The quest priest was next level
I don't understand why he added the quest though, it doesn't seem like there are enough deathrattles to make it work and as we saw at the end, it looks like it is just anti-synergy

I think the point of the Mecha'thun quest priest was to psyche the opponent out into conceding
I actually think any Mecha'thun deck doesn't need to craft Mecha'thun, everyone concede before you play anyway, put an Ultrassaur instead.
80% win rate with mecha'thun priest (non-quest, although I play that one, too) and never once has anyone conceded before the mech animation + win. Dunno why, but it's the only combo deck I've played where this happens. /shrug

Here is the 200IQ play for anyone who missed it at 12:10
Priest Plays Reckless Experimenter - Makes Deathrattle minions cost 3 less, but die at the end of the turn
Then plays Coffin Crasher - Deathrattle: Summon a Deathrattle minion from hand (planning for Mecha-cthun)
Then plays two ticking abominations - Deathrattle: deal 5 dmg to his own minions.
Priest then ends his turn, which trigger the ticking abomination which kill the coffin crasher which summon his last minion, Mecha-thun.
Mecha-thun : Deathrattle: Wins the game if priest has no cards in hand, field, or deck. Since it the reckless experimenter was still alive when it was summoned, Mecha-thun then instantly dies because the turn is over. Mecha-thun in this case is instant win, BUT it is also a death rattle minion, which happen to trigger his quest which puts Amara in his hand. This negates Mecha-thuns deathrattle, and therefore prevents him from winning the game.
Toast then takes credit for the priests blunder. Hilarity ensues... Profit?

Hey toast. If you add a zola and remove a crysyology. You have 2 win conditions ( otk and shirvala)not to mention the extra utility you can get from zola+shirvalla and zola+lynessa
Adding a Zola to this deck can make it possible to defeat High Armor Classes (Change the combo to Fur Horsemans)
That priest player is the perfect example of how ‘overpowered’ cards and decks are ATM. How did they even get to rank 5 with that level of play?
What a fail from the Mechathun guy, he definitely needs some more deathrattles or Twilight's Call :p

You can quest in mechathun for survive during the game but for the combo you have to finish it before or you must have 2 counter or less on it when you began the combo.
it's actually a thing. it's pretty good vs aggro in games where hemet shows up late. better than normal mech priest usually. overall, normal is better imo, tho.

probably everyone who has run mecha priest has either messed up the number of deathrattles and quest completion or gotten the order of cards wrong at least once. the first time I ever ran the deck, I got to the last cards and played them out in the wrong order. . I died with one card still in my hand. lol
Honestly, combos like this make me belive, that Activision didnt even allow enough people to work at hearthstone to actually playtest the cards they make, they just have enough to push out a new expansion evenery few month xD

They day when they nerf Holy Wrath to "deal damage equal to card's CURRENT cost" and now it deals 0 with these OTK decks.
It does deal the card current mana cost but the card gets the discount most of the time after the spell is over so its the whole mechanic that needs to be redone to nerf this

Im new to Hearthstone, so can someone please explain to me what happened the last turn?
the opponent played a one turn kill combo, where the cards he played allows him to summon and kill off Mecha'thun in one turn.
mecha'thun basically wins you the game when it dies IF there are no more cards in your deck, hand or on your board.
but because all the combo cards were deathrattle, they added to the priest quest progress, and completed it, adding the quest reward card to his hand.
so because the opponent now has 1 card in his hand, he broke his own kill combo and didnt trigger the kill effect

That Priest. How do people like this get to rank 5? Like holy hell. The highest I ever have gotten is rank 4 and I constantly play mecha priest. You simply have to either not play the quest if you have early hemet or wait until you finish the quest. It's not that hard.
Everyone makes mistakes, especially with decks they aren't familiar with. If you play regularly, getting rank 5 is not as much of an achievement as you make it out to be.
you can get rank 5 with a half decent deck while watching porn if you have basic understanding of the matchups and can count to 10. This guy just miscounted 1 minion or maybe didn't even think about it since its a situation that happens in 0.0001% of games. No big deal.
I get to 25 every season

Mecha'Thun's deathrattle wins the game automatically if you have no minions on the board and no cards in your hand or deck. Because the priest combo relies on deathrattle cards the player completed the quest and was awarded Amara, thus giving him a card in hand and negating Mecha'Thun's deathrattle requirements. Hope that makes sense.

Bodhi Hilberdink It’s called deck tracker. It’s an app you launch and get the deck on your right, the opponent deck on the left that gets revealed as he plays card, the turn thing and other stuff. You can customize all of that if you don’t like something. It’s really useful.

You could go for the horse combo... but he specifically made this deck for 25-to-face holy wrath so there's no reason for him to do that

The animation can be confusing, but essentially his quest put Amara into his hand while he tried to combo off, causing the Mechathun's win condition to fizzle
