TTK I'm an old analog plug and play guy. I ventered into getting a Spark and wanted a floor pedal (used to that) so picked up an Airstep. A bit confusing, but this video was a big help. I saved it and will watch it some more to get set up. Thanks so much, this will get me going. Good video.👍
I preordered a Katana Air because the demos looked like it would make a great camping and practice unit - plus once you buy into the Katana ecosystem you get access to Boss' massive tone library. The wireless has been a very tight performer and I feel like I made the right call since I've been unable to completely destroy the thing and I have been taking it for granted in the abuse department. I keep checking to see if I cracked any connectors or a PCB every time I hard fumble it but that thing has been a literal TANK if we're gonna tier these things. In fact, it's TOO compact. I would expand the chassis *slightly* and add the ability to put two more battery packs in, also integrate the power brick so we can use an IEC square cord instead of a laptop barrel connector that is always close to breaking, and the simplest upgrade, wireless charging. I would gladly allow this thing to be an inch larger in each dimension to keep the internal space and gain the features. But that's wild. An Airstep and Katan Air lol that would actually be pretty slick, huh? *GAS increases*
I thought I comment again because you're talking about the building your own cabinets and stuff projects and it reminded me of my dad and the 60s my Dad ran a company that made basically a vanity mirrors you know in home you know with lights around the end for makeup you know for women to do their faces up lol. And in the shop is a complete metal and a complete woodworking shop so they made their own things to make repairs to test machines things like that everything was in house and my dad would build a speakers for the house stereo speakers no fiber border or anything like that no plywood all solid wood and the they were beautiful you know he made them he finished them out the only downside was the fact that the speakers he used when not very expensive you know but that it is open the back you can take the speakers out and replace them that was his idea anyway. I remember he made a set of speakers for the living room and his idea was you know what one speaker didn't get pick up another speaker would so if you had enough speakers you'd get a pretty good range so he made a cabinet with the 12 5-in speakers and rows of four from that mistaken with a tweeter in the middle and the Tweeter was you can control the tone on the Tweeter on the side there was a potentiometer and at the time they had speaker dope and the idea was you put it around the end of the speaker and it made it more pliable and in the end what it did was make the speakers brittle lol after many years but yeah he made the bedroom headboard speakers out of a beautiful Walnut Wood you know stained and everything by hand that had a 10-inch if they were what do they call them coaxial they had a 10 inch woofer and a 5-in theater in front of it since they worked at plastic he also had access to one inch Max and less thicker plexiglass from clear to tinted no oral pain and he made a fish tanks out of those he also made bulletproof windows for a house and doors which was a pretty good the fun for me cuz I would bet people that if they throw a good size rock at the window in my door this screen door you know to see if they can break it and of course they couldn't but anyway yeah and he was pretty head of his time with these things and you know I don't think there was any fish tanks that were commercially being sold that were made out of plexiglass and he bent them so there was only two seams cuz the back he meant the sides in the front with one piece of plastic glass in the back was cuz they had it on as was the base and he made it with a built-in underground filter and instead of working on water jets like the newer ones did they worked on air pumps but they did the same thing he made enough anyone ever was into a fish fish tanks but there was a fish called the Siamese fighting fish a betta fish and the males turn color especially when in the proximity with if they could see another male I guess it was for competition for mating and so he made like a 6 ft long tank with partitions in it I don't remember because I might have been six positions or something like that so each fish would go different single fish will go into the fish tank I'm going to stop about the fish tanks at plexiglass cuz it's got nothing to do with music that's a habit I have I'm an addict after admit it I'm going to come into the attic and yeah and you can see by the size of my comment that that's very true. But this is something to do with guitars someone to give him regard an old really old giannini six string guitar and the neck had been broken off of it or it was broken I think he snapped the rest of it off in order to repair it correctly and he put the head back headstock back on and repaired it and then you know blended in a finish so you couldn't see it and the guitar works fine now no one in the house played the guitar but my uncle will come over I can't tell you how long and I don't remember what ever happened to it. Or if they were even valuable when they were new yeah so I'll end with that little bit of information all this is probably pretty boring but hey it was in my head so I let her come out reminded me of my dad talking about the projects with the speaker cabinets you know I was thinking also and then I promise this will be in you know when it comes to like pick up somehow they're wound and stuff like that and my dad will back in the 60s also there was slack cars and you know they worked on 12 volt tracks and they were places that you rented time and you could you know drive the slot cars on their tracks and some of them were amazing like 20 foot long straightaways that went into like an I can't think of the exact degrees but I mean Banks so that the the banker that ended at the at the straightaway you know if you weren't going fast the car which is fall off the track yeah and not only did he build the chassis