- Joe Jackson and his band perform "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" live in Milwaukee at The Pabst Theater on Monday, June 17, 2024 as part of the MR. JOE JACKSON PRESENTS “THE TWO ROUNDS OF RACKET TOUR” US AND EUROPE 2024.
Featuring Joe Jackson Solo Set & THE MUSIC OF MAX CHAMPION with a Nine-Piece Band.
“The Two Rounds Of Racket Tour” will be in two parts, with no intermission: a solo set by Joe Jackson of his original songs, and a set based on the album What A Racket! - the first performance in more than 100 years of the songs of forgotten Music Hall genius Max Champion, featuring a nine-piece band.
My bald head and glasses in the front row. Left side. A phenomenal show.
Lovely to see gorgeous Joe again. Remember this first time round in 1979 when I had got married. My late hubby was quite jealous of my Joe fix. lol.
I saw JJ radically change the arrangement to this song in 1982. I was in stunned silence. I’m glad that he continues to rework it. It’s always interesting when artists do this.
You're probably already aware but there are 3 completely different arrangements of this song on his Live 1980/86 album. This version is similar to the "acoustic" version from 1984 on that album. The "a cappella" version from 82/83 is awesome too!
I treasure the video of him doing this a capella on one of the Rock Goes To College programmes from the 80s. This is pretty special too.
As only Joe Jackson could. If you ever get the chance to see him GGGOOO!!!!!
What fun! Great to see Mr Jackson still in action 😊
What an amazing version of a favorite song. "They say looks don't count for much, if so there goes your proof" What a great line!
Joe looks so dapper! Great musicians ; and I'd recognize Joe's voice anywhere
OMGosh still brilliant after all these years.
Keeping it fresh. No nostalgia. What separates the artists from the mere performers.
This is just beautiful.
Joe knows he would have gone insane years ago if he didn't do performances like this. But I would much rather the original with the guitar and metallic bass in it.
The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang version of Rock and Roll!!
Looks like a really entertaining show.
How fun! Thank you for sharing this. Wish I could have seen it live!
Well, that was cool! Thanks for posting... g'day from Australia!!
Awesome! Well done, Cheers....
Very cool.
Still got a fab voice after all these years.
Woohoo!! Simply great!
This is pretty cool actually
Saw this show last month in Portsmouth, NH, it was great! Joe exploring old music and taking us for a beautiful ride…
This looks lovely!
Have come to really love this song!
Epic Joe.
funny bit ... and so wonderful !!
Saw the same show in Denver - fantastic. Come on Milwaukee, very subdued joining in at the end
Ha! It was a Monday night but no excuses! 😂
What is this project?
@@davidhull1481 The tour is promoting his latest album, What a Racket!, which features Jackson and a 12-piece orchestra performing eleven songs ostensibly written by the fictional music hall performer Max Champion.
Yaaaah, I don't think so
Disney Park Version
He really has lost the plot
In your not so humble opinion….
@@andymccall6861 if you'd seen him at the Chequers Inn Lytchett Matravers in the early days you'd agree.
Judging by the people in the video standing at the front is there one there !
I saw Joe Jackson on his first US tour and he was fantastic....and it's because he keeps things fresh and interesting that he is still great live. This is a killer version of a great song and if it had sounded like this in 1979 it still would've been a hit.
