i do it like this: jump -> cstick up -> down on analog stick immediately -> cstick up again the important part of it is putting the analog stick down after the cstick goes up to do the up air. if you do it this way, you don’t have to time the fast fall at all, and can just press c stick up for a fast fall at the apex.

Heres how im doing it: Buffering Up Air by doing Jump (X) and Upair (Analog Stick Up + A), immeaditily after the jump come out i switch the analog stick down and flick the c-stick to the right for the fast fall. Timing is strict and i also discovered that it works best when the opponent is about 80%. Thats works best for me.

If you're struggling to do this combo I would recommend using a lighter character and working your way up to heavier ones, personally I would pick mewtwo as he has a big hurtbox and it's what works for me
This can work very well if you can either play with claw grip or set a shoulder button to jump. I play Melee with claw grip so transitioning to ultimate wasn’t difficult. But definitely something that everyone should try for a month!

I'm not sure where you're at, but if you're not super confident in doing the arduino shit yourself, there's usually a guy in the local scene selling em decently cheap, or I could help you out. Anyways might be worth looking into if you plan on doing a lot of labbing, since it's way more reliable than the combo counter. I do uair drag downs differentlh. What I do is I buffer the uair then fastfall on the fourth hit. On bigger/heavier characters you want to fast fall on the third hit because they are bigger. That's what I do and it works for me just fine.

If you can't get correctly the shorthop you can press 2 jump buttons at the same time. I have 3 jumps buttons (L/ZL/X). Why? Because if I press L and X for the jump I don't have enough time to buffer a shorthop aerial (Undragdownable aerial), and if I need the finger of my right hand inmediatly (Like in this trick) I just press L and ZL for ensure the shorthop. Even if you don't have a Pro controller you can use the GameCube controller with R and Z/X/Y. I *never* learn how to shorthop at the traditional way.

you can indeed buffer the up air but that will make it harder to NOT get the last hit, which will obviously end the infinite. by slightly delaying it, its a lot easier to only get the first 4 hits and continue the infinite. and even if u delay it, the infinite will still be true! delaying the up air slightly tends to work better in my opinion 😁

Hello man, this combo is indeed not true at early %. It starts being true around +70% on midweights (you can verify by setting the CPU to "control" and go frame per frame so you can see if the CPU can shield or not before getting hit by the 2nd uair) but the combo counter wont show up until like 90%. Thus i recommand setting the CPU to 90% to practice it, because if you can get the combo counter to show it up as true at 90%, then you can perform the combo correctly at 70% as well, so it helps you to know if you're doing it correctly or not. Also, you want to buffer the uair during the shorthop. Once this is done, you have to figure out the correct timing to fastfall. You got a 4 frames window to input it after the 3rd hit of uair hits the opponent, thanks to the generous buffer window of fastfalls in this game.
Hey Cozy, I a pretty legit Joker main but I some how can seem to do this still consistently the percents and characters are not the problem its the execution I know how to do drag down upair's but I cant do the infinite!! WHat heppens is I do it but I dont think Im doing in fast enough becuase the combo meter doesnt show it although mario is at the perfect percent what am I doing wrong?
the combo meter is wacky so dont rely on it, it’d be great if the training mode was actually legit but its not lol just keep practicing and if u have a friend or someone who can DI and try to escape from it thats even better! 👍🏽

The Infinite can be avoid with sdi of course but you can adapte to the sdi and move the up air of the other side of the sdi

This is so character dependant, i can do it w Mario, Villager, but tall characters are so hard

So for the upair you need to not do a rising upair but as close to the first frame out of jumpsquat upair
i dont put any effort into doing the upair fast, i just do it immediately after, which ends up being a couple of frames of delay (3-4 maybe??)
