@@smorbiethegreatandbeautifu4391 A DRM game is something with copy protection that's usually implemented to prevent piracy. It never stops piracy but often gets in the way of legitimate users, to varying degrees and sometimes with payoffs to incentivise it. For example, many old games won't run on modern PCs because the copy protection is no longer recognised, so the game doesn't run. Other games use always-online as DRM, like SimCity 5 on release where you had to be online or couldn't play at all, even though it's a singleplayer game. Steam is a form of DRM, having you signed into an account that checks legitimacy before you run the game.
I don't know if it still works, but for a few years, if you were/are lucky to come across a nice customer service (it's better to contact/chat customer service on US website) and have some old CDs/keys they sometimes still could/can give you access to The Sims 2 Complete Edition (I got mine in 2017) :)
@Alexander Lindberg The only problem with The Sims 2: Super Collection (and the old The Sims 2 Stories Collections which used to be available) is you need a Mac to play it which most gamers probably won't have considering that Macs aren't tailored towards gaming in mind compared to gaming desktops or laptops which are suited for gaming. The Sims 2-4 as well as Stories, and Medieval don't require a high-end computer and almost every modern low-end computer aside from the useless $200 laptops/tablets, even the MacBook Air or Mac mini, can play it just fine. The only option for Windows users to get The Sims 2 is either download the Ultimate Collection if they have it or look for old DVD copies though the latter can be a problem since DVD/Blu-ray drives aren't included in most computers.
Ahhh the sims 2. Whereas the sims 3 is king in open world exploration, I think the sims 2 really succeeds in its micro mechanics. Hobbies, memories, how the aspiration meter works, etc. Fun game, I would love to play it again sometime.
@@buildinasentry1046 my favorite thing is shy sims and outgoing sims- like recently I saw Nervous Subject flirted with Pascal Curious and since he has NO personality points in the outgoing category, he acted shy and flustered when he flirted and got flirted with.
Playing Sims 3 i was actually missing Bon Voyage since that felt like actual vacation/relax focused expansion pack. Fingers crossed we get a mix of both in S5
As a previous mod creator thank you it’s been a headache over the years. I quit when my son was born. Now that my son is 9 and has has gotten into 4 I may break out the skills again.
What I want for The Sims 5: The Sims 1 music styles The Sims 2 babies and cars The Sims 2 details and storytelling The Sims 2 animations The Sims 3 open world neighbourhoods The Sims 3 expansion packs(China from World Adventures and Items from Into the Future expansions are great) The Sims 3 gameplay mechanics The Sims 4 multitasking The Sims 4 create a sims The Sims 4 house building mechanics The Sims 4 visuals styles(No over the top cartoonish style) Make The Sims 5 mainly single player
Nix on the multitasking for me. I'd rather just have my sims sit down to eat than playing musical chairs or going for a jog around the hood with their plate 🙄
The fact that they had to buy clothes, food, magazines, games, etc.. Them getting in the car... They even had a proper interaction for paying.. it was so immersive ♡
Yes! I don't understand why every iteration of the game has constantly removed those aspects when they should have added more -- that's what makes a life simulator! In TS1 we had even more options like buying gifts for friends, decorations, etc.
@@vanyadolly prob bcuz different developer? and the earlier dev won't let their ideas getting stolen that much or idk.. really unfortunate sims 4 is really beautiful in the eyes but a lot of loose in the gameplay
I played sims 2 for the first time last week after only playing sims 4 for the past couple years. The simple act of having to buy groceries added so much to the gameplay.
@@maiamcdaniel4361 it's kind of funny now days if you have money you can have any food and grocery easily delivered to your house. Sims 3 got more realistic over time lol.
The Sims 2 is where I had most fun when playing big family games, while Sims 3 is more the RPG type with the adventure, skill and challenge. Sims 4 feels closer to 2, but also feels like a downgrade compared to Sims 3 in terms of skill, but it got the best CAS feature. Sims 1 is where all psychopath started.
The sims 3 has more stuff to do, more mechanics to explore and personalities are more in-depth. But the sims 2 characters are infinitely more charismatic, and this is essential. In 3 I don't really care about my sims, they dont convince me. I very often find myself creating characters without even edditing their appearence just fo the sake of exploring game mechanics and testing personality traits. The sims 2 is the only one in wich I create families to create stories and grow the families, like really caring about my sims. At the end of the day 2 is better. I'm completely blinded by nostalgia but that's fine.
