- 3 weeks ago we left this baby European nightcrawler worm bin uncovered in hopes to reduce the growing mushrooms. Also, we take a look at the springtail situation as well. Some of the baby euros are of a size where they are not considered babies anymore and are transferred over to the adult worm bin.

Great time lapses of the springtails!!! I’ve seen springtails in the earlier part of my bins life cycle but not later…or maybe I didn’t notice them. I love that you gave your worms a bath😂 I actually had to do that in one of my early bins that crashed but it still is funny to hear out loud!!! Only fellow worm farmers or viewers would understand!!🪱🪱🪱
The worms need a spa day every once in awhile 🤣 thank you you much for watching 👀
A lovely dance of the springtails. 🧚🧚♀️🧚♂️
I am glad to see the mushroom problem is solved.
Me too. I will have to use the approaching in my adult enc bin as well. It too is having mushrooms growing.
The worms are getting big. Nice to see leaving the cover off help with the mushrooms 🍄🪱😁
Dee nice to c the babies grow.
Definitely, despite all the mushrooms and springtails, they are still thriving.
Nice job, Dee. You need to create a sign...The Red Wigglers Door 🚪 Spa Day! 🤣 Cucumber slices for their puffy eyes 💕🪱💕
And then they can consume those cucumbers for free castings 🤣

Cameraman: _Excuse me Miss Dee - I think you just accidentally dropped a worm... I saw it go down the drain_
Dee: *_Cut!_*
Cameraman: _But Miss Dee...._
Dee: _No worries... we'll just clip that part in post-production_
:)
Just kidding - I know that no worms were harmed in the making of this video
Don't you just love it when we as the viewers see things that the original posters don't. As she was flipping through saying "oh where'd that big one go" I'm like there! it is right there! There look right there I see three big ones! I was shouting out as if watching a live game lol.
I watch my own videos back and I see so many things that I missed or wanted to point out but didn't see during initial filming or editing. The lenz is far more errorproof than we are as humans. Heck, since I'm legally blind I actually surprised myself with some of the things I do see sometimes.
Glad your came out ok. I reset 6 of my 10 bins because mushrooms were so bad. I noticed it consumes all the castings and the worms just are not happy in their environment.
How did you reset them?
I did light separation and put them in peat moss this time.
@@that1guydoesthings aaa I see, thank you for sharing 😊
I used to watch an older YT channel that no longer uploads videos, and the lady would add food grade DE powder and neem cake to her bins to get rid of unwanted critters. When I see large population of mites or gnats I sprinkle super light amounts of DE and neem cake and that usually helps. DE might solve the springtail situation.
Thank you so much ! I'll wait it out a bit, but if it continues to get out of hand, I'll have to pick up some DE.
I’m ready for another Cottage Cheese update!
Oh Heather, you don't need an update. Just wait for a good strong wind coming in your direction and open your window and sniff, you will smell it. Lmao rofl 😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣 too funny 😁
Heather, that's coming up soon 😉 it will be the next update.
@@deewormsvermicomposting I'm going to guess the microbes have eaten the majority of it by now, but I think the castings around where it was will still have an odor for some time. Doesn't matter, the garden doesn't care how the castings smell. And will still work just as well
@@deewormsvermicomposting 😏☺️😇
I don’t know if you could hear me saying…get the one right, get the one on the right, lol.
I definitely heard you 🤣
I need spring tails and mushrooms, can you send me some ❤️🥰👍😊
I would be happy too! In fact, you can have them all 😊 how have you been? How are you feeling?
@@deewormsvermicomposting both mushrooms and spring tails are an indicator of extremely healthy bin contents. You seem to have an awful lot of them and it's weird as well as my bins do, I never see springtails unless I find them outside in the summer. I'm feeling about the same, thank you for asking. I don't think I've gotten better but fortunately I also haven't gotten any worse. How are you doing? Mom is still okay?
@@connecticutwormsgardens we all are blessed and everyone is feeling good now. Back to reality. Cooking, cleaning, driving the kids around. Slowly getting back into taking care of the worms. It's hard though with everything going on. I've been wanting to take down the Christmas decorations, but that has been thrown on the back burner. Hopefully by this weekend I'll have that done.
@@deewormsvermicomposting Well my kids are grown so I'm past that point, but I sure do remember it. My Christmas decorations are still up as well. I've just been too sick and too weak to do it. Oh well, I didn't leave my decorations up late, I'm just decorating early for next Christmas 😊😉
@@deewormsvermicomposting I don't recall if you've ever mentioned where you live. Is it somewhere in the Midwest? Might be a little too cold to ship a bunch of springtails to Connecticut lol. Although it would be rather funny
