    Watching this over and over, I now understand the root of Sindri’s bitterness; while Brok was bleeding out, they were fixating entirely on Atreus. Precious seconds ticked by while Sindri pleaded with them for help.

    • @sunbathingsquirel3339
      @sunbathingsquirel3339 ปีที่แล้ว +133

      Yeh but sadly Sindri would have wanted wanted Brok to be saved from death, again. Not what Brok would have wanted. Besides the group were focused on having two problems not three - Brok dead, Arteus gone and Odín aware of all their plans.
      You gotta wonder though how nobody realised that Fake Tyr was not in Sindri’s house all the time, prehaps he made another projection of himself that was one of his ravens that could answer basic things in Tyr’s voice to keep anyone away from his room

    • @banx757
      @banx757 ปีที่แล้ว +170

      I think the root of Sindri's bitterness is exactly what he said to Atreus the last time they saw each other. It was Atreus' plan to look for Tyr, and it was Atreus who ran towards war despite not understanding the true cost of war. Towards that end, Sindri gave a lot to aid Atreus and what he got in return was his brother dead and a home that isn't a home anymore. Sindri already stated that he brought his brother back because he couldn't be alone and now he's lost his brother permanently. And when you think about the conversation they had while going to see Freya at the Council of Valkryie's, it just adds to the frustration. During that quest, Atreus is shown to be impulsive, reckless, and self-centered. He goes to meet Freya without a plan and doesn't take into consideration the danger he's putting Sindri in and won't listen to reason. Sindri reflecting on these things and how they led to Brok's death is why he's bitter towards Atreus. Sindri is grieving right now and is in a very bad place. I just hope the story forward leads to a reconciliation with Atreus or at the very least doesn't lead him to try towards a more villainous path.

      Very true,
      Arteus is a ‘BOY’ and boys are reckless and hormonal when they are teenagers. So the feeling that he must achieve greatness in his life to be a better god weights on him. Understandable why Sindri is the way he is but it also understandable why Arteus is the way he is. We can only hope there will be another mythological God of War makes in way into. If they visit the Celtic Gods then the Developers can introduce a lot of new mythologies, also with Arteus being grown up he might be the main character in a new game. We can only hope

      Someone made a very good point in another video I saw that I think makes sense. Sindri only saved 3/4ths of Brok's soul, the part Sindri could not find was Brok's "way." Without his way he can never fully pass onto the next life, forever a lost soul. Sindri's probably pretty beat up about Brok's death and either feeling guilty about saving him in the first place or not having saved all of him because Sindri will never see him again, and Brok can never fully rest.

      That's another proof of how simple-minded and dense they all are. First of all, Atreus didn't earn the mask, it was given to him by Odin, and his real name is in fact Loki, since that's what the prophecies and the Giants call him and Atreus was just a temporary name to hide his true nature. It seems the only character that has a grip on reality in this game is Odin, and he pays with his life for it, and they even destroy the mask because they rather live in ignorance than face the real Truth about existence. Mimir stated it himself. Odin manipulated everything from the point of view of storycraft:
    Made up a compelling story about Tyr's vow to never weld a weapon again, reinforcing a weakness that needed correcting for the sake of saving all the Nine (Eight) realms from Ragnarok.
    Introduced a plot point where Helwalkers attacked the safe haven of all the main cast, forcing Tyr to break his vow and take up his arms to defend his friends if anything like that were to happen again...
    And finally reaching full circle, on the path to "redeeming" himself, Tyr promises to lead his friends into battle so that they may stop Odin.

    Y’know I thought something was off when I first met “Tyr”. Because let’s compare “his” punishment to Freya and mimir. The former was cursed from ever leaving Midgard and the latter was fused with a tree and was tortured for 109 years. And “Tyr” was locked in a room with a rope tied to his neck? That’s seemed kinda lenient for someone who had a huge role trying to usurp Odin.

  • @nickywags0712
    @nickywags0712 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    The twist is great. But it’s the buildup that’s the intense bit. You notice the Loki, even if it’s only in the back of your head. And Brok (who you understand is a true honest person who speaks his mind no matter how crass) so when he goes off, you start kinda waking up to all the little things about Tyr that you always catlalogued up to this point in this game. Then when he mentions the Loki bit you start to realize something is very wrong. Then comes the stab which breaks our hearts and sends the audience going crazy. Its perfect storytelling

How he always seems to say things that either cause the problems between Kratos and Atreus, or he at least escalates the situation. He calls Freya "Frigg" the first time the meet in Sindri's house. And then I noticed he’d call Atreus “Loki” and kept talking about how he knows Kratos’ nature and about how he’s violent and all this, but….he wasn’t told enough about Kratos and Atreus for him to make comments like that, and the way he spoke to Kratos reminded me of Odin. But I didn’t fully put it together until Atreus showed everyone the mask and Tyr started commenting on it, once again…knowing more than he logically should as he should have been absent for most things anyone mentions.