I see Sims 3 as being more of a doll house (which is ironic, considering the open world) whereas in Sims 2 the characters actually feel alive. Whenever I play Sims 3, it's usually pure story telling with me posing and manipulating the Sims, or playing some sort of survival challenge or rural town where I can explore the open world (and horses!). In Sims 2 it's more intimate and cozy, where I'm focused on regular Sims, their families and their lives. I've noticed that I get bored playing happy families in Sims 3 and immediately try to create drama, but I love seeing happy close families in Sims 2 because it feels more real and also more heartbreaking when something sad happens especially with the memory system
Yeah, the TS3 has a lot of great features and worlds to explore, but the sims themselves are secondary. I mean I've put hundreds of hours into World Adventures because it's so much fun, but it's not very compelling as a life simulator. In TS2 it's the sims that make the game and the world they live in interesting.
I absolutely LOVED Sims 2! I remember going round to my friend's after school just to play it for hours and having to do homework on the way to school in the morning cause we played too long LOL. It improved on Sims 1 in so many ways and it was still quirky AF as well as feeling so much more alive and cute
I remember when I bought the Double Deluxe, installed it and cried when the music came on. Then I heard about the Ultimate Collection offer and they were very kind to give me one. So I cried even more. It's a beautiful memory. I still play this wonderful game and don't think I will stop unless it, we forbid, stops working indefinitely.
I am playing mainly Sims 2 the last years, because of the Performance. It looks good and runs smooth on Speed 3. I like Sims 3 gameplay better, but since i play on Speed 3, 95% of the time. the game "tanks" and will start lagging hard until it becomes unplayable...I dont have this Problem in Sims 2. Every now and then I turn on Sims 1, but only for few minutes. Sims 4 can F- right off.
@@Ocidad 😋thihii. I am only really mad at sims 4 because i care. I love the sims. But what they did with sims 4, not good. I even wasted my money on those sims 4 addons...so sad
@@aggrojim6555 i agree too, it is really REALLY sad for the fan/player it is look beautiful but feels empty compared to sims 3 😔 i really hope there is a graphic mod sims 4 style in sims 3
@@Ocidad Yes.Empty and Soulless. And the Big Problem for me is: Sims 4 has the best BuildingMode and CAS. But I am not so interested in that part. I always played Premade Familes and Premade homes. For me Gameplay was Everything xD
Well actually if you don't get all of the expansions for Sims 3, it's not that bad. I have WA, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Seasons and Island Paradise and it runs pretty well. I think Pets might be the one that breaks the game a lot. I don't care for Pets that's why I don't have it.
Gotta love Sims 2! In terms of nostalgia, I would definitely say the top 3 computer game series would be Caesar 3/Pharaoh, Rollercoaster Tycoon, and the Sims. Really want that longer RCT 2 playthrough from you, Zakh!
I've been playing TS2 lately, the nostalgia was almost overwhelming when I heard the soundtrack. One thing I noticed is that I get attached to my sim must faster than I do in TS4 or even TS3. This game has a lot of charm found in little details.
When I first heard that Sims 2 was going to have characters that grew up and eventually died I hated the idea. Eventually I realized that it offered a much wider scope for narrative and you could watch your communities grow and develop over time.
Following a sim from birth to death is something else. Especially the way the TS2 sims feel so alive and individual truly allows you to grow attached in a way I haven't experienced in any other sim game. They even look right at you sometimes!
Sims 2 was great. Its interface gave me the same weird shiny and "bubbly" vibe that games like RCT 3, Theme Park, and early Mac OS did. Weird but good times.
The Sims 2 gameplay did have some issues (looking at you, Comfort and Environment meters (that were also in the Sims 1, and were a problem there too as far as I heard- I prefer the Sims 3's approach to this), and also the severely limited amount of Aspirations (again, I think the Sims 3 did this better but not for career rewards), but it did have some things going for it that I did not see in later games (the Fears system, especially, and that any sim you make will have some weak/bad traits, resulting in a more realistic sim) Never played the Sims 4, and based on what I heard of it, probably never will
Sims 2 also grants the most creative freedom for storytelling because it allows to easily create own worlds and family stories. That's actually the reason why I play it once in a while to this day. I guess many people feel the same.
I still play the Sims 2. Last year I bought a refirb. windows 7 just for that purpose. I've played all of the versions, but this is the best. I have it modded into my perfect game. I never plan to change.
The n'hoods are large because you can have 100 lots per neighborhood. Compared to Sims 4 with the largest world having 20 lots, that's amazing! The map view of Sims 4 looks more like Sims 1. It's called Academie le Tour because of one of the the execs at Maxis, Tim LeTourneau. The SIms version of Marco Polo they say: Timlah >>> Torno
The neighborhoods are the most editable in the franchise. I created the entire Lost Island from the ground up. You start with a blank slate and decorate it. You can't edit the roads, but if you have Sim City 4, you can create neighborhood templates. I have the game (autographed by Will Wright) but have never actually made a template. I have a template of Sims 1 Unleashed that a friend of mine made and I built all the Unleashed houses and families for Sims 2. Plus a few Hot Date Downtown lots.
