- I want to underline that prayer is not what makes you Christian. What is? What God has done for you, not what you do for God. You can never pray hard enough to please God. Instead, God is pleased with your prayer because he’s already adopted you. You want to grow in your faith? Go to the means of grace: The Gospel in Word and Sacrament!
