Craig & Aspen - thank you so much for highlighting this beautiful part of America. Being from Iowa, the Badlands and Black Hills were always a vacation destination, and I feel that area is taken for granted by those of us nearby. It's always just been there. I love these videos, and I hope to have a small teardrop camper of my own one day so I can do the same. God bless and keep those great videos coming!
Thank you! We still talk about this trip all the time. We were worried we wouldn't have enough to do. We had an absolute blast. We'll definitely go back sometime. We've recommended that trip to everyone we know.
Thanks for watching! We've been loving your Alaska trip. I've noticed you've visited Land Between the Lakes, if you come back hit us up. We're only 15 minutes away.
Custer State Park and the area is one of the most beautiful areas in the United States. I have been there multiple times. So much to do! Mount Rushmore and Badlands and Wind Cave National Parks in the area. Buffalo roaming wild. Great trip.
I really appreciate how you take the time to explain your thoughts on what you are doing! This is good for 1st timers and those who do not own a Runaway.
Custer State Park is on our bucket list. We wanted to visit in 2022 but it didn't fit into our schedule. Hopefully soon!!! Love your little camper. We have a Kodiak Stealth from Rustic Trail Teardrops and we love it. It's fun when we're surrounded by huge vehicles, isn't it?!? On our last trip, we had a HUMUNGOUS Class A pull in next to us and the juxtaposition of our two rigs was pretty comical. Loved watching your footage. Your video makes us want to visit this area even more. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
Thanks for the compliments! I LOVE Rustic Trails, I want that Grizzly Bear. You made a great choice. Definitely go to Custer, it's worth the trip just for that alone.
Awesome video! Great pictures! The Black hills is on my bucket list along with visiting Sturgis (minus the bike rally). I also want to visit Deadwood. My father was born in SD. Visited Sioux Falls when I was a kid, loved the area. Wasn’t able to talk my parents into driving west to see the badlands. We also have a Runaway We love our little camper too. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! I actually have a good friend in upper MI wanting us to come visit. It'll probably be next fall. I only get two weeks of vacation and we already have some other trips planned.
Picking up our Runaway tomorrow and planning our trip out west for next May. You videos were great and thanks for tips! Retired and ready to travel from East Tennessee to anywhere in the great outdoors
Stumbled across this vid tonight and subbed...what a great presentation! Excellent editing and music selection. We are practically neighbors as we own a lake home on KY lake and....we love our Runaways! Plural. Started with the RangeRunner, bought a Cool Camp a few months ago and we are purchasing a Rouser this week! Fav thing about this vid: the way you transition back and forth from camp life to day trips. Great focus on the camper; Runaways are becoming very popular so the RR segments are appealing. If you haven't joined the main three Runaway groups on FB then do so! Advertise your YT channel/vids there and invite members to watch; you'll increase subs that way. Looking forward to more Runaway adventures! Rhonda 🙂
We live about 5 miles from KY Dam Marina, that's crazy! What 3 would you say are the main ones? We're in a couple but want to make sure I'm in all the best ones.
@@grubbyssmokeshack Runaway Camper Owner's Club, Runaway Camper Owners, Runaway Campers World. Check out the # of members in each and how they are different. All three are fairly active. Our lake home is down near Paris Landing; we live in Clarksville. I have a practically new Cool Camp for sale if you know of anyone interested. Picking up our Rouser tomorrow! We loved our RangeRunner and Cool Camp but we're getting older and it's hard crawling around on our knees. 🙂
Nice build out on trailer. We do Sturgis, SD every year and love it there. Was wondering if the camper decreased your fuel mileage much with the weight & additional width behind your Highlander?
It's a 4Runner and it didn't decrease by much. We still average around 16-17mpg with it in tow. Wind is a big factor, it gets around 15mpg if it's windy.
Great videos. Are you part of the RCO midwest group on Facebook? Rallies are set up thru the year. I'm in another brand but love hanging out with Runaway friends.
Awesome video. Looks like you didn’t have a 7 pin connector. Does that mean you didn’t have trailer brakes? If so, how was the drive without trailer brakes?
My 4Runner usually averages around 20mpg, this trip we got around 15mpg round trip. It does better around here in the KY/TN area we live in, it gets around 17mpg around here.
We averaged around 15mpg while towing. It was doing around 17-18 from home until we reached the plains, then it got windy and we started climbing in elevation. We figured we would have gotten better coming home but it was the same both directions.