LOL I'm still playing Sims 2 on my dedicated offline Windows 7 PC, using my original game discs and expansions that I collected one at a time as they came out. I did order a couple of stuff packs from eBay that I missed in the early '00s, so I've got everything now, I think. Best Sims version ever, still.
2:21:00 to me, it's definitely the best one. Wish EA would make a remaster of the the Sims 2 were they incorporate the Sims 3 open world experience and Sims 4 customizations whether in lot building or character creation. The Sims 2 definitely deserves a remaster
I couldnt manage to get this downloaded version to work on my newer comp so I went out and bought a older one with windows 7 just for Sims 2 .So worth it lol. Sims 2 is by far the best Sims game in terms of gameplay and all the lore. I wish EA would do a remaster on this game. Because like others said before me - it really really deserves it!
I was too lazy to buy a new computer so I just emulated windows 7 on VMWare thinking I was big brain 🧠 Turns out I still needed to do multiple graphics fixes 😂🤣
My favorite thing about the sims 2, the amount of lots/land you have to build on. You can also choose the dimensions of the lot (if there’s enough space). Sims 4 barely had any lots available to build on. Sims 2 you could really create your own community down to the tiniest detail. I still love sims 4!!
Emotions are a good concept but they are poorly implemented and makes them more bipolar than anything. Sims 2 personalities are better than 4 and even 3, personality points + Aspirations + memories + wants and fear and more makes them almost unique, with sims 3 traits and moodlets and sims 4 emotions (but with transitional emotions) they can be even better. The Sims 4 aspirations are bad, they are objectives but not aspirations. Sims 4 wants and fears are horrible (but better than whims) even Sims 3 wishes were better
@@TheUlquiorraCifer the aesthetic won’t ever resolve the function. Aesthetically I am able to tell the emotions b it the execution of how it interacts in the game is made very blandly especially how it advertised to be based on emotions yet sims 2 are better at it
I think you put it very well into words. Sims 1 Nostalgia + Sims 2 Charm + Sims 3 Open World + Sims 4 CAS and Build/Buy Mode should be the recipe for Sims 5, but I'm pretty sure they don't listen to the community which is a shame.
The Sims 2 is the chef's kiss to an era of gaming before studio interference and greed diluted the creative and technical frontier that game development cultivates. It was a time when you not only had to know why you were doing, but have a genuine love and passion for video games as an art form. Maxis Redwood Shores really pushed the envelope as far as they could and the end product we were exposed to is magic in a bottle. To me, TS2 is both a nostalgia trip back to my teens but also a time-piece of an era that video games as an industry will never see again.
The problem with Sims 4 is, the team got little time to complete a PC game at first meant to be released as a mobile game. They couldn't do it all over again because EA is a piece of garbage and wants money asap
i've never played sims 2 (too young lol) but honestly, i can like feel the nostalgia it gives people and it makes me smile; id honestly love to try the game out myself
I was so bummed when I couldn’t watch the stream bc it kept stopping; but thank you for putting it here! I’ve missed TS2 by far my favorite and I wish I could find a way to play myself
As a dedicated TS2 player since the game came out and a huge lover of building and decorating in the game too (my own new little channel is all TS2 builds) I am so happy you discovered the diagonal cheat! 😂🙌 Forever yelling “there’s a cheat code for that!!” at the screen when I’m watching videos where people don’t know that! This was fun to watch, the more people discovering and rediscovering this beautiful game the better 😍
i’m an active sims 2 player. it’s easily my favourite in the series & one i keep going back to time and again. the storylines, gameplay and the small details absolutely make the game for me. it’s got my favourite art style in the series too. there’s so many features of the sims 2 that were severely downgraded in later games - wants & fears and memories are two of the best features of it that were just… never used in their full capacity again and it makes me kinda sad.
I like in Sims 3 how the neighbourhood grew with you and died with you. But the gameplay over all I liked in Sims 2 better, I wish Sims 2 had the evolving neighbourhood as well. Not bothered about open world necessarily, but a way to have all the lots age with yours.
I love how calmly you say the words "noob academy" like it's an ordinary job in real life XD Also these Sims videos are so relaxing and fun to watch/listen to
This is the first time ive been able to play sims 2 on Windows 10 without the graphic issues of blocky untextured water and haygrass terrain. Ty so much!!
Glad I could help you find the resources! Yeah when I first launched the game it had all those graphical glitches, luckily the community has fixed them up.
