Nice review, so having lived in town and gone back many more times (was there a few weeks ago for Sept's WW2 Weekend Encampment at Ike's Farm) 1 thing that is a must do before going is learn about the battle there are many youtube channels that will give you great info - Forward Gettysburg / Project_Past / History Savior 1941 / Vlogging Through History / History Underground. as there is so many spots to see pick the 1's that you most want to learn about and make it a point to see them ( Culp's Hill / Devil's Den ect....) esp if your state had units fighting in the battle visit there locations Also Gburg is a great Foodie town lots of great places to eat so look into that before going to help plan your trip as some places can have long wait times. Location - your also only an hr drive from Antietam Battlefield & 2+ hrs from D.C. so it's a good base to day trip to other locations
