are 10yrs younger than you? Stay in industry but use masters or CPA to continue to advance your career with another company since experience may transcend?
Hello Stephie, I am currently in public accounting but one day I would like to move to industry because it is just too much work. What i am afraid of is that public accounting is interesting, you never get bored (at least me). I am afraid that when moving to industry everything would be too much of a routine, you think that's the case for most accounting related jobs? (Controlling, etc)
What would you recommend if the bachelor's isn't accounting or business? I have an education degree, not sure if I want to get a masters that will only let me focus on accounting since I haven't worked the field yet
I have the opportunity to do the MBA program for free, and already have my MSA, an associate at EY and currently studying for FAR. Should I take the opportunity to get my MBA as well?
Hi! I just want to share that from my experience, I was able to find some entry-level accounting jobs through my school's career site and through some job agencies (Accountemps, etc). I got interviews from both sources and landed on a job through a job agency in the end.
Nope, they don't charge a fee for the job search. They earn money by taking a percentage of your wage/salary if their client (the company/firm) hires you. If you happen to find an agency that charges you, look for a different agency.
Love the information. Currently in the Navy about to get out and relocate to Houston. Trying to figure out where to find what schools that allow me to be CPA eligible. Would you happen to know where I could find that source?
I see that you didn’t go for your graduate degree but rather you took your classes in a non degree seeking program to become eligible. Do you think not getting a graduate degree has prevented industry jobs or is the cpa better than a graduate degree? Thanks!
If you have an actual 4 year bachelor's degree the cheapest way to become a cpa is just to go to a community college and take 30 credit hours (approved courses based on your state) to get your 150 to sit. A masters anywhere will always be more expensive.
You should do Jucy's paw print. Thank you for doing these! I have a question for #askstephie. Is there any way to work outside of the USA with a US CPA license? Specifically moving and working to Russia.
Gery H. Yes a US CPA license is recognized as the gold standard all over the world. There are some countries, however, that have their own public accounting certification like the CA exam in Canada and India. You would obviously need to be fluent in the local languages as well.
May I ask: I know there is a difference between BA in Accounting vs BBA in Accounting. However, am not sure if it does matter when it comes to employment. Thank you,
Hey, how r u, Do you advise to start a firm after being a staff for 2 years? I feel that working by my own really helped a lot more to increase my experience and better paid what

How important is your undergrad GPA? If you plan on getting your masters and CPA?
Steph, can you make a video of how to save up for a house?
And thank you for answering my question!
Any time love! Yes I will talk more about it 😊
Tattoo idea: Get a print of Juicy’s paw print. Similar to how people do hand or footprints of their babies ❤️
That's definitely high on my list!
Awesome video! :)

Quick accounting question, I have an ACCT degree, looking to get my CPA with the WGU MS program, is that the cheapest way to get CPA?

BA is BBA with a Bachelors degree , BBA is better for employment MBA in accounting is best if that's what you want to specialize in