Idk why they just don’t sell it, but I remember when it went free, it was for a anniversary or something and they said it would only last for like two weeks. Luckily got my copy saved into my origin account. I only got too play the ps2 version back in the day so I’m experiencing the game pretty newly and it’s amazing.
If you have the disk from back in the day, you might have a problem that the game will only allow you to install 1 expansion pack. If that is the problem, here is what you do. 1 Download ALL the patches. 2 Download Grumpyloader. 3. Install the base game. 4. Use Grumpyloader to install the first patch. 5. Install, University, (or the first XP you have). 6 Use Grumpy loader to install the patch. Rinse and repeat for the other expansion packs. If you still get problem about halfway through, (as I did), restart the machine in safe mode and install the rest of the xpansions and patches there, then restart the machine in normal mode. It could be an idea to check it's working a few times while doing this, as it's quite a lot of time to use if it doesn't work. For me this work fine and I can play just nicely. I had to set shadows down to medium, due ot a graphic bug, but otherwise there is no problem. I could even add a lot of CC and it still worked fine. This was in windows 10. The best thing about the sims 2 is all the easter eggs. Like 2 hungry toddler will fight over a bottle, a kid will be embarrassed if he sees his parents making out, if you make a fire and have a toddler, you can not order the sims to put out the fire, as it will ignore the order and instead run inside to save the toddler before trying to extinguish the fire ++ +
even tho my first experience with the sims was ts4 due to my age (im 19), it still feels so cozy and nostalgic to read all of these comments. the sims is one of the biggest loves of my life and i can't help but feel warm inside discussing about the older games. i adore ts3 - can't imagine playing without open world anymore - but i'll for sure try ts2 in the future.
oh damn, i’m 17 and my first experiences with the sims was ts1, 2 & the console games lol. i’d definitely recommend playing the sims 2. sims 3 is fun but meh, i like the gameplay, lore & the aesthetics of 2 way more. it’s got the best storyline in the series and i actually care abt the townies in it. also the packs are generally pretty good too.
Aaaand finished. It was great watching you, you're so calm and chill. I don't have time to play but I desperately want to so I have to live vicariously through simmers for now. Preferences are subjective but I still think sims 2 is the best. And with all the cc and mods out there, it's all super customizable. It's the game I plan to play when I'm chilling in the nursing home lol.
I've been a Sims 2 fan for nearly 20 years . I have all of the franchise, but this is by far my favourite and the only one I play. My game is modded up to the max, and I'm still finding out ways to improve it. Long Live Sims 2!! If EA wasn't so pathetic, they would still be offering this game for free on Origin.
You have to use a few different cheats to put a counter on an angled wall. The "boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation true" and use the < and > to rotate. You also have to use "moveobjects on" so you can get them lined up. I do this all the time to create beautiful kitchens from actual architectural plans. ETA "Boolprop snapobjectstogrid false" ETA those counters (from Uni) are wall dependent. They are not free standing.
i was able to a while back not sure when but i asked ea support if i could claim the sims 2 complete edition and luckily the person i found was in love with sims 2 and added it to my library for me even tho they said "they shouldnt but there such a big sims fan and want people to experience it and have fun with it"
so glad I got recommended this! I didn't think I'd watch the full video but you have a really calm energy yet remain engaging to watch/listen to :) Especially love seeing this game get attention~
Nothing better than watching Zack playing one of my favorite games while im actually painting the front of my house. Im a sim for my higher self haha sul sul
I love that you got promoted and fired on the same day lmao That's the sims for ya. Nice little slap in the face for doing the right thing too "oh? you thought you could just NOT destroy an entire species?!?"
Theres just something bout the sims 2 that feels just right when playing. Seeing sims using the newspaper, buying magazines, having land lines and the interesting fashion of the time just feels weirdly cozy. Like i have more nostalgia with sims 3 because i played it more but sims 2 feels like coming home in a weird way.
Never played Sims 2, only 1 and 3. Never plan on trying 4. Id love to see more of the content for the various skills, fishing and gardening for example. Just to see how it compares to S3.
TS2 had the same base skills as TS1 and never added to them, so they have a separate badge system for new "skills" like gardening, fishing, and different craftables like sewing, pottery, making toys etc. So there are four levels of badges (no badge, bronze, silver and gold) and each level unlocks new abilities.
