add a METRIC TON of thrusters to the plane and try if you can steer the captured plane like that, also try if you can speed up/slow down the plane with alot of forward/backward thrusters

2:31 i mean that's essentially what happened. The engines got better and they didnt need all those wings. (More wings at a slower speed = less wings at a higher speed) The extra weight and drag etc. Of the top wing made it even more advantageous to just get rid of it.
10:24 I think I know why the sky looks like that: there are probably 2 skyboxes, one with collision and a smaller one with just the texture (to save on rendering and storage costs by having it a lower resolution). The texture can be smaller because it’s still big enough that you’d never go there, but the collision skybox being bigger allows for more space for ridiculous experiments. The way it’s done, it’s also basically a warning that you should go back. I think the blue stays because it isn’t actually part of the skybox texture, but based on the camera angle and wether or not there’s something in the way.
You should try and make a juggernaut blimp. A multi-player battle where you all make battle 'ships' not planes but blimps or floating boats. Anything to airship battle with. Would be fun to see!
Not sure if Scrapman will see this, but he should put anchors on the cockpit/seat, whatever he wants to use. Then fly up to the planes, connect to them from underneath or however, then detach from the rest of his plane so he's just a cockpit/seat attached to the npc plane.
Seeing the red balloon take damage from the impact of the plane alone begs the question, can a projectile based weapon destroy bosses without the use of actual weapons
Or imagine a plane with a detachable half with guns and all, that flies towards the nearest target and keeps firing all weapons until it crashes into it
How about using the new smart cannons? Put them on a hinge and on the connecting piece put a thruster in the opposite direction. Like if you imagine this as a capital T then the top of the letter can be divided in left and right with one being the cannon and the other being the thruster and the trunk part of the T will be the hinge connection to the main body of the rocket
Speaking of losing the top wings the near crash in the last video that blew them off reminded me of a somewhat similar scene from Stuart little 2 during the fight with falcon
LMFAO. I love this! I wonder if you can weaponize this. Essentially chucking the planes into the ground or a cliff. Though they may be agile enough to recover.
You could probably control the npc plane by building a plane where you can move your seat up, down, left and right relative to the attachment point. It would make sense for the plane to fly up when your seat is lower than it and down when you are higher than it.
Now that you've proven you can anchor to the enemy fighters, I think you should look at WHAT you can anchor to them. A timed bomb, a sail for the fun of just throwing them off, a dragon engine set at a janky angle to also toss them around. What else can you "accessorize" these new "friends" of yours with? Can you toggle a smart cannon on the back of one and have it be a turn coat as it flies in formation? There's a lot you have yet to test.
Concept: a breakaway piece on the plane with minimal wings, thrusters, a proximity sensor, grappling pieces, and a minigun. Launch the breakaway piece like a missile, which attaches to a target once the proximity sensor is triggered. When the piece is grappled on, the minigun activates, shredding the target?
"I would like to talk to you about your plane's extended warranty. An accident could happen at any moment. Are you prepared for such an event? Maybe I could interest you in some Scrapsurance. If you switch over now, you could save 20%."

Hey ScrapMan, I know it is VERY unlikely you see this message, but I was wondering if you could contact the devs about a few problems for the console version of Trailmakers, because that is the one I play one due to not having a PC. Here are the issues: 1- The game is EXTREMELY prone to crashing or freezing completely, and I'm not sure why. My Xbox is pretty new and I treat it well, but the game is always crashing, sometimes I only have to enter the gallery (workshop or whatever it is called) for the game to freeze up and crash pretty quickly. 2- The workshop (gallery) now no longer wishes to load at all. I don't even have near the maximum amount of downloads, and it won't even let me search. 3- undownloading blueprints from the workshop. It is very tedious because you have to open the gallery and go to a whole separate section just to undownload each and every single one, needing multiple button presses, so if you need to get rid of a lot of them, it could take an hour or so, so I feel the whole console workshop and blueprint system might need a fix-up. If you do see this, and decide to tell the Devs, Thank You! (Love ur vids soo much haha!)
After seeing this it seems to have great potential for multiplayer Monday. Imagine one pre built plane trying to not get attached to mini custom planes that you build to dock on top of it. Winner would be who attached first
I got an idea for a multiplayer, you each build a plane for attachment and attacking, it’s a time based survival, one person attaches to an enemy plane and then the others try to take them down. Maybe the enemy plane will do more maneuvering if there’s other planes coming at it
