The look in your eyes shortly after the release gave a whole new insight into your life as a flyfisherman... Congratulations as hell Robert! Så galet snyggt ju!
Great fish! The highlight is watching it swim away b/c you released it and the fish gets to fight another day.. Well done! Tight lines. All the way from NL.
Congratulations Robert. In New Zealand we have a saying “if you put in the mahi (work), you get the treats”. Stunning fish and you well and truly earned it!
More than anything, I'm just impressed that you were able to keep narrating in English while going through what must have been total blind panic 😂. What a fish, well done!
My first time on a well known Salmon river in Scotland when the owner of the tackle shop told us we had no chance and too go home I waded out and hooked my first Salmon that was too big for our trout nets I was taking advice from my mate who's Dad owned a beat on a river and once we landed it he informs me he had never had one on the fly. That memory will stay with me for ever. I have had a Springer over 20lbs on a rapala and another on the fly but the 1st one is the one that is the special one. Congratulations.
A truly magical fish you landed. Amazingly, I landed a 32lbs Atlantic Salmon on the same day you caught your fish. Caught mine on the Grand Cascapedia in Quebec. It was the largest salmon I have ever caught. It was an indescribable thrill and experience. Very happy for you and your journey to fishing Zen.
Congratulations! What a beauty! And what a fight! 🎣 After hooking a big salmon earlier this year myself, The fish got off the fly, what immense power! I got ”bit” and now I will be fishing for salmon this summer in various rivers. 😄
What a magnificent fish, the game is to catch which motivates anglers across the globe. But there is no finer feeling than holding that fish in the water after the battle to land it, feeling it’s heart pumping and helping it recover. The anticipation of it feeling recovered and swimming away from your hold, is as good as the take. An emotionally draining event, nature at its finest. Great stuff Robert.
Guess this one created quite an amount of goose bumps in front of the screens. At least in front of mine. Thanks for sharing and congrats to this wonderful fish!🎣
Congratulations Robert! I guess you’ve just got “bit” by the salmon virus 🦠 Now there’s no turning back. My first salmon was a angry 8.5 kg male. A 15 kg fish must have been an lifetime experience. Congrats again buddy! Awesome 👏
Very cold water and no current at all, fish is using less than half of the power it CAN provide when the water temp is higher etc. Very VERY slack fish for that size.
Congrats Robert from Canada! I have been trying for 3 years to land a summer salmon, hooked a few but never landed any yet- when those big head shake start i always get nervous. I hope this year is the year for me! Would like to see more salmon fishing from you on the double handed rod!

Great video, I caught my first salmon last Saturday on my local small river. It was 8 and a half lbs, my 7w single hander was just barely enough.

Brown tube fly. Similar to phatagorva
quite a bit smaller than a giant but a pretty deacent fish....
What mono are you using?
Good work: One minute per kilo ;-)
Haha thanks. That’s a fun way of thinking. 4 kg mean brown trout in 4 minutes? How is that for a challenge? 😉
