Professional home remodeler here, that old paint dust is nasty stuff. I would recommend, where possible, to place a fan so the dust is blown away from you as you work. Projects this size can be stressful, so please take a day or two away and just focus on enjoying time together without thinking about the house. I admire your work ethic!
Also you need a N 95 mask that filters out small particles or a professional respirator if you are going to do a lot more grinding/sanding. The surgical masks only offer others limited protection from your germs. They don't really protect your lungs from particles, as you saw with all the blue dust around ur nose. 🥴 stay safe u 2. I enjoy your videos, from 🇺🇸. 😊
Not a professional but wouldn't a heat gun 🔫 and a putty knife work better than an angle grinder? 😅
Buy the lead test swabs, they are cheap. And don't mess with the asbestos roofing, it is worst. And don't burn coal to heat the house, at least don't breath the fumes. I don't want to tell you what to do, I just care about you all and enjoy the videos.
@@danielwagner3038 I second that. And use a professional mask with filter. For the rest just admiration to start a project like this.
Great work, but be carefull , asbestos is a killer .
Home remodeling is hard work and will make you tired but when you get done, you will feel good with the result.
Most old paint contains lead. Very harmful to breath. Please get proper mask. Luba is correct! There is also a wire disk to remove paint in hard to get places that will fit on your drill. You are doing good work on that door.
YES! Lead never leaves the body. Makes for all kinds of problems including brain damage.
wow so dangerous even after onyl one use ?@@terryatpi
You two are making great progress in fixing up this once vacant property. Your hard work will pay off in the end. Your plan to get rid of all the trash in the yard ( old bottles, etc) will make a huge difference. Clearing the out buildings of the trash will make the property more desirable also. Hope that you get get all the exterior wood trim and doors painted before
winter comes. 👍👍👍🙏🏻🙏🏻❤
You are such a great couple, a wonderful team. Everything is going to be so nice. You’re restoring a historical home, with the added joy of making it your beautiful family home. Love and prayers 🇺🇦❤️🙏🇺🇸
Such good work you both do. Wow. TY Pavlo and Luba for showing English words in your language of Ukraine. I am learning 😊💙💛. I love moloko. 👍 Chicago Rusty
In Ukrainian "I love milk" is "Я люблю молоко" pronounced"YA lyublyu moloko."
TY so much. I appreciate that.😊@@tiberiusvindex804
Angle grinders were imported from Bulgaria to the USSR, therefore in ex-soviet countries they call them "bolgarka" literally meaning Bulgarian woman.
by the way what Russians invented ? Russian history /after 24. 2 . 2022 we are absolutely sure about that/ = slaughterhouse history. Russians invented only mas killings, mass murders, rape ...... desolation, depresion and havoc
Ohhhh. Thanks. Was just gonna ask why he calls an angle grinder, a Bulgarian.
Great teamwork guys!! Luba, you did a wonderful job on those gates they are looking very smooth and clean and Pavlo, those doors are looking very nice. Your guys hard work is really paying off! I can't wait to see when it's finished!
I know how much hard work goes into scraping old paint, especially with all the different types of trim and the details. And there's a lot of it. You two are hard workers. Looks great! ✌️ 🇺🇦
Many years ago painters used to use a burner to burn off built up paint and then use a paint scraper to remove the softened and burnt paint 🙂
Yes, try a heat gun.
Agree; a heat gun is the answer however be careful with fumes as the paint is probably lead based
It's not a matter of doing anything wrong Pavlo, just please be safe when inhaling fumes and dust. No telling what they used back then! Glad you are wearing some protection! But Luba is right, you need a specific paint dust respirator.
yes as most old paint was lead based
And you DO NOT want lead poisoning!
I agree. When I saw all the dust on screen I almost started coughing myself!
I wanted to write the same, but you were faster :) Please get a respirator!
yeah even today so many dangerous chemicals are used
That was really hard job bro ..but surely it’ll pay off .. I admire your teamwork .. 👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰
To clean paint from those mouldings and tight corners use a Nylon Filament Wheel Brush in a rotary power drill.
Good to see the renovations coming on. You both have done a very good job...Love from the UK.
Thank you Pavlo and Luba for sharing your lives with us,it’s always a joy to see your videos 😊❤
You guys are doing a nice job on your homestead. Keep up the great work. Thanks for another video.
Lots of hard, dirty work. Can't wait to watch you two painting and finishing these projects, that's the fun part, when you get to enjoy the result of all your efforts. Thanks for sharing.
I think one of the first things you learn when starting any project is that there is no such thing as a 5 minute job. PERIOD. The second thing you learn is that there is always someone else who has done such a job before. There are now TH-cam videos showing how to do most anything, explaining everything you need to know, including which tools to buy/use and which technique to follow. So, we no longer have to learn on our own or make as many mistakes, just have patience.
Man
and help the war effort with some of the You Tube royalties....???

