  • Our story mirrors the universal human experience - the challenges, unforeseen obstacles, and, most importantly, resilience.
Our journey starts with Piper, a beautiful girl born with a unique vision challenge. At four days old, we confronted Piper's bilateral collarbone issue, not only affecting her eyes but propelling us into a world of uncertainty and medical complexities.
In our search for answers, we stumbled upon murmurs about a special place called Little Light House. More than a conventional school, it's a refuge for families facing diverse challenges. We joined the waiting list in February 2019, and were 274 waiting for services.
Our path through evaluations, therapies, and virtual consultations with organizations like Sooner Start was marked by unwavering support from our family. In the Summer of 2022, the anticipated call from Little Light House arrived.
Balancing Piper's developmental needs with the demands of our daily lives, the heartbeat of our story lies in the steadfast support system that envelops us. Grandma Tammy's presence and Shauna's resilient spirit have been our secret weapons in this collective journey.
Once envisioned to have limited capabilities, Piper has become a testament to the boundless potential within us all. Regular visits to the ophthalmologist reveal a journey from uncertainty to optimism.
Little Light House isn't just an educational institution; it's home to many individuals facing adversity. It's provided a nurturing environment for Piper and has emerged as a rallying point for our entire family.
In the pages of our story, the chapter on Little Light House may be brief, but its impact is immeasurable. Piper, though trailing in some aspects of her development, is a testament to the transformative power of this haven. Our gratitude knows no bounds, and we eagerly anticipate the next chapters of Piper's journey.
Every kid deserves a chance to be a kid. Little Light House provides tuition-free, Christian education and therapeutic services for children with special needs and their families.