Good stuff...love your videography and music! Just ordered a Runaway myself!
Aww thanks, I really appreciate that! You're going to love it. We're really enjoying ours.
Excellent video Badlands is one of our favorites

Great camping trip. It was like was right there with you. Enjoy your life together!
Aww that's sweet, thank you!
so good, this trip means a lot
Thank you!
Great share - you covered a number of famous spots. If I got out that way I would just follow the same path you traveled so I didn't overthink things.
Thanks! Yeah we really wanted to hit it all. We don't get much rest and relaxation on vacation.
@@grubbyssmokeshackSame here, I usually can go somewhere and relax for 3 days max, then I am looking for adventure.
I really appreciate how you take the time to explain your thoughts on what you are doing! This is good for 1st timers and those who do not own a Runaway.
Thanks for the great feedback!
7 years ago this week I was at the Badlands on my way to Glacier…didn’t see a single sheep. Slightly peeved. Excellent content, my friend!
Haha sorry about your luck buddy. We had to move out of their way. There was another group of them that was in a bad place to shoot so I didn't.
Great video, enjoy your Runaway and the adventures ahead, will be following 🇺🇸
Thank you!
What an awesome video! I am so happy to see you both having a great time! Keep the videos coming.
Thanks, I appreciate it!

Great video. Looked like a great trip. Apple Jacks 🤣 BTW, I love my GCI rocker! And yes, ColoRADo is amazing in the fall!
I've caught peak Aspen trees once and it's literally the best. That's our plan for fall break this year, my wife is a teacher.
GREAT VIDEO!!! And Howdy from a Fellow Ky Runaway owner...
Whaaaaa! I'm glad you found my channel, thanks for watching!
Found your channel while researching the camper you guys have. Keep up the nice work!

Well Done y’all! Great views, great shots and great videos. Looking forward to seeing more of your camping and exploring.
Thank you! I wish I had more vacation time to do more trips.
Great editing. Love the music and talks. Amazing views of your amazing adventure. We've brought our runaway, for someday. 🙂
Thank you so much!
Wonderful video of a memorable vacation!
Thanks for checking it out!
I just found you guys and subscribed. Very nice video.

East Tennessee is beautiful! Thank you for watching. Please subscribe, I have more coming.
Great story telling with great footage!!! You both look very happy!!
Aww thanks! We had a great trip. We're gearing up for a trip to Colorado for Aspen's Fall break.
Really nice video! I have a Coolcamp! NE New Mexico is my fav place to camp.
We went to NM during the winter, check that video out too!
Well-done videos 👍. NW Kentucky here, and looking at getting a Hiker Trailer rig (built in IN), for weekend trips (Mammoth Cave, Nolin, LBL possibly).
Ahh cool, I live about 15 minutes from LBL, I just camped there last weekend. Hiker trailers are cool, enjoy it!
Your camera shots are out of this world STUNNING. Really captures the environment. You guys tell stories wonderfully, too! Subscribed!
Thank you! I consider myself more of a photographer but I'm trying to learn video. Editing is hard.

Great vedio, amazing photos, and places you went. How long were you guys out seeing all of that?
It was around July 4 so we had an extra day off. I think it was 9 days total. Probably 7 days in SD.
Great videos. Are you part of the RCO midwest group on Facebook? Rallies are set up thru the year. I'm in another brand but love hanging out with Runaway friends.
Thank you. No, haven't seen that group. I'll look them up.
Great video and itinerary! How many days did you spend to hit all those sites in the area?
Thanks! I think 7 but it could probably be done in 5. We went to Custer several different times, it was a blast.
Awesome video. Looks like you didn’t have a 7 pin connector. Does that mean you didn’t have trailer brakes? If so, how was the drive without trailer brakes?
Nope, no trailer brakes. It's fine but I haven't had any emergency stops yet.

Thanks! It's a Canon R6. I have links to my gear in the description if you'd like to check it out.

Where did you shower?
At the campground. Most have bathhouses.
