Love NZ , visited the entire North and South islands back in 2003 in my backpacking days! Love it there and want to take the wife for her first trip there soon... my excuse to pack the 5wt flyrod 😆😆😆
@@NSFA So you have been to New Zealand, that is awesome, we have a few friends live in your part of the world,, we Trout fish and hunt both, the North and South Islands, i am sure you enjoy our Trout fishing video. Thanks and regards,, Tony.
Nice video william Once I wanted to visit your country and fish water. The best greetings from Denmark Europe and Tight Lines to you. Greeting Bjarne Jakobsen.
@@NSFA You are so welcome if you want company so write to me, then I would like to guied you as well I can. I have made some amateur video from a bit of my fishing here in Denmark on my TH-cam Channel. As you can see, they are not as good as your video :-)
The water temp mid June is in the low 50°F's. Mending upstream sometimes is just a habit of mine 🤙as with Spey I'm usually casting over various current speeds to get into the slack water on the other side of the river. Some of the pools on this river like this one is a bit too narrow for spey. Trust me I've also got a lot to learn about Spey fishing too 😁
Hey! Tks for watching 😁 all the gear I used is listed in the details of the video... Basically 7wt and up will do here... leader depends on ur setup. Intermediate hover and sink are all good. No weights allowed on this river so sink leaders are a must if u want to sink a fly. Bombers, shady lady's, green machines, blue charms, muddler minnow's and blue or red marabou 's are the primary flies of choice for these waters. Please suscribe and stay tuned for new content often 😁
Oh wow! Ur absolutely right!! Hardy Marquis Salmon #2 (Great reel! I love click pawl reels... so much more excitement when I get a fish stripping line away and u hear the pawls givin'er hell! 🤣) Thanks for replying and your interest mate! I hope u enjoy the videos coming this yr too!
Good doggo!

Great information on fly fishing the Margaree River pools. Could you provide some detail on flies and gear: rod weight and heads and leader.