The Sims 2 was one of the greatest games due to bringing in multiple floors, aging, new life stages, weekday system, and pregnancy (though only adults can be pregnant, I assume this may be due to rating reasons). The console version on PS2, Xbox, and GameCube, however, wasn't received well since it omitted features from the original Windows version with the most infamous complaint being the lack of children. With the exception of The Sims 2 Castaway and the MySims games, The Sims 2 Pets and future Sims console games would get negatively received by Sims fans until The Sims 4 on PS4 and Xbox One. The only thing I don't like about The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories is the Chance Cards due to their tendency to fire the Sim/Pet regardless of performance. Sure, you can ignore them, but it can be annoying having to get a new Job and/or learn new skills. I'm glad The Sims 3 did away with it though The Sims 4 bring it back albeit the penalties are nerfed. The Sims 2 and The Sims 2 Pets on console mercifully removed them. It puzzles me why EA doesn't sell The Sims 2, The Sims, or even The Sims Stories games, but you can purchase SimCity 2000, 3000, and 4. At least The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories don't use SafeDisc and can run on Windows 10 although graphics fixes will need to be done unlike The Sims and SimCity 4 which won't run on Windows 10 due to SafeDisc unless a modified exe file or download version is used.
Haha the part where you said that most people created themselves in the Sims 2 as a child or a teenager was sooo accurate. The first time I played this game, I always made myself a child since I got the game in 2005 when I was only in the first grade of primary school. My sister wanted to be a toddler though even so she's only a year younger than me
I remember either playing the Grunt family since the youngest boy looked like me, or creating my own family but the "me" in my family was a copy of Buck.
Same xD I created myself as a child and my older sister and brother as teens xD And my brother has the typical half long hair haircut that was common for teen boys at that time x'D
like you said, yes, the perfect way to make the best simsgame, buildmode from sims4, world from sims3, gameplay from sims2, and a sims1 nostalgia injection. especially with Paralives coming as a possible competitor
I am enjoying this play through! I get especially tickled when you mention how accurate the sim cats are to our real cats. Yep, sitting in hallways is totally normal. And yes! You can sit on the couch, just get off the counter! XD
Aaand... I missed it! That makes me sad and happy at the same time, because now I have 2+ hours of Zakhenstein rocking the Sims! Also, I noticed Mr. GZ is at 170k subscribers. This is the way!
I'll have to test it out myself (downloading the Sims 2 rn), but you might be able to run your game on the 2k monitor by disabling Gsync for the game (Nvedia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > Monitor Technology > Fixed Refresh) This fixed the Sims 1 for me, and I noticed your scrolling was a little laggy which tells me you probably couldn't make it work on the DDrawCompat Wrapper with the Sims Widescreen Patcher either
I have almost the ultimate collection and I enjoy it SO much. The household I am currently playing is composed by a plant sim, a married couple of Servos and Bigfoot. They live in a beach house and spend a lot of time tending their plant house and fruit garden as an extra income.
The difference between this part and the rest is that the system, interface and mechanism in general were very simple, so it rarely bugged. After Sims 3 and premiers of first expansion packs my computer was getting crazy
I love 2, but I can't say it's better than 3 because of all the cool new skills, open world, all the amazing skilling items and crystals and potions etc. If 2 could get a skilling upgrade, it would probably be the best. The Sims in 2 seem a little more aware of the world around them and react accordingly. Most townies you meet out in the world will greet you and go about their business.. Sims will appear in groups and stay in those groups, without wandering off or being annoying.. pretty neat.
I abandoned sims 2 when 3 came out. My main issues were it loaded slow to go off your lot, and it seemed to mess with time, and needs when you left your lot. With a better pc the load times my be better now, and I got used to sims 3 time jumps when I went on adventures, but I don't remember if it was the same. But I do know I loved driving, or jogging all over town. I do feel 4 is a huge step back in many systems, and I played for a bit before going back the 3. But watching this I way have to give 2 another look...hopefully I'll browse the comments here and find some good arguments for 2 vs 3, or others may respond here with some. :)
Search for the "community time project" if you give TS2 another try. It makes it so if you send a sim to a community lot and return home a few hours later, your sim will be actually be away until the time they are set to return, and you can play the other sims who live there while your sim is gone. I can't play without that mod.
so i spent tons of hours playing the sims. i only started on the sims 2 tho. BUT i had the best time playing it. I remember being so fckin proud of having 1 family of each in strangerville. I had a family of aliens, a family of vampires, a family of zombies, another one of plantsims... i dont remember how i did it back then, cos there was no "add to family" cheat (or at least i had no knowledge of that). i remember that the aliens i got them from the 3 brothers family, that get abducted by aliens, get pregananant and then dropped back on earth. u know what im talkin about?
