I love the fact that Rick Mayall and Ade Edmundson were actually best friends in real life and that they were the creators and driving force behind The Young Ones.
I was genuinely a little scared of Vyv when I watched this as a kid. It was good to learn later that Ade Edmondson is such a genuinely nice and decent person.

wtf does that even mean... Rethorical question. It's a duo that work well off eachother. Why can't we just watch and enjoy a show without making weird fantasies up. How people of the Young Ones generation can even use the term ship without irony is beyond me. A show about four guys who basically all cant stand eachother somehow, but are forced to hang out anyway. The show worked because they antagonise eachother. but people come along and go "and then they kissed".

The thing about Rik and Ade is that their act hardly changes. The Young Ones characters are based on characters they created at university and they are essentially the same as their characters in their Dangerous Brothers act as well as Filthy, Rich, and Catflap, Bottom, and others from various skits they have written and performed over the years. After a while it starts to wear thin.
