I found The Way of Shadows by pure chance at a Goodwill when I was 13, and since then Night Angel Trilogy/ The Lightbringer Series have become some of my favorite fantasy novels, I still quote them to this day and re-read them quiet often. I hope Brent decides to continue with the Kylar Chronicles and one day returns to Lightbringer and Kip. Such fantastic storytelling and relatable characters in an otherwise un-relatable world. The contrast of the beauty in worlds that can otherwise be very ugly is just captivating.
Night angel nemesis is the first book I bought after making it my goal to start reading again. This interview makes me so excited to read more and specifically read his previous books! ❤
I'm surprised to read so many negative comments about Nemesis and would like to offer a different opinion for anyone who hasn't read the book yet. As a big fan of the original trilogy I was very excited for this book to be released, but when I finally got it I didn't even dare to touch it for two days because I was afraid it wouldn't live up to my expectations. ...but when I did read it, I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed it! I found it really hard to even put it down at all, which led to me staying up until 4 a.m. twice. Sure, the first person narration takes a moment of getting used to, but I think it makes sense for the story because it's absolutely essential what information is revealed to Kylar at what moment and this way the readers have to try to figure out the lies and mysteries with him. The ending is pretty dark but I think it was a brave choice. Personally I would have even wished for Brent to commit even more to it than he did (but I can't say more without getting into spoilers).
I've loved every Night Angel, Lightbringer and (now) The Kylar Chronicles books. I've never been so consistently captivated reading every single of an author's works before. Brent Weeks the GOAT. Have read Night Angel Trilogy twice simply cuz I found myself wanting to read something Brent Weeks again. A while after Night Angel Nemesis now, I find myself in the same place. Gonna re-read the Lightbringer series.
If you loved the first trilogy, you're probably going to find a lot to love in Nemesis too. It's a very different sort of book, but is such a cool continuation of Kylar's story. I finished it a few days ago and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. Happy reading!
@@WiCnet Different is right and that's not a compliment! I hope you like lots of artifacts going missing with no explanations, Durzo yeeted from existance and lots womansplaining to Kylar. We obviously needed less events like the establishment of the Order of the Garter and instead should have more comedy skits between Vi and Ariel.
DON'T! It's not the same author. I was looking forward to it but it's written SO BADLY it's not even funny. It's unforgivable to write these characters this badly.
In my eyes, Brent Weeks can do no wrong with this series….I might be simping but as an avid reader of both fantastical and many other genres, I still have not been captivated by any other series besides the Night Angel Trilogy. Amazingly as well are the dramatized adaptions on Graphic Audio through Audible…..I need Night Angel Nemesis to be have a dramatized version with the same cast from the Night Angel Trilogy 😂😂🎉🎉
I loved the night angel trilogy and I was so excited to see kylers story continue! THIS NEW BOOK IS NOT WRITTEN BY THE SAME AUTHOR AS THE NIGHT ANGEL OR THE LIGHTBRINGER BOOKS! I'm sorry but this last book is unreadable for any fan of any previous works. There is no way that any author could become this bad because of anything that is happening in their lives. NO! I waited for this last book and reread the last trilogy and ten pages in I was like "what the fuck is going on? " . I pushed through and could only make it to %20 through the book and I couldn't keep going. I've read better books by amateur authors on reddit get destroyed for better work.

What great, insightful questions that led to thoughtful, informed answers! Thanks for the lovely interview.
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the interview -- and hope you enjoy Night Angel Nemesis as well!
Mr Weeks, you hooked me for life. I love how you make me laugh and tear up with your books. I read them all and will wait for them to continue.

Night Angel Trilogy was my first series when I got into reading
Edit:

Will there be more books??
Deadpool, wolverine powers and mocking would not only represent Kylar, but also damp his spirit.

I whole heartedly disagree. The original trilogy are my favorite books of all time and am reading through the new one now and love it.
So now that yall have read it, do you find it beyond disappointing like the rest of the actual fans of the originals?
