Jaylen says it himself, that's what the GM said. Some people like multi-tasking, they don't focus on just one thing, Jaylen was expected to be a Top5 pick so selecting him would mean betting a big chunk of your team's future on him. If he didn't have the commitment to fully embrace being a NBA star it would have been a waste of a pick. Sometimes when you are doing more than one thing you find out you prefer doing something not related to your current job and you might end up quitting your job to focus on that new hobby you've found. That was the fear that GM had.
