  • We considered Rabbi David Jaffe's definition of Patience, which he says is better described as forbearance. This means that while we have the right to be upset, we hold back our reactions.
This is the 8th American Mussar Cycle since we started gathering in March 2020. Mussar is a Jewish spiritual practice that helps you identify those things that keep holding you back, and offers a path towards balance and healing through mindful action. This is a drop in group, people of all ages, religious backgrounds, and any level of Jewish knowledge welcome. Everyone had an opportunity to share their perspective, connect to others, and pick a practice for the following week. You are invited to experience this for yourself.
This cycle is special because each week we will relate the soul trait we are exploring to the trait of #Chesed, which is hard to translate. It means to go above and beyond to help or support someone else.
Facilitated by Rabbi Greg Marcus, founder of AmericanMussar.com, author of "The Spiritual Practice of Good Actions: Finding Balance Through the Soul Traits of Mussar" Sign up for the American Mussar email list to learn about future sessions. americanmussar...