Fantastic work, Pavlo and Luba! New life for the old doors and window frames. Getting the lawn cut also makes a great difference. I also enjoy learning some Ukrainian words here and there! 💛💙
You two, both of you doing a great job. It almost looks like a new door
I absolutely love your videos. House is coming along great. So excited to see final result. Great job you guys!
Yay. ..glad you guys have a place to go. I know you could go to your parents but nice to have your privacy. I think about your safety in the city often. 🙏 from Canada
Unfortunately they will have to be painted to protect the wood from weather
Give that man a pint. He’s earned it
And some fresh paint too!😇
Oooo... I like the mix of the natural wood with the blue weathered in for the doors. Casings around all the windows so ornate... very charming.
Well done. It looks great. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing with us.
Pavli and Luba picked a cool funky song to go with the hard work they showed us to get that paint off. Nice👍
Be well and stay safe.
I am enjoying these visits with you as you work. Just some peaceful time with pleasant people, enjoying the good day doing a little work to make things a little better. 😊 You two do my heart good.
You're doing great. A lot of work..
The place looks so much better and happier..!
It's really a beautiful house and garden..
It will be fabulous when restored - just the clearing and painting makes a huge difference!
Pavlo, you did an excellent job on the door. Great work my friend.
That's awesome. It makes me smile that you're keeping the house. Seems right.
Well done. You’ve both been done such a great job. Now you can enjoy the house and grounds
Bravo 👏👏👏👏. The door looks 👀 great. Very nice job. Metal gates are at least 80% better. Fantastic work all around. Such energy you two have!! Love these renovation videos, a labor of love with vast improvements. Thank you. Peace, John
The wood is still in excellent condition considering the age and lack of painting. In this country we use "primer" paint on bare wood before applying 2 coats of coloured paint for a professional finish. Lots of hard work. Another great job you two. Best wishes from the UK.
Hard work today. So glad to see you using some serious tools. Buy the best you can find. In the long run it is worth it. Start with a proper respirator and some hearing protection. Keep up the good work.
Such good work you both do. Well done on the renovations.
Starting to come right along! You two are doing a great job!
Another great vid! Be safe!
I am so proud of you two for restoring this home. It will be beautiful when y’all get it finished. ❤️🙏🙏🌟🌟👍👍❤️
That house is really coming along great, congrats!

Its always great to see what you are up to Pavlo
Wow! You guy's are working so hard! It will all be worth it when it's done. Stay safe you two beauts!! ❤
Excellent progress. I really enjoy seeing the Ukrainian words translated. Great idea!
Great job! You two are hardworking and resilient. The end result will be very gratifying I'm sure!
It is coming real well. Great work both of you.
You both have done a wonderful job so far. You should be proud of yourselves.
Great progress!!
Great job you two, your house is going to be charming! Love the wood window details!
Nice work Luba and Pavlo!
a cool looking option for those doors, scrape most of the paint off of the corner details leaving just a little here and there and put clear boat varnish over the whole door, it looks rustic and country cottage looking, while preserving and sealing the wood against weather, then you can paint it if you want a newer looking door later 2-3 coats of varnish will do the trick, even on the top and bottom
I love watching you films about restoring your family house! ❤❤❤❤ you too are so hard working ❤❤❤❤
That's a lot of work, wow. Hope you two have the best of times there.
Looking great! take care!
Great job!
Excellent, thanks.
Such a neat old house, I love the old paint colors!
Great Job guys!!!!😇

You are doing great, awesome job guys 😎😎😎
Luba looks happy 😊 great job 👏
Well done my friends!!!! Hard work pays off.
Luba is hard worker , beautiful, intelligent and very supportive. I think
here in the states we pay to have our stuff look old like that and you sand it to make it new LOL Great job!
Nice job to you both.
Looking great! It's tough work, but worth it. I agree with other people's comments about wearing a more protective face covering. Stay healthy and safe! 😊
You guys are doing a great job Pavlo, take a break and enjoy!
Beautiful couple. Great video.
Super hard work, great 👍
Pavlo and Luna
Great job on the house! Milk from Grandma is a bonus!!
Love the music in this video.
Regards
Jennifer and Duncan from Canada
You two did awesome job don’t worry about what people think sending good vibes your way ❤
Very nicely you will be done this job
I prefer the natural timber, keep cleaning the old paint off, then use stain then varnish or (clear coat)
Pavlo & Luba, great work on your house. Just remember to take time off for yourselves, you dont want to burn out. If you decide to use the wire wheel definitely be sure to wear eye protection. Sometimes little bits of metal will fly off and you dont want that to hit your eyes. God bless you both with good health always. 😊
I love it! What a cute house. Thank you.
I know Luba is always correct, but I loved all the old paint. Tells the history of the door.
GREAT JOB, Great Film Angles & Editing & Music! Both of you are Wonderful, Love Both your channels!! PLEASE wear proper respirators, googles, gloves etc… Lots of hazardous dust and chemicals with All renovations. ❤️From Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦
The tops of those gates are gorgeous. I would keep that just the way it is over your door paint it s different color. That chippy look is really in in America, Maybe chip some of the new paint off when you paint it so you have a little of that blue come through underneath. That would look so gorgeous. You have really good bones for that house. What I mean by that is what you have there is wonderful just work at it to bring it back. Love watching you guys restore this house.
Luba is correct! Those wire brushes do not do much. That machine Pavlo has also has a sanding disks that will work much better than that brush. That wire brush is good for washing your good paint brushes... It keeps them clean and the bristles straight. Peace. We love you guys and I pray for Ukraine and for peace.
Keep the videos coming, the 'ol place is really coming around.
Wonderful English. I enjoyed watching.
Luba and Pavlo, you both are doing great job for restoring abandoned house, I appreciate you both since doing all job happily although it seems boring jobs, specifically for those who are not habitual to do in practice. Watching from Lucknow, India.
You are correct to protect yourself, after that you will learn how to do this work , safety first! Looking good !

Alot of hard work
taking shape nicely
🙂 Awesome Job, Great Video. You Two are great
Thank you so much 😁
I’ve got to do the same thing to our front door in Florida… too dam hot to work … thanks for the demonstration.. . Will do the same process you showed…Adding the motivational music as well
I’ve been doing some of my own home improvements and it’s also my first time doing many of the tasks. Fun to see someone in the same situation. My biggest difficulty is trying to do it with small children around. Very stressful for me.
Pavlo and Luba... Well done.
That is such a cool house. It will be awesome when you finish with it.