Sims 2 is the best. Smoothest gameplay. Best overall cohesive play when you play all EPs at the time. And yes, I do still play it currently in addition to playing 4. Never cared for 3. I used to be considered the number one source for information on this game. Violet Jocque (Desiderata Valley) is actually named after me. Small claim to fame :)
Definitely the sims with the best in game radio with songs being simish versions of real songs helped the world feel much more immersive compared to later sims ,still remember this game being the first time I heard Jamrock
They do the same thing in 3 and 4, simlish versions of real songs, I mean sims 3 literally had a pack based on Katy Perry and she was used for marketing in another one (I think it was showtime) so this isn’t a unique thing to sims 2. But I still agree that 2 is more immersive than later games.
I flipped when I heard "We Are Young" On the boom box. I think it was in The Sims 3. That's the only song I can recognize throughout all the games. (Besides The Sims 1, the only game I've never played.)
I really think that the visual style and CAS of sims 4 and mechanics and details of sims 2 would be a perfect. And i even ready to give up on opwn world. I kinda like Sims 4 workaround here.
Type in the cheat "boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation true" (without the ""). And use the , and. Buttons to angle the object. Then you can have 45 degrees.
Many counties/states on the West Coast of the US have thistle, but they are largely wildflowers, not cultivated. They are common to find along roads in coastal and mountain areas of California.
This intro for sims 2 just lit my heart up 😭 i still have some disks for sims 2 but not the box with the code to download it to my computer 😭 i want to play this so bad!!
A very phenomenal game holding itself on its own. I just came back to playing TS2 back in 4/2023 after purchasing a Beelink SER5 5800H mini desktop with 32GB RAM . I added the appropriate mods to make the game work with no issues whatsoever and I was thrown back to 2017 when I last played.
Hey Zack, i agree 100% how they could make the best sims experience (i would even say, one of the best games ever) if they took the best parts of every The Sims game. However, we are talking about EA Games, and they have become much, much worse since the times of the sims 2 and 3. I hope i am wrong, but i honestly can't see them making a good game nowadays.
This is my second time watching this video. I have, personally, opted out of The Sims 3 and The Sims 4. All that money for so little game play! I purchased The Ultimate Sims 2 Collection, digital copy, for about $15 and I've been playing it non-stop. Best Sims game!💯🎯
The Sims 2 and 3 are easily the best ones to play. The newer The Sims games past that is not as good, as it breaks the original formula with new graphics which breaks the original feel of the older games. Alot of improvements which can be seen as downsides also, and that doesn't feel like the older games... that also can feel strange or different. But yeah... my best The Sims games I've played is 1 through 3, and the 2nd and 3rd one is probably the best versions of the game, as far as I see it. There's just so much great gameplay in those specifically. Although the 3rd one had some issues with certain graphics cards, for unknown reasons, I still managed to play the games without too much issues and I had alot of fun with it. There's not much more to say than that they are great in their own respective ways.

@Alexander Lindberg Wait it's available on the Apple App Store? So the mobile version or does it play on MACs with a mouse okay?
Example of DRM game, please?
You are right, it’s very good with the little things. Little animations too, little interactions that later cease to exist.
@@buildinasentry1046 my favorite thing is shy sims and outgoing sims- like recently I saw Nervous Subject flirted with Pascal Curious and since he has NO personality points in the outgoing category, he acted shy and flustered when he flirted and got flirted with.
I MISS SIMS 3 WORLD ADVENTURES !!! Exploring the pyramids ....
In the best possible world, we would have Sims 3's open world with Sims 2 many little details and maybe some of Sims 1 goofiness.
Playing Sims 3 i was actually missing Bon Voyage since that felt like actual vacation/relax focused expansion pack. Fingers crossed we get a mix of both in S5
I absolutely respect people who invest their free time to create mods for a game. Such people are true fans and they deserve more attention.
I mean, they're making art for people to appreciate, a great investment of time indeed
@@さよナランチャ-h6v playing sims 4 rn, have hundreds of mods installed. wouldn’t play without them

@No Name shh let people enjoy things
What I want for The Sims 5:
The Sims 1 music styles
The Sims 2 babies and cars
The Sims 2 details and storytelling
The Sims 2 animations
The Sims 3 open world neighbourhoods
The Sims 3 expansion packs(China from World Adventures and Items from Into the Future expansions are great)
The Sims 3 gameplay mechanics
The Sims 4 multitasking
The Sims 4 create a sims
The Sims 4 house building mechanics
The Sims 4 visuals styles(No over the top cartoonish style)
Make The Sims 5 mainly single player
That's a pretty solid list. We can only hope they do something along those lines.
Nix on the multitasking for me. I'd rather just have my sims sit down to eat than playing musical chairs or going for a jog around the hood with their plate 🙄
@@vanyadolly Haha I can imagine it could be a problem if it gets too multitasky.
100% agree with all of this!
don't forget weather
The Sims 2 is 100% the most nostalgic game for me. Grew up on it.