and everything by hand with a soldering gun he would die like a little motives you know motives or out of the back of like a hobby magazines and he would take them apart and he would rewind them and he did this by hand with a crank and the crank he made himself out of aluminum and so you know that ability yeah I can only imagine that if you made pickups and they were anything as good as everything else he made they would have been amazing and my father if he was going to do that he would have looked up and resourced every single thing he coul so at this time I promise I'm really going to end if you actually got this far into my comments thank you I know because the speech to text works so well that the punctuation in this comment must be Sterling l m a o and that they will be absolutely no spelling mistakes they will be no words that don't fit in the right sentence the fact that it's a comment and not a novella or an epic or a short novella that won't apply to this either going off topic and or subject that's not going to apply to this comment either so nothing to for me to say no sincerely bought the blind bedroom guitarist
Hey thanks for the video it's pretty cool enjoying it. It's funny well maybe not funny but I haven't watched a video of you wasn't quite some time. You just haven't been in my feed and after a while you forget things you know that aren't in your feet all the time and you wear this time and I'm glad that I caught it now I'll be keeping an extra look out or even maybe doing a search for exercise. Most of my life most people I think in the United States don't have a garage nitpicking r&r board. I don't understand buying a spare tire and keeping it in your garage doesn't that negate the purpose of having a spare tire. It makes no sense to me the only times I never had a spare tire what times when I was pretty low down on funds and couldn't afford one. And I say you keep tired and flat in your car and pray that when you if you do have a flat or a leak it's not a slash on your sidewalls LOL slash is great on guitar but it's not good on your tires lol. anyway that boss katana stuff is pretty interesting I'm blind so I'm wondering does the boss katana the new ones I have a mark one 100 watt Mach One whether the original and I wanted to do the new ones the artist apparently it sounds like it's got a touch screen if so does anyone know if it has an accessibility setting like so it like a screen reader or social TalkBack for apple and the or Mac and the Android phone it might be the same on computers but I don't have a computer anymore since I got really bad my eyesight is the generative the longer I live with the worst it gets I'm now horribly blind but I do have some site so I guess that's a plus well maybe not lol but yeah you know screen readers guess whatever you want to call it if the katana the new artist or the mark twos in general the touch screens do they have an accessibility setting for that? Again I have I have the mark one I've never updated it it's never been hooked up to a computer on the app store Play store there's a an app it's not proprietary I think it's called Android suite or Android library is that's what it is not Android library katana library or boss library that allows you to do quite a bit with your phone but you need to know TG cord and I keep forgetting to buy one I have to go to the store open my you know open the Play store app get to that particular app and then look in the description so the person can see exactly what port I would need for my phone and I guess I should do that. But again there's no touch screens or anything else like that on the katana one I've memorized with every knob does and it's parameters and stuff but again it's I've never even updated it I just use it as a regular ramp you know I was kind of disappointed that some people online told me that the preamp on the katana was a modeling preamp or it had a sound processor for it and I was always under the assumption that the preamp and the power ramp for both just regular solid state and only the effects with digital but so I don't really know what's what maybe I should call some place like Sweetwater I say guitar center but the truth is I know more about this stuff than the average guitar center sales person does so yeah and see if it's true you know I've been using it I have a tube amp that I bought about a year ago so I've been using that more often I've been using all this time not knowing it and if it's true that the preamp is digital and not having any thoughts about the sound or anything else like that and it's funny what a concept the word can suggest in your brain you know all of a sudden the first thing that happened to my mind is is that true does it really have a digital preamp oh man you know I'm saying to myself you know what about the sound you know it's crazy you know if I didn't know that or if it's true or not true I don't know but if I didn't have that information and never would have been a thought in my mind like hey you know it sounds like it's got a digital preamp you know crazy right what we think how a word a concept can change something so drastically in your mind when you've been happy and fine with that concept of it all along so yeah so those are my questions does the new boss katana is the tooth do they have a screen and if they have a screen touch screen is it accessible accessibility enabled? And yeah and that's about it you know sometimes I think of bringing the amps to a friend that has a you know computer or having someone maybe come over with a laptop and up updating it and I'll probably do that at some point I even was thinking at times of switching out the speakers but I watch many videos on speaker swaps demo and review speaker swaps for the boss katana and almost all of them I think all of them said you're better off keeping the original speaker cuz it's a good speaker and it's made specifically for that amp and you really don't gain anything by using another amp speaker electric guitar speaker in it no matter how good it is really it's not cost effective and yes I'm happy with the speaker LOL thanks again sincerely Bob the blind bedroom guitars
