DEWE 2024 RECAP | Depth Wish Freediving

Deep End Weekend (DEWE) is a multi-day event designed to develop and support a safety conscious society of freedivers and also promote the opportunity for divers to make lifelong connections within the freediving community. DEWE first started in 2019 with a handful of local freedivers and has since grown into one of the biggest yearly freediving events in Florida with divers attending from all over the world.
Held in Central Florida in the fresh, clear waters of our breath-taking springs, divers of all experience levels and backgrounds gather to learn and practice skills during our expert led dive sessions. During these sessions, divers will have the chance to learn about and practice yoga, breath work, basic and advanced freediving techniques, rescue techniques, and training strategies designed to minimize risk while maximizing benefits.
During the day, freedivers make their way out to several local spring options to practice freediving, learn from our instructors, or just hang out to enjoy the scenery. In the evenings, the divers make their way back to DEWE's community campsite. Here, divers will find an area where they can browse artwork and merch from different local vendors to buy and enjoy live music played by the campfires. As the sun goes down, our presenters come out, and divers can have the choice of joining different short, fun workshops held each evening. At each DEWE, divers can also participate in the raffle, boasting an exciting array of prizes, all of which are held on display throughout the event.
