The people have seen what the real world is like, but because their fellow people originally from the cave have never seen the real world, they cannot comprehend what they’re talking about and think they must be crazy. Plato is comparing this to philosopher’s like himself who have seen the ‘true philosophic world’ which he described earlier in the republic. He uses this as an explanation for why people struggle to understand philosophers, because they have not seen this ‘true’ world which can only be reached through reasoning and logic. He also has a big part of their enlightenment of the real world being that they finally understand the extent of their existence beyond just a shadow they see, equating that to a philosopher understanding themself and being wise because of it.

At first many people will see you as an idiot, but with time, as this video progresses. and only if they stick with it, will they see that you are not a fool, but very much adorable and that what you are doing is correct. We can only hope!
Not loving the advocatation of circumcision around the 11 minute mark. FYI, restoration of the foreskin is the most requested penile surgery to date. It's impossible.
All I can say is The Lord Jesus is the light. This allegory.shows , what it's like to gain the whole world and lose your soul. Historically I choose. Chirst Jesus as my savior in life, because tomorrow is never promised.
