Hi Eric! Great video and you’ve given me hope. I have the Zwift Ride (ZR) bundle. I’ve tried this technique but when I try to connect my ZR using the network connection it doesn’t appear. My setup is an Apple TV connected via WiFi down in my garage. Unsure if that matters. Any advice? Thanks!
@ I have done EXTENSIVE research on this and there are things in these videos they are leaving out (important details). I.e. You can ONLY use the direct connection IF you have a trainer that supports it (and the Kickr Core does not). You can ONLY use a dongle IF you have a trainer with an Ethernet port to plug it into (kickr core does not). When you purchase the Zwift Ride it comes standard with the Kicr Core trainer without the option to upgrade to one of the other Kickr trainers. Now I have to use my phone to connect my controllers, trainer, & hrm. I even tried to connect the hrm and trainer first then connect the controllers via the game controller option in the Apple TV but that didn’t even work. Without the controllers connected, you can’t shift gears. Frustrating but it’s limitations of the ZR platform
Sorry but my wahoo kikr core can on 1 bluetooth channel record power/resistance/cadence. Then on the 2 channel the heart rate...so the problem would only be with control zwift ride?
@@markantonywaring3014correct. And the wahoo Director connect will NOT work because it’s only compatible with two Kickr trainers (not the Core). And the other thing that’s not mentioned is the Apple TV has to be hard wired in (network cable) or that specific connection will not show when you try to connect. And if you have the Zwift Ride like me and do not connect your controllers, then you aren’t able to shift. Hope this helps.
Thanks! My Zwift Ride Smart Frame and Kickr Core Zwift One have arrived, so I’ll be setting them up when my Apple TV 4K & Vizio 43” 4K TV arrive today. Rockr Pro rocker plate arrival TBD. Being new to indoor cycling (
@@ZwiftInsider I finished setting up my pain cave yesterday, and I was successful in connecting my Apple Watch 7 via the Zwift Companion App on that device. I took a photo of the screen and tried to post a link to it here last night but apparently that resulted in that comment being rejected/auto-deleted(?). However, I’m in central Florida, so at that point I had to go do some hurricane prep and never made it back to ride yesterday. So, for now, I can only confirm that my Apple Watch 7 running WatchOS 11, paired to my iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 18, successfully shows my heart rate (bpm) on the Paired Devices screen in Zwift 1.74 on my AppleTV 4K (3rd Gen) running tvOS 18. Whether this will work during a ride is still TBD. Maybe today, or not until Hurricane Helene passes.
I have the same swift ride bundle, but been using an ipadpro. Want to try apple tv for bigger screen, but the connectivity limitation kept me from buying it
@ Don’t let that stop you because you can simply get all the connections you need via the Zwift companion app. However, I recently switched from using the ATV to using my MacBook Air M2 and sending it to the TV via AirPlay. The graphics are SO MUCH BETTER!!!
Nice!! I’m going to get The Ride by end of year and just waiting for the new Apple TV to come out, if it ever does. Good to know and thanks Eric!!

I have the same issue. My ATV hardwire is connected to my TV… I only show the one option for the Bluetooth connection to the KICKR.

Yes, I have the same problem mentioned here.
Cadence/Power = 1 BT channel
Zwift Controls = 1 BT channel
Then Apple TV won’t let me connect my HRM.

I don't have an Apple Watch, so I can't confirm how or if it works with Zwift currently. I hear conflicting stories!
@@ZwiftInsider Thx. I'll let you know if it works for me. 🤞

Sadly doesn't work with Zwift play controllers. The left and right controller count for one Bluetooth connection each
Weird.... my zwift play show as indidual BT devices
Zwift Ride play controllers aren't the same as the standalone Zwift Play controllers.
@ZwiftInsider well.... my HR and both controllers worked with my Apple TV and my Kickr Move (connected over WiFi)
my kickr v1 connect once every 8th time
No Apple Watch :(