Me too :/
The fact that they had to buy clothes, food, magazines, games, etc..
@@vanyadolly prob bcuz different developer? and the earlier dev won't let their ideas getting stolen that much or idk.. really unfortunate
sims 4 is really beautiful in the eyes but a lot of loose in the gameplay
@@Ocidad It's the same developer.
Sims 1 is where all psychopath started.
in conclusion... sims 1 is teh bests cAn'T ChAnGe Ma miNd
In TS2 it's the sims that make the game and the world they live in interesting.
sims 4 is good
@@Ocidad good, but not better.
But what is behind "charismatic"?
I hope if that ever happens someone puts a shit ton of effort to mod it or something so that it works.
I am playing mainly Sims 2 the last years, because of the Performance. It looks good and runs smooth on Speed 3.
I like Sims 3 gameplay better, but since i play on Speed 3, 95% of the time. the game "tanks" and will start lagging hard
until it becomes unplayable...I dont have this Problem in Sims 2.
Every now and then I turn on Sims 1, but only for few minutes.
Sims 4 can F- right off.
damn didn't expect the last words 😂
@@Ocidad 😋thihii. I am only really mad at sims 4 because i care. I love the sims. But what they did with sims 4, not good. I even wasted my money on those sims 4 addons...so sad
@@aggrojim6555 i agree too, it is really REALLY sad for the fan/player
it is look beautiful but feels empty compared to sims 3 😔 i really hope there is a graphic mod sims 4 style in sims 3
The Sims 2 has the most satisfying animation among the series. It’s smooth and feels complete.
Yeah i think so too
Oh boy, I played The Sims 2 everyday after school. I really miss those times
Weird but good times.
the 2000s aesthetic. Even the cars, like the PT Cruiser and Audi TT
Sims 2 story/sims gameplay + Sims 3 world/customization/progression + Sims 4 CAS and Build Mode = dream come true.
The Sims 2 gameplay did have some issues (looking at you, Comfort and Environment meters (that were also in the Sims 1, and were a problem there too as far as I heard- I prefer the Sims 3's approach to this), and also the severely limited amount of Aspirations (again, I think the Sims 3 did this better but not for career rewards), but it did have some things going for it that I did not see in later games (the Fears system, especially, and that any sim you make will have some weak/bad traits, resulting in a more realistic sim) Never played the Sims 4, and based on what I heard of it, probably never will
Still have the game for PS2, I remember listening to Paramore's and Ryan Ferguson's songs. Good times.
Thanks for bringing back the nostalgia Zakh.
I never plan to change.
you did such a great job recreating yourself! love this game sm!
Thank you! I probably need to spend a couple hours to get it just right.

this video is indeed very good
The n'hoods are large because you can have 100 lots per neighborhood.
University expansion was my favourite, though I hated the fact that your love interest didn't turn into an adult when your sim left the uni :)
If you ask your love interest to move in with you, it will make them grow up into an adult :D
Sims 5 should be Sims 2.5
Especially considering the Sims 4 was more like 2 than 3, with the lack of an open world
TS2 is my favourite sims game ever, I still play it in 2022, the gameplay is just great for me, the music of the game, the graphics...
I was too lazy to buy a new computer so I just emulated windows 7 on VMWare thinking I was big brain 🧠
Turns out I still needed to do multiple graphics fixes 😂🤣
My favorite thing about the sims 2, the amount of lots/land you have to build on. You can also choose the dimensions of the lot (if there’s enough space). Sims 4 barely had any lots available to build on. Sims 2 you could really create your own community down to the tiniest detail. I still love sims 4!!
Sims 1 : Ambiance
Sims 2 : Gameplay, Wants and fears
Sims 3 : Open world & Personalization
Sims 4 : CAS, Life Simulation (Emotions & Multitasking)
Honestly, I don’t agree that sims 4 done emotions well. I believe they are done so plainly and they feel emotionless
The sims 4 completely butchered the sims’ personalities and emotions. They all feel the same.
@@Fricclolo The emotions in the Sims 4 are comparable to those jester masks with exaggerated facial expressions.
That's the dream, maybe someday we'll get a game like that.
Yep and it looks like it'll be called Paralives 😂
The Sims 2 is the chef's kiss to an era of gaming before studio interference and greed diluted the creative and technical frontier that game development cultivates. It was a time when you not only had to know why you were doing, but have a genuine love and passion for video games as an art form. Maxis Redwood Shores really pushed the envelope as far as they could and the end product we were exposed to is magic in a bottle. To me, TS2 is both a nostalgia trip back to my teens but also a time-piece of an era that video games as an industry will never see again.
The Sims 3 is the best one, but it's very laggy on even a NASA pc
Unfortunately. Sims 4 is an abomination
Sims 3 seamless world was revolutionary, i was so surprised to see Sims 4 go back to individual plots.
@@rennaaa6667 Sims 4 has always been a worse Sims 2, Sims 3 at least evolved the series, Sims 4 is just an EA cash cow now
The problem with Sims 4 is, the team got little time to complete a PC game at first meant to be released as a mobile game. They couldn't do it all over again because EA is a piece of garbage and wants money asap

I never got to play this Sims 2, but I finished the Sims 2 PSP version, and it was a real treat! A different perspective in the Sims universe.
Adding a tiny bit of the "start-up theme" was a nice touch, thank you for your hard work Zakh!
I like in Sims 3 how the neighbourhood grew with you and died with you. But the gameplay over all I liked in Sims 2 better, I wish Sims 2 had the evolving neighbourhood as well. Not bothered about open world necessarily, but a way to have all the lots age with yours.
Try LazyDuchess's Story Progression mod for the Sims 2! It's a mod that ports the growing with your town feature from Sims 3 to Sims 2!
@@blanchettorianna6639 Oh cool, I'll have a look at that.
I love how calmly you say the words "noob academy" like it's an ordinary job in real life XD Also these Sims videos are so relaxing and fun to watch/listen to
If we could get Create-a-Style and some of the expansion pack worlds/concepts from TS3 imported into TS2 it would be the ultimate Sims game.
I only got too play the ps2 version back in the day so I’m experiencing the game pretty newly and it’s amazing.
probally burocracy licence stuff.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I do the same with Souls games, I can't spend that much time playing it so I watch it instead.
ETA "Boolprop snapobjectstogrid false"
ETA those counters (from Uni) are wall dependent.

That's the sims for ya.
@@vanyadolly Ah, interesting, thank you.
Ah, The Sims 2, I still play it to this day. My answer to that title; You're right on that.
I LOVED playing Sims 2 Pets on my PS2! And Bustin out was fun too! Beat the story line on that one
This release came perfectly as I just finished viewing the Sims 1 in 2022 video :)
Ah great timing haha
Ah.. I still have CDs for it and all the expansions 😍 This gives so much nostalgic feelings
Yeah we just hit that milestone! Thanks!
Sims 2 is so lively. I’ve been playing it again lately and wow I forgot just how great it is.
"lets puff that face up" made me laugh out loud xD Fun playthrough!
By the way! the music was created by mark mothersbaugh! AKA Devo's lead singer/songwriter!
I love how you bring back old classic.
That music tho… nostalgia 🥺
It was like 15 years since I heard Sims 2 music and when I heard it again it hits like a brick.
The SIms 2 was my first foray into modding games. I used to extract and edit skin textures and make all kinds of wacky alien Sims
Just re downloaded sims 1 & 2 complete collections. Downloading all the custom content I can!
@@plastichouseplant I'll have to check that one out. Thanks! :)

I think you should do a Sims 2 series!!
so i spent tons of hours playing the sims. i only started on the sims 2 tho.
You just might became my new favourite let's player for this!
Yes The SIms 2 complete is the best Sims experience, the most complete ever.
*listen to sim brag*
You jamming to the music was very enjoyable to watch xD also looks like me when I'm playing Sims 2.
Sometimes the music hits just right in The Sims.
The introduction resonated deep within my nostalgic teen years
Many counties/states on the West Coast of the US have thistle, but they are largely wildflowers, not cultivated. They are common to find along roads in coastal and mountain areas of California.
I had no idea they grew in California, makes sense why the devs made them a weed though.
Very relaxing and fun to watch after work, cheers ^_^
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I’m straight back to playing the sims 2 lmao. Thank you for playing the sims 2 lol.
Honestly, I recently got back to TS2 and not once I got bored!
The gameplay is really complete and fun comparing to TS4 (never played TS3)
This intro for sims 2 just lit my heart up 😭 i still have some disks for sims 2 but not the box with the code to download it to my computer 😭 i want to play this so bad!!
A very phenomenal game holding itself on its own. I just came back to playing TS2 back in 4/2023 after purchasing a Beelink SER5 5800H mini desktop with 32GB RAM . I added the appropriate mods to make the game work with no issues whatsoever and I was thrown back to 2017 when I last played.
I almost cried when the music played at 1:43:43, Sims 2 on Ps2 was my second Sims game that I played and that soundtrack caught me off guard.
The sims 1 soundtrack is the most memorable and maybe the best sountrack of all the sims....
This is just so nostalgic! I used to play whole days on my school vacations at the time. It was so amazing 😍
